I think gaga will get two more weeks and then Britney might just debut at 1 following gaga/rihanna/katy for #1 in the oncoming weeks. Britney's not going to have another #1 debut so fast. circus wasnt long after womanizer and it debuted at 3. this song will likley have more airplay than circus, and it wont be released the week of the album

Spears' next track probably will not rival HIAM's sales- "Circus" entered at No. 3 when it went on sale. And, HIAM isn't holding up as well as "Womanizer," correct? if the March 14th date that's floating around for "Till The World Ends" is true, that's a Monday, while IIRC "Hold It..." was released on January 11th (a Tuesday), so it'll have a slight edge in that respect. and looking at just this week as an example, "Till The World Ends" would need to sell roughly 350k to debut in the Top 2, 400k to debut on top (and this is assuming it'll have 0 airplay). it's not guaranteed, but it's still very possible that this will debut higher than "Circus" did, and it won't need HIAM's 411k to do so. Circus debut album week and only sold 60k less than Womanizer and was rivaling Single Ladies and Live your live in December. regardless of HIAM not holding up to Womanizer...timing will have to be perfect. I see either a #2 or #1 debut. Hopefully, it can debut at #1 so she will tie Mariah having the most #1 debuts in hot 100 history and also be the only artist ever to have 3 back to back #1 debuts...which is why I would have done it a week later but oh well. Has anyone ever had two #1 singles before an album release :o

F**K You might make it to #1 if he somehow gets passed GaGa in airplay and sales. The gap has been sigificantly closer this week. That would be great but sales will have to pick up steam. It would be great if Ceelo, Riri, Katy, and britney could spend a week at #1...oh and Pink but probably unlikely now... :'(

