another sausage-fest after such a female-dominated year? Maybe they're just waiting to announce all the ladies...

I'll be pretty surprised if Katy Perry and Lady Gaga aren't performing. Nicki should too.

VMA 2011: A Tribute to Britney Spears.
"Artists will perform a tribute featuring a single from each of Spears' 6 first albums - "...Baby, One More Time", "Oops!... I Did It Again", "Slave 4 U", "Toxic", "Gimme More", "Circus". Spears will take the stage to perform "Hold It Against Me" and "I Wanna Go", before being honored with the VMAs Video Vanguard Award for Lifetime Achievement in Video."

Yeah where is the write-up from? From a delusional fan But damn, I'm excited to watch the VMA this year. Was not interested last year as I knew it would be a downgrade from 2009, but this year seems really action packed with all the divas releasing music at the same time. With that said, I have a feeling Britney might win her nominations? Why not. She's there lols

I'd love a Britney tribute. It'd be fun to watch a bunch of talented singers sing her songs and show that while Britney may not be the most proficient singer, she brings something to her songs that is difficult to match.

New Performer: Confirmed By GaGaDaily:gagadaily.com/2011/08/lady-gaga-vma/Lady Gaga, who is up for four MTV Video Music Awards, including Best Female Video and Best Video with a Message for “Born This Way,” has been added to the list of performers at this year’s show. This will be Gaga’s second performance at the award ceremony, her first being back in 2009, when she bled to death in a rendition of “Paparazzi.”

So now it's...
Adele Britney Spears Bruno Mars Chris Brown Lady Gaga Lil' Wayne Young The Giant
That's a good lineup. I'd like to see Nicki Minaj and Kanye West/Jay-Z added. I think Foster The People and either Coldplay or RHCP would be great additions too.
And I'm sure Katy will be added.

Interesting line-up. I can't imagine any of those artists doing any sort of Britney song. (Except for Britney doing HIAM/IWG of course...) It's very ironic since Janet was the intended artist for I'm a Slave 4 U, but she passed it on.

How can MTV honor her when they basically ignored her 8 years into her career?

That looks like a mess is what it looks like. I know it is so fake...but entertaining. I don't want gaga to do a britney song. And Janet should never pay tribute to Britney... I would love for Janet to present to Britney but I would pull for Madonna more than anything. Madonna makes a speech to intro the Video montague (sp) to include songs that are not going to be performed like: Sometimes, Stronger, Not a girl, Everytime, Piece of me, Womanizer and Till the world ends... Then: Selena-Baby one more time Miley-Oops... Rihanna-Slave Jason Derulo-Toxic Nicki but if Ceelo is going to tribute then so be it-Gimme more Ke$ha-Circus Britney (Hold it against me/I I I wanna go o o) After the standing ovation... Madonna presents her with the award and she gives a brief speech and then the rest doesn't matter at that point.

Sounds like a mess but I can't wait. It'll be nice to see Ke$ha, Demi, Katy and Selena ruin her songs, hopefully it'll make people appreciate her more.
