So many re-entries and Lifehouse still can't enter the chart! So frustrating! If it could chart even if for just one week at the Hot 100 I'll be happy Marry You by Bruno Mars is still on the chart long after the Glee exposure. Next single perhaps? For The First Time is back! I really wish this song would be a hit but I know it's a long shot, it will likely be an AC hit.

I'm surprised Peacock is doing better than the next confirmed single (E.T.) - #18 on Bubbling Under and reached #1 on the dance charts earlier. Is Peacock getting any airplay? I don't get how it's so high on the Bubbling Under chart. E.T. has yet to go for adds. I don't think there's a lot of room for pre-adds date spins when her 3 previous singles are still racking up huge amounts of airplay.

I hear "Jar of Hearts" quite a bit on a local top 40 station- talk about a long climb. it first charted when it was used on So You Think You Can Dance, correct?

Both Peacock and Last Friday Night both are getting spins at pop(only 15-30)but it's telling that thoes two are getting pre-spins(and have been for a while)and ET hasn't with it being rumored/announced as the next single. I'm not worried though, ET is a good song so I have faith :) And I'm lovin' the Firework longevity! Amazing era Katy is having :) Can't wait til next week's chart with Brit at #1 and hopefully Avril top 10 :)

Peacock is probably also getting attention because the boys who spoofed "California Gurls" also did a spoof video for "Peacock" which I've seen in a bunch of bars. It's received over 5 million YouTube views.

it's probably best they hold off for a tad bit with E.T. anyways till the Britney hype has died down some. It's not helping Blow any.

Rihanna might have 5 songs on next week if S&M keeps increasing. Doesn't she already have 5? WMN, OG, LTWYL, Who's That Chick, All Of The Lights

im pretty sure marry you is announded for next^ and yes all in needs to debut Marry You is a fine song and it has an unprecedented staying power on the chart with minimal help of the radio (surprisingly!). However, I would go with "The Other Side" as the next single. It is the best song of this album, it features B.o.B and CLG, the two (together with BM) that are going to make some noise at the Grammys this year. On another note, TOS may have a similar sound to Grenade (albeit a faster beat), so Marry You may be the next one. And don't forget Count On You has been the next best-selling non-single from his album (and it receives unsolicited airplay as well). It has a very different sound from the two single released. Who know? All we know is that Bruno is going to get at least 4 #1s from this album

The Spears numbers are mighty for out-of-the-gate airplay. of course the gains are going to lessen severely after the first week is complete. Will it go on to become her biggest-peaking airplay hit (which is No. 6 on Hot 100 Airplay)? Stay tuned.

So Rihanna has the song to cross 160+M since 'Lollipop' right? But didn't Mediabase just add a bunch of stations to the pop panel that cause big increases for songs high on the pop chart? That would sort of make the comparison irrelevant.

BRITNEY SPEARS - Hold It Against Me: 41.934 (+ 7.649)
In hope she passes 50M before the cut. Rhy and HAC are also giving her good spins, hopefully this means she's finally crossing over.

I just can't believe how radio is so reluctant to give Edward Maya any more spins?!?! The song is still in the top 15 on itunes - why is it stalling in airplay? What a load of $hit!

Spears has charted on Rhythmic and Hot AC before, so she's crossed over several times before- however, those formats will only give her music so much airplay- it will never be comparable to the pay that she gets at pop radio.

Both formats have changed alot since her last release 3 charted on both formats. HOT AC has been more friendly with dance oriented songs (see Rihanna's Only Girl In The World, Taio Cruz's Dynamite and Usher's DJ Got Us Fallin In Love). I wouldn't be suprised to see her get her first top 20 hit. Katy Perry's singles have all gone top 15 on rhythmic with Firework and California Gurls having gone top 10. I can see her getting her first top 20 hit there since Toxic. She never really had a single that were around the top 40 on both of those formats this early on.

Rihanna is so damn high in airplay yet it was only like #9 in digital sales last week? It's digital performance is very disappointing considering it's been riding high on top of the airplay charts for a while now.

You say this practically every day. You do understand that airplay is not some hegemonic thing, right, it's composed of a bunch of different formats. Songs that get super high AI are songs that cross over to lots of formats. Stereo Love is pretty much a strictly CHR song. Its airplay is quite good for that. You seem shocked that a song by a new, foreign artist with little crossover appeal isn't automatically #1. It's doing way better than I would have ever guessed.

A lot of artists have had more than 7 songs on the chart at a time. I know that Taylor had like 13 or something but were they actual singles... IDK that was common. Who are the artists that have accomplished this? Eminem? Lil Wayne?
