The email discussion is over and done with because it's going absolutely nowhere. The above article was posted numerous times last year and it was discussed then too. End it now. It's done. Move on. It's being discussed based on a question brought up in the thread concerning the issue. It's not like we've been discussing it the entire year, nor do I see how it's detrimental to discussion simply because it just resurfaced. It's not like there's any serious discussion happening right now anyway.

And no, thanks, I don't have to go to Gaga's thread. This s**t has to do with M, and the accusations were made here. In fact, floridagrl had graciously informed me that the video in which Gaga was supposed to commit her egregious lies had been posted here at least 3 times. Funny how that was perfectly fine, but not so when a request to provide the proof was made :). Don't bring me in your crap posts. I simply posted the video where Gaga said she received an email from Madonna and her people. You didn't believe it so I posted it. As far saying Gaga lied, I am afraid you got me confused with someone else. Secondly, get off your lazy ass and google the statement Liz Rosenberg released about her not aware of any emails. After a week later, you're still crying about it. LOOK IT UP! Still not getting it, are you? It's not the part about Gaga's saying she'd heard from M that I don't believe -- it's the accusation that she was lying when she said that. There's no definitive proof about that statement from Rosenberg. Just that someone supposedly heard it on CNN Headline News, but there was no video of it (and since the shows on CNN HLN are repeated many times, there would surely be a video of it if it indeed happenned) and there was no such thing to be found on CNN. It's heresy. Just think, why on earth would gaga lie about something that would be so easily proven false? And if M's publicist had indeed released a statement, you can bet your ass it would have been picked up and reported by tons and tons of legitimate sources. But only one source reported it, the Hollywood Reported, who IMO picked it up from the Examiner.com article. The Examiner article came after CNN and The Hollywood Reporter both reported that Madonna's rep denied ever sending Lady Gaga an email. No, there was nothing on CNN. Please click on the articles that I linked in my previous post, the Examiner article is dated Feb 15, while the Hollywood Reporter article is dated Feb 16. The writer of the Examiner article went back and edited his article to add the link to the Hollywood Reporter one after the HR picked up his article (the only one who did so) to give the impression that he has an official source. Gaga made a statement that Madonna (or her team) sent an approving email. Prove this is true in light of madonna's team's on-the-record denial. I think the burden of proof rests squarely with gaga (or her team). But do it in the gaga thread. The lawyer has spoken. Sorry to say that -- whoever that is -- that isn't a lawyer I will personnally hire if I ever need one. There is no such thing as on-the-record denial from M, and thus there's no need for Gaga to prove it. Examiner.com is NOT a legitimate source AT ALL. Anyone can make an account and submit an article. That's why you won't see their articles picked up by most of legitimate sources.

One side posts the Enquirer link, the other side says the Enquirer isn't a reliable source and that the writer quit/was fired/whatever after it was published. One side says Madonna's team said an email was never sent, the other side says it wasn't a prominent member of her staff that said that. Unless someone can actually provide something new that can end this discussion, it's going nowhere and is taking this topic off topic where it's supposed to be about Madonna and her new album. And yes, there is a lot going on with it in regards to what's coming up and actual news.

It IS a fact that Examiner.com (not Enquirer) -- the only site that reported the denial -- is NOT a credible source. It's the Wiki for amateur writers -- anyone can make an account and submit an article. And if indeed Rosenberg had denied it on the Showbiz Tonight on CNN HLN as it was alleged, there would surely have been a video of it posted online since the show is repeated many times.

Libri, that's enough! Nobody cares, nor wants to hear it..
You've been asked by a mod to stop multiple times.

^^Thx, but your're not a mod, dear. And there's an ignore button if you need one :).
And a mod isn't a god -- I think we should be allowed to contest his/her decision as long as we do it reasonably and respectfully.

Got such a kick outta watching this. Thought you might too. I was doing the same thing. My poor husband, he was like, calm down! lol This was literally my exact reaction lol. I have no shame, Madonna stan 4 lyfe . So apparently we're going to be slammed with the song, video, Superbowl commercials, and the Halftime Show all within a couple weeks of each other. Sensory overload, which I'm sure is completely intentional. And I can't wait! It's been a while since we've seen M everywhere.