1. Lady Gaga, "Born This Way." The song logs its third week at #1. Digital sales rank: #1 (286K). 2. Cee Lo Green's "F**k You (Forget You)." The song holds at #2 in its 27th week. This is its fourth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #2 (252K). 3. Bruno Mars, "Grenade." The former #1 song holds at #3 in its 22nd week. This is its 14th week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #9 (140K). 4. P!nk, "F**kin' Perfect." The song from #6 to #4 in its ninth week. This is its fifth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #8 (143K). 5. Rihanna, "S&M." The racy song jumps from #7 to #5 in its seventh week. This is its third week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #5 (169K). 6. Katy Perry, "Firework." The former #1 song dips from #5 to #6 in its 19th week. This is its 17th week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #12 (115K). 7. Enrique Iglesias featuring Ludacris & DJ Frank E, "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)." The song rebounds from #9 to #7 in its 14th week. This is its xxth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #19 (83K). 8. Katy Perry featuring Kanye West, "E.T." The song jumps from #28 to #8 in its third week. It's Perry's seventh top 10 hit. It's also West's seventh as a featured artist. Digital sales rank: #4 (170K). 9. Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull, "On The Floor," 170,000. This new entry is Lopez's ninth top 10 hit (as a lead artist). It's Pitbull's third as a featured artist, following Enrique Iglesias's "I Like It" and Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love." Digital sales rank: #3 (170K). 10. Dr. Dre featuring Eminem and Skylar Grey, "I Need A Doctor." The song drops from #4 to #10 in its fourth week. This is its third week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #6 (156K). Jennifer Lopez is back in the top 10 (as a lead artist) for the first time in eight years. "On The Floor" (featuring Pitbull) enters The Hot 100 at #9. It's J.Lo's ninth top 10 hit (as a lead artist); her first since "All I Have" (featuring LL Cool J) topped the chart for four weeks in February and March 2003. Lopez's recording career has been fairly cold for the past five years. Her last song (as a lead artist) to make the top 20 was "Get Right" in 2005. J.Lo's weekly exposure as a judge on American Idol seems to have helped re-establish her credibility as a hit-maker. Of course, that gig isn't always enough to revive a stalled recording career: "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow" by Paula Abdul & Randy Jackson petered out at #62 years ago. Six of Lopez's nine top 10 hits (as a lead artist) have been collaborations. So she was an early adapter to one of the key trends of the past decade. She teamed with Ja Rule for "I'm Real" and "Ain't It Funny"; with Nas for "I'm Gonna Be Alright"; with Jadakiss & Styles for her most famous hit, "Jenny From The Block"; and with LL Cool J for "All I Have." Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" holds at #1 for the third straight week. It's the first song to debut at #1 and stay there for three or more weeks since Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" in 1998. It's the first song by a female artist to do this since Mariah Carey's "Honey" in 1997. It's Gaga's second song to spend three weeks at #1, following her first hit, "Just Dance" (featuring Colby O'Donis). "Born This Way" has sold 1,243,000 copies in its first three weeks, a total topped by only one song in digital history: Flo Rida's "Right Round," which sold 1,430,000 copies in its first three weeks. "Born This Way" is a purposeful song, with a message about self-esteem and, specifically, gay acceptance. "Right Round" is about as message-free as a song can get. Future cultural historians may look back on this week as significant, for better or worse. On Sunday, Melissa Leo became the first Oscar winner in 83 years to blurt out "the F word" in accepting an award (Best Supporting Actress for The Fighter). This week, for the first time ever, two songs with "the F word" in their titles appear in the top five. Cee Lo Green's "F**k You (Forget You)" holds at #2, while P!nk's "F**kin' Perfect" jumps from #7 to #5. Finally, "F**k You (Forget You)" tops the 3 million mark in paid downloads. There appears to be a generational divide about whether this is a troubling trend or just a sign of increased frankness. Diana Ross appeared on Oprah! last week and said that she doesn't like to hear "the F word" in songs (though she didn't cite any particular song). Oprah agreed. But they're both over 55. People under 30 probably don't see it as a deal. There hasn't been much resistance to "F*** You (Forget You)." The song tops the 3 million mark in its 27th week, which is five weeks faster than the last song to reach the 3 million mark: the completely unobjectionable "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" by Usher featuring Pitbull. "F*** You (Forget You)" has surpassed the sales of Green's previous smash, Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy," which has sold 2,908,000 copies since its release in 2006. That song logged seven weeks at #2 on the Hot 100. "F**k You (Forget You)" is currently in its second week at #2. Will it make it to #1 or also be turned away? Stay tuned. Katy Perry's "E.T." (featuring Kanye West) jumps from #28 to #8. It's the fourth song from Perry's Teenage Dream album to crack the top 10. This surpasses Perry's debut, One Of The Boys, which spawned three top 10 hits. "E.T." is the third top 10 hit in less than three years on which West has backed a female artist, following Estelle's "American Boy" and Keri Hilson's "Knock You Down." Bruno Mars' "Grenade" has been #1 on Nielsen SoundScan's "year-to-date" chart every week so far this year. As of this week, it has sold 1,468,000 copies in 2011. Mars may well wind up in the year-end top 10 for the second year in a row. "Just The Way You Are" was the #8 best-seller of 2010. The song brought Mars a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. Two songs drop out of the top 10 this week. "Never Say Never" by Justin Bieber featuring Jaden Smith drops from #8 to #23. Wiz Khalifa's former #1 hit "Black And Yellow" drops from #10 to #18. Ke$ha is closing in on her sixth top 10 hit on the Hot 100 (as a lead artist) as "Blow" jumps from #32 to #11. (Digital sales rank: #10, 129K). Adele lands her first top 20 hit on the Hot 100 as "Rolling In The Deep" jumps from #26 to #13. (Digital sales rank: #7, 151K). "Chasing Pavements," the biggest hit from Adele's debut album, peaked at #21. Two other Adele songs enter the chart. "Someone Like You" (which is #1 in the U.K. for the second week) bows at #65. "Set Fire To The Rain" opens at #88. Adele's current album rang up the biggest one-week sales by any album since Thanksgiving. But you already know that if you read Chart Watch: Albums. If you missed it, here's a link. Three more songs by the Glee cast invade the Hot 100. Their rendition of the Human League's 1982 smash "Don't You Want Me" debuts at #49, followed by their take on Jamie Foxx featuring T-Pain's "Blame It" (which they re-titled "Blame It On The Alcohol") (#55) and Ke$ha's "TiK ToK" (#61). "On My Level" by Wiz Khalifa featuring Too Short bows at #52. Wiz Khalifa's "Black And Yellow" reached #1. "Roll Up" stalled at #48...The Nickelodeon group Big Time Rush debuts at #79 with "Boyfriend" (featuring Snoop Dogg)....Mike Posner vies for his third top 20 hit as "Bow Chicka Wow Wow" (featuring Lil Wayne) debuts at #82. Gospel star Kirk Franklin debuts at #97 with "I Smile." Aaron Lewis bows at #100 with "Country Boy," from his country solo debut album which will enter The Billboard 200 next week. Lewis made the Hot 100 in 2001 with a live version of "Outside," with the helpful billing, Aaron Lewis from Staind (with Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit). (If only all billings were that clear!) Randy Newman's "We Belong Together" from Toy Story 3 won the Oscar for Best Original Song. Newman is the only songwriter to win the award twice in the past decade. His "If I Didn't Have You" from Monsters, Inc. won the award for 2001. Newman was nominated for his songs from the first two Toy Story movies: "You've Got A Friend In Me" and "When She Loved Me." Before he became a top film composer, Newman was a highly respected singer/songwriter. He wrote Three Dog Night's #1 hit "Mama Told Me (Not To Come") and the much-covered "I Think It's Going To Rain Today." Newman's only top 40 hit as an artist was "Short People," which reached #2 in 1978. "Tonight I'm Lovin' You" by Enrique Iglesias featuring Ludacris & DJ Frank E tops the 2 million mark this week. It's Iglesias' second song in a row to top 2 million. "I Like It" (featuring Pitbull) has sold 3,216,000. Britney Spears lands her eighth million-selling digital hit this week with "Hold It Against Me." (Several of her biggest hits preceded the opening of the iTunes store in 2003). Spears' seven other million sellers, according to Nielsen SoundScan, are: "Womanizer" (3,133,000), "Circus" (2,785,000), "3" (2,070,000), "Piece Of Me" (1,680,000), "Gimme More" (1,637,000), "Toxic" (1,569,000) and "If You Seek Amy" (1,184,000). Justin Bieber lands his fifth million seller with "Never Say Never" (featuring Jaden Smith ). The hit follows "Baby" (featuring Ludacris) (2,916,000), "One Time" (2,161,000), "Eenie Meenie" (a collabo with Sean Kingston) (1,265,000) and "One Less Lonely Girl" (1,058,000). Jaden Smith is the third member of the Smith family to land a million-seller. His dad, Will Smith, has had several million-sellers. His sister, Willow, is up to 1,191,000 with "Whip My Hair." "Rocketeer" by Far*East Movement featuring Ryan Tedder tops the 1 million mark. Far*East Movement's initial hit, "Like A G6," is up to 3,337,000. Tedder has had two giant hits with OneRepublic: "Apologize" (4,944,000) and "Stop And Stare" (2,149,000). Source

