Dismissing facts is not flattering. Nor is attacking everyone that tells it like it is regarding this movie as if they just tried to murder you or something.

There were no facts to be dismissed....his post was just plain wrong,....starting from the production budget number up to the fact that he didn't have a clue that the movie was not released evywhere at the same time and still has several countries to be relasead in. |

The movie has been released in every single important foreign market and pretty much every other market imaginable. What country are you talking about that it hasn't been released in?
It's production budget is 55 million. For a successful movie, the movie should gross double it's production budget worldwide or at least gross more than it's budget domestically. The reason for that is because studios on average only take in %50 of a movie's gross. Burlesque has gross 87 million worldwide. That's pretty far from the 110 million it would need to break even.
Some people bring in advertising costs in to the calculation. But advertising costs are generally considered to be gained back from DVD sales (as long as sales are good).
So in short, for Burlesque to break even it needs to make 23 million more. That's not happening. It would be lucky to pass 90 million right now.
That said, the movie is not a flop. Not in the movie world anyways. With the licensing and the TV run it will have, it will end up breaking even at some point. But it's a huge disappointment for the studio, that's for sure.

I It's still hasn't been released in South Korea and Turkey....so two huge movie markets and one more countrie i believe. |

It came out in Turkey on January 21st, South Korea doesn't have a distributor yet and the only other market left is Armenia (which is a small market). Just be happy it sold almost 90 million worldwide. If the budget for this movie would have been 30 million this movie would have been a small hit. It was a dumb movie on Sony's part to spend so much on it. Chicago with all it's big stars and much bigger production had a budget of 45 million. |

It was postponed in Turkey (april 24th is the date for Turkey)and SK and will be relasead there next month.
Sony postponed it because of big competition...you can find receipts on ald.

The Burlesque soundtrack is #18 on Billboard this week and has sold around 325K to date. It's also the first time it has ever been #1 on Billboard's Soundtrack Chart.
The DVD is #1 on rentals and #3 for overall sales.

It was a decent movie and I loved the music. Her acting was a lil rocky but not awful.

While she has had her hickups, she has enjoyed bright moments in between them also. She'll get everything together. Right now she's just letting loose, and trying to get a grip on things.
