It's completely untrue to pretend I'm a hater. I had her back all last year during Bionic and still think it's a great album. I think I even had a lot of thoughtful exchanges on the album's quality here with some of the same user names who are now pretending I just showed up out of nowhere to spread hate. I admired her because she seemed to be the smartest pop star who was committed to quality & excellence. I thought her marriage showed that she escaped the shallowness of Hollywood and built a family with a man she really loved regardless of Hollywood standards. I was excited that she was delving into more underground territory and bringing it to life with her incredible voice.
So...
I tolerated it when she tacked Not Myself Tonight and Woohoo onto the album at the last minute. I knew she was jealous when she made that crass remark about Lady Gaga because confident artists never say thing like that. Then her marriage ended in typical whacko Hollywood fashion. So after telling my partner how much I admired her values on love/marriage and wanted to bring them to our relationship, that shit happens, making me feel like an idiot. I stopped following her closely. Next thing I see, she's so consumed with exploiting the National Anthem as an object to show off gratuitously, well... we know how that went down. Then she's drunk all the time and gaining weight but the kicker is how fervently she denies that anything is wrong. And anyone who tries to get her help she dismisses outright. Instead of being the brilliant artist she's capable of, she's sunk into delusional narcissism. It couldn't be more obvious. I want to believe it's not true, but it's like when your partner is cheating on you. You just know.
So anyway, I'm not a hater, I'm a fan. But not a blind fan. I think she needs a few life lessons to build character.

I'm not a hater, I'm a fan. But not a blind fan. I seriously love this statement. More people should realize that that is possible, to admire someone without being oblivious.

It was proven fake, get over it. Xtina doesn't care what people think of her, so that dumb rumor doesn't phase her, and shouldn't phase anyone else.
We're on the Burlesque album now also.

So now anyone who doesn't believe the bullshit rumors is oblivious or a blind fan? I don't think so. I like Christina a lot, but I'm not some deluded stan. I just think it's funny that you continue to insist that this story is true, yet you refuse to provide a legit source (Perez Hilton doesn't count...sorry).

My regrets that I'm not able to personally fly to California and acquire affidavits for the honorable adjudicating bodies of Pulse. Can anyone provide a "legit" source that refutes the story beyond any doubt? Yea, I didn't think so, especially since Christina's people didn't even bother to issue a cursory denial. And they couldn't... because it was probably true and doing so would just draw more embarrassing attention to the incident.
We know Christina is preoccupied with being "the best," and that's a trait that reflects positively (usually) in her art. After a decade in the shadow of Britney Spears, Aguilera could at least convince herself that at least she was an "artist." But now Lady Gaga comes along with a huge emphasis on artistry in pop, and eclipses Christina bigtime. She plays the experience card first and dismisses Gaga as a "newcomer" but that doesn't fly too well. So she's left with, "but I'm a better vocalist." She ends up on a show exclusively dedicated to her biggest strength and gets an opportunity to use Lady Gaga's vocals as an "example" to help explain her point to vocalists she's mentoring. How convenient. The conversation naturally blends into her generalized frustration at playing second fiddle -yet again- to a pop star that she considers inferior.
I'm surprised anyone would doubt the story. We're talking about the same woman who threw gum at her fans and tried to get her same anti-Gaga point across last year. I doubt her year of drunkenness, flops, and divorce has yet given birth to an epiphany (more like a downward spiral). Any quick review of other artists' thoughts on Aguilera are uniformly negative. I get it now. I used to defend her cause I thought she was misunderstood and coming from a good place. The venom and wickedness in her are too much now. No amount of talent justifies that degree of cruelty, especially when in fact a sign of the purest talent is a kind spirit. Everything else just comes from insecurities.

I am not a blind fan because I don't really see a need to dwell for more hundreds of pages over a crap year. Time has passed and she has REALLY made some improvements. You are actually wrong when you say "a quick review of other artists thoughts on Aguilera are uniformly negative"-lately, I have heard absolutely nothing but praise from everyone who has worked with her. Literally everyone who works on The Voice has said she is actually surprisingly sweet and down to earth. Artists who bashed her before are now saying good things about her and inviting her places. Audience members who have sat for tapings have said she has been nothing but sweet, cute, and humble. Quite literally the ONLY bad story I have heard in months is the one Perez Hilton started-someone who has been caught in rumors before, announced someone's death when they weren't dead, mocked and attacked someone whose baby had just died, and routinely viciously attacks people in rehab, therapy, dying people, and small children.
So, I guess if not believing him over an entire audience of people who were actually there and have no reason to lie and said it never happened makes me a blind fan then I am a blind fan. I don't see why her people would deny anyway-it was literally debunked as faked as soon as it leaked.
I always give second chances to people, generally. Christina messed up a lot-every fan knows that. But she has changed when I didn't think she would. I thought it would never happen ever. I thought she was way, way too set in her ways. It is so bizarre to see all positive press about her as a person for once and everyone talking about how cute and sweet she is. Like, in her entire career including her debut I have never seen so much positive press for her personality ever. So, she proved me wrong.
Now, she needs to do the next point in my plan to get her career back on track. Makeover-makeover NOW. Makeover like, yesterday. It kills me that she has a lot of momentum right now but still looks less hot than she could be :( After the makeover, she needs to work on her performances a bit and then, finally, killer music.