touche but he sad it always rounds up sorry, I could have been a bit clearer. I did say: I'm completely guessing at their exact totals, but the fact that Billboard lists them both at 170k just means they both sold between 169.5k and 170k, not necessarily the EXACT same amount.I could be wrong, but I'm assuming that Billboard rounds up from the 500 and down for less than 500. so 299,500 would be 300,000 and 299,499 would be 299,000. maybe Billboard does round up for even 299,001.

If it sells 170,499, Billboard will say 170,000. crystalphnx98 supposition is right. It is called rounding to the nearest thousand. The Wikipedia article is quite long, I'm not sure it was helpful at all -- sorry.

Songs that have been on the chart for 25+ weeks. Looks like "Dynamite" will easily make it to the 40-week mark. "JTWYA" could also hit that mark, but it needs to hang on for two more months. "F**k You* has the potential as well, but not sure it will hit 40 weeks.

If the song is released tomorrow then there's a 95% chance that it won't debut at #1

TTWE isn't debuting at #1. There's not enough hype about it and I don't think many people even know it's being released. Too soon IMO.

Although I'm pretty sure it won't happen, I'd love for Cee-Lo to make it to #1 even if just for a week!

www.billboard.com/column/chartbeat/ask-billboard-katy-perry-kylie-minogue-cee-1005059512.storyWith this week's 28-8 Billboard Hot 100 blast for "E.T." and another week in the top 10 for "Firework," Katy Perry has moved into a three-way tie with Mariah Carey and Santana for second place in the sweepstakes for most consecutive weeks in the top 10 as a lead artist.Perry's 42-week streak, dating to the No. 2 debut of "California Gurls" on the chart dated May 29, 2010, and continuing with "Teenage Dream," "Firework" and "E.T.," featuring Kanye West, equals the runs of Carey beginning Sept. 30, 1995 (encompassing "Fantasy," "One Sweet Day" and "Always Be My Baby") and Santana starting Sept. 4, 1999 ("Smooth" and "Maria Maria"). With the fourth single from "Teenage Dream" now reaching the top 10, it's possible that Perry will surpass the 48-week leader, whose record run began Oct. 16, 1993. (See if you can guess who it is before reading the next sentence). The record belongs to ... Ace of Base, with "All That She Wants," "The Sign" and "Don't Turn Around."

and Santana did it with only 2 songs, WOW. Those songs had crazy longevity, i remember. And yay for Katy. Even if E.T. falls to #11, i think Firework will stay in the top 10 for one more week. And then hopefully E.T. jumps back in.

Oh, I hope she doesn't beat the Ace Of Base record. Those three singles were HUGE!

Agreeing with Blue Swan here. Those AOB sings were great! And then they pretty much disappeared. They didn't disappear, they were abandoned by the radio and buying people.. They're still around - with new vocalists though. Saw them live last autumn :)