No, I'm not.. but a mod asked for discussion of this to be stopped multiple times, and it's becoming annoying trying to start, or be a part of an actual discussion on Madonna when you have to weed through the annoying drivel. I mean, grow up. Nobody knows for sure what happened or didn't happen, so let it go. There's no need to have a 4 day discussion on something you have no idea about.

I love when people talk back to mods and ignore their wishes. It's like, "Do you want your account to be shut down?" I NEED to hear this single because once it drops, all side chatter will cease...or at least, briefly.

There's always the option of locking the thread if the topic doesn't go back to what it's supposed to be. If you MUST continue the discussion, and can do it respectfully, keep it civil and without trolling, you can start a topic in the Opinions forum about it. But also know that such a topic may likely go haywire on here because of lack of solid evidence from each side to actually support such a discussion other than being purely speculative. No one will be satisfied and no one's opinions will change unless something new comes of it. This is the last of this particular discussion on that issue in this topic otherwise this thread will be temporarily locked.

This was literally my exact reaction lol. I have no shame, Madonna stan 4 lyfe . Mine too, Blackoutx......although, I do sometimes wear out the old man with my enthusiasm for her. He just doesn't understand, my mom raised me on this woman. I've known her my whole life. My dad can sympathize with him, however! LOL!!

Martin Solveig talks about recording with Madonna and co-producing her new songs for M.D.N.A.In am exclusive interview to VMusic, French DJ and producer Martin Solveig tells the recording sessions with Madonna for her M.D.N.A. album coming out at the very end of March 2012. "She (Madonna) is as involved as you can be in the recording process," says Martin Solveig. "This was a very good and big surprise for me! I was assuming that she would spend only an hour or two in the studio per day and come and see where we were and say, 'Ok I like this, I don't like that. I'll sing this. Bye!' And absolutely not... I mean we co-produced the track and it’s not just written on the credits 'co-produced by Martin Solveig and Madonna', we literally co-produced the tracks. I mean, at some point she wanted to choose the sound of a snare drum or a synth and that kind of stuff. She was really in the session! Solveig was very surprised by "the simplicity of the communication. The simplicity of the way we communicated on an organisation level. Recording those songs for that album was something that quickly became very natural and I think that really helped us to paint something interesting." I love how producers are always surprised by her work ethic. You would think at this point they would know. :)

I wonder if M will pick up a mentoring spot on Idol, since it's just getting started and she has a new album to promote.

M/her people would have to give Idol access to her catalog for use on live shows, which I don't believe they have done. But, it could happen- look at Glee.

Obviously it's going to look better on paper to say "OMFG she's so much more amazing than I expected!!!" than to say "Yeah it was Madonna. It was exactly what I expected."
Particularly with producers who've never worked with her before and are used to working with people that have little knowledge to the workings of this stuff, I'd imagine in some cases it would be a little surprising.

"Wow! What a tempest in a teapot. My comments regarding The Golden Globes have been blown way out of proportion. My passion for our film "Gnomeo & Juliet" and belief in Elton's song really got my emotional juices going. But I must say for the record that I do believe Madonna is a great artist, and that Elton and I wish her all the best for next week's premiere of the film "W.E.". David Furnish, on Facebook. A little damage control, David? lol

Madonna Flash MobDo you want to participate in a Madonna flash mob? Here’s your chance: Madonna will perform at the Super Bowl half-time show in February and Bay Area Flash Mob will celebrate Madge with a flash mob on Saturday, February 4 between noon and 4pm at several locations of San Francisco. They will perform a Madonna Medley including Don’t Tell Me, Express Yourself, Holiday, Music and Vogue. You can learn all these songs from our dance tutorial videos available on the following link: bayareaflashmob.com/Tutorials.aspxTo participate, you need to learn at least the final song of the Medley: “Vogue”. More info at Bay Area Flash Mob: bayareaflashmob.com/OtherFlashMobEvents.aspxMadonnarama This sounds so awesome. If I lived out there I would do it.