Go away, its seriously stupid that u keep going on. Christina is on THE VOICE now, I doubt Lady Gaga is at all crossing her mind with all the work she has on her hands on the moment. Go away.

LPL, I appreciate your thoughtful contributions to the discussion. I listened to Bionic today start to finish (my own sequencing of it, which I must say was very very good ) and it reminded me of what a great album it was overall. Probably her best effort, making all the more a shame how it was marketed. Of course, I would support her if she were in a place where she's capable of rendering brilliant music. I think it's going to be a while though. For the record, I'm not a fan of Perez Hilton and the story in question originated with National Enquirer. When rumors about her feuding with Adam Levine leaked out, there were denials and even Carson Daly came to her defense. No denials of the tirade against Gaga though. And let's be realistic: it's not like ranting about Lady Gaga is the kind of thing Christina Aguilera is above doing. She is notorious for being a diva to staff and has a history of being vulgar to other female artists: Julianne Hough, Kelly Osborne, Avril Lavigne, P!nk, the X-Factor girl, etc. I hear you that she's maybe been a bit nicer in general recently, but I don't know if she's really even begun the process of becoming healthy. The stint on The Voice is good for her, but more like a Band-AID than a longterm solution. How do you go from alcoholism and firing everyone around you who suggests you have a problem to a sincere human being overnight? It doesn't seem real, more like good PR.

Well, there is no need to discuss anything further-you have your mind set and I am just thankful you are pretty much alone in your opinion and everyone else knows it is fake lol. Perez Hilton talk always disgusts me. What a revolting man on every count.
She can be a cute, pretty woman but what in the world is she doing with her appearance? I found a style journal somewhere that had pages dedicated to certain celeb styles and for a few years she was on point. Like, every casual and appearance outfit was so cute and fashionable. She even controlled her make-up and hair at one point. I want that Christina back! I wish I could find that journal again too-apparently, I also liked Jessica Simpson's style for awhile, but she stopped dressing as cute as well :(

Yo her weave is just off. You completely see how short her real hair is and where the fake hair begins. Not a good look.

She looks rough. This Dolly Parton/Porno/Housewives look does absolutely nothing for her. I only like the Loree Rodkin ring. Anyways, LPL I believe you are referring to Christina's B2B era. The looks consisted of basic pieces but overall everything worked because not only was she in great shape but her hair/makeup were on point more often than not. The era didn't do much for me but anything is better than what has occurred since Bionic. Jessica's style peaked during the 'Newlyweds' phase. It's funny that her and Christina both have no idea (or their stylists) have no idea how to dress them when they put on a bit of weight. Meh.

Anyone else have a hard time believing that it's already been 5 years since Christina premiered 'Ain't No Other Man' on the MTV Movie Awards? Man, time flies. Anyway, I've said this a million times, but she definitely needs a makeover. She can be such an attractive woman when she chooses to be, but lately it seems as though she's doing everything in her power to make herself look thoroughly awful. The weight gain has really aged her. Weird to think that these pictures are barely a year old: She looks so much older now.

Its only the heavy makeup and hair and unflattering that gives that impression.. This picture was taken on Easter and she looks so young without any makeup. She still looks young and out of her peers I think she's aged the best. The pic below is only a few weeks old and she looks amazing, I just wish she would go out more with light makeup because shes a beautiful girl

The make-up and hair is the #1 problem and maybe partially the styling. However, there is also something weird going on with her face. She looks really bloated beyond just a little weight gain. As a female, I know that could be a lot of things (going off or starting birth control, changing birth control, drinking more than usual, eating no no foods every day, other medication related issues) It tends to happen to me when I don't watch my diet closely-like, I can literally see that my face looks weird and bloated.
She is one of the few celebrities I know that would look a lot better if they went to events with no makeup or styling as opposed to her current styling.

She has a delicate bone structure so the weight gain really changes her features.

It really is the bad weaves and makeup (the red lips in particular) that make her look so much older. There were pictures of her leaving an airport with Matt recently where she had nude lipstick and barely anything else on her face... Didn't look a day over 25. Anyways, I'm not concerned with her look now. I'm sure once she gets into album-release mode she will drop a few pounds and come up with a new look. Hopefully the red lips will finally be put away, but I'm not holding my breath.
I wonder how far along she is in the recording process... We know she worked with Sandy Vee (Only Girl, Firework) and Scott Storch (Fighter, Walk Away, Infatuation -- and more from the Stripped album) so far. Sia tweeted the other day that she'll be working with Christina but hasn't started writing with her yet. Christina is so secretive with her progress that it's hard to pinpoint how far along this record is. Her assistant tweeted that she'll be in Europe for the next two months so hopefully that means Christina will be recording out there during that time. They could totally pull off a Q4 release... Just depends on how the material sounds and if the record label will approve.

i personally LOVED Bionic i mean that album had some amazing songs to it, i think what came to her down fall of it was everyone potraid her as "the snobby bitch that thinks she is the best" at least that is what most people i know refereed to her as. Being on the voice is helping her and now she is on twitter and is being more friendly publicly i guess is the best way to put it?