W.E. is out in the UK today! www.viewlondon.co.uk/films/we-film-review-42246.htmlTwo out of Five stars Running time: 117 mins W.E. is well acted and tells the story from a female-centric viewpoint that's as commendable as it is unusual, but the modern-day strand is largely superfluous, the dialogue is disappointingly flat and there are a number of misguided directorial decisions as well as some unintentionally laughable moments. What's it all about? Directed and co-written by Madonna, W.E. stars Abbie Cornish as Wally, an unhappily married modern-day Manhattan socialite who becomes obsessed with the story of Wallis Simpson (Andrea Riseborough), whose possessions are being auctioned at Sotheby's. Wally's fingering of the various opulent objects on display triggers a series of flashbacks to twice-married Wallis' scandalous love affair with Edward, Prince of Wales (James D'Arcy), which eventually lead to his abdication after he refused to give her up. At the same time, Wally embarks on her own love affair with Evgeni (Oscar Isaac), a poetry-reading Russian security guard she meets at the auction house. The Good Andrea Riseborough is excellent as Wallis and there's genuine chemistry between her and D'Arcy's Edward, particularly in their earlier courtship scenes. Cornish does her best as Wally, but her under-developed character is largely there to reflect and echo Wallis' story (and, arguably, stand in for Madonna herself, who shares Wally's obsession with Wallis), while super-sensitive Evgeni seems more like a fantasy than a fully-fledged character. Consequently, the modern-day scenes seem largely superfluous and don't really work in their own right. The Bad It also doesn't help that the dialogue is often painfully flat, while there are some questionable directorial decisions (such as having an old-age prosthetic make-up plastered Wallis dance the Twist for an ailing Edward) that backfire badly and result in scenes that are unintentionally laughable. That said, Madonna also makes some brave decisions that almost work, such as the critically maligned moment where a 1930s dance sequence is soundtracked by the Sex Pistols' Pretty Vacant; indeed, if that kind of thing hadn't been limited to the occasional scene, the film might have been a lot more fun. The other problem with the modern-day strand is that it ends up making the film a good 20 minutes too long, while the less said about Madonna's presentation of Mohammed Al-Fayed (Haluk Bilginer), the better (she might has well have given him angel-style backlighting and a celestial choir). Worth seeing? While not quite the disaster it's been painted as elsewhere, the messy script ensures that W.E. never quite delivers on an emotional level, despite strong performances from Riseborough and D'Arcy.

How can you not love Liz Smith!?
From the Liz Smith blog on wowowow.com: “IT’S REDUCTIVE.”
Those two words, uttered by Madonna, in response to ABC-TV’s Cynthia McFadden’s question about a Lady Gaga song, has “gone viral,” as they say.
Even better, when McFadden, who certainly knows what the word means, asked Madonna to define it, M coyly said, “Look it up!”
Apparently, a lot of people have. Now, I keep hearing the word, generally accompanied with a laugh and a reference to the pop icon. Madonna has taught us much over the years, now she’s revived a word rarely used. (Well, I’ve always said if Madonna hadn’t gone into music, she would have stayed in Michigan and become Miss Ciccone, the stern English teacher.)
It was this benign answer about Gaga that became part of the Elton John/ David Furnish’s attack on Madonna, after she won a Golden Globe for best original song on Sunday night. The song is titled “Masterpiece” from her coming film, “W.E.” (Elton’s effort was “Hello, Hello” from the flop animated movie “Gnomeo and Juliet.”) Aside from ripping Madonna’s song, the pair declared - on Twitter and Facebook - that Madonna’s “attack” on Gaga “shows how desperate she is.”
Goodness, I didn’t get that at all. Madonna has no inclination to trash Gaga. But she is certainly within her rights to imply, gently, that Lady G. has appropriated some aspects of her image, sound and message. Music critics were the first, in fact, to point out the similarities between Gaga’s “Born This Way” and M’s “Express Yourself.”
Elton John, who has been a star since 1970, feels he has earned the right to be perennially cranky and opinionated. Fine. And he does wonderful charity work.
But I think Madonna, who has been a star since 1983, has earned the right to answer a question honestly, from her point of view. Or to accept an award, if she wins one.
Elton has had a bee in his bonnet about Madonna for years. At various times he has criticized her singing, dancing, her right to be a star, even. She has rarely responded.
In this case, however, it is Elton who appears to be “desperate.” Back in the day, Madonna could be ungracious and careless in her remarks, but I never recall her attacking another performer in this manner, or publicly declaring she should have won an award instead of somebody else. (Perhaps she learned her lesson when, in the midst of a wave of positive reviews and publicity for “Evita” - and a Golden Globe win - she said she thought she deserved to be nominated for an Oscar, too. The Academy was not amused.)
The truth is, most of the public has never heard either Elton or Madonna’s song. Why carry on so?
Oh, “reductive?” It means something is the same, only less.
