I hope it's fake. I want Adele to perform something. Particularly one of her ballads.

That lineup is ALMOST plausible....but Janet? and Janet in the middle of the tribute? The rest of the lineup is almost believable...even Gaga... because they all came after Britney and could be argued that they all took a little bit of something from her game. but IF Janet were to do it, wouldn't it be more likely that she was the last one to be brought out before Brit, or even better, her and Brit perform side-by-side as a finale?

I bet it's fake, but I'm all for it if Demi is involved.

So now it's... Adele Britney Spears Bruno Mars Chris Brown Lady Gaga Lil' Wayne Young The Giant That's a good lineup. I'd like to see Nicki Minaj and Kanye West/Jay-Z added. I think Foster The People and either Coldplay or RHCP would be great additions too. And I'm sure Katy will be added. Sony must get FTP performing.. They'll make a big profit of it as the band is this close to make it big.

The fact that people are even questioning the validity of this is really sad. I doubt any actual artists will be doing a tribute to her, it will probably just be dancers doing her trademark routines or something. And I doubt Britney herself is hitting the stage for a performance.

There's a fake VMA line-up every year; it's tired, really.

Oh this is just like last year when that supposed list of winners was "leaked"......and we all know how that went.

Oh god, these britney fans are too f**king much...this is what someone wrote on another forum " Check out this rumored breakdown of Britney's MTV VMA Tribute special. 00:20: Intro Video (ft. Inside Out/Mickey Mouse Club Theme) 01:10: ...Baby One More Time (Selena Gomez) 00:55: I'm A Slave 4 U (Miley Cyrus) 00:45: Toxic (Demi Lovato) 01:00: 3 (Selena/Miley/Demi) 01:15: Hold It Against Me (Katy Perry/Rihanna) 00:25: Till The World Ends-Rap Verse (Nicki Minaj) 00:15: Till The World Ends-Acapella (Britney Spears) 02:35: (Drop Dead) Beautiful (Britney Spears ft. Sabi) The entire production will run 8 minutes, and will open the show. The introductory video will be eerie, and will feature a home video of a six year old Britney Spears playing with Barbies. This will lead into Selena Gomez singing "...Baby" in a signature school girl outfit. Followed by Miley Cyrus, whispering "...I know I may be young..." with a snake draped around her neck. Then, Demi Lovato enters rises from the center of the stage with a sequined costume on. As Demi's song ends, all girls strut to left stage, put on Mickey Mouse ears and sing "3" in a manner that will surely have people talking the next day. (Hint..Hint...think 2003) As their shocking performance ends, lights fade up on Katy Perry who is soon joined by Rihanna in singing "Hold It Against Me". As their song ends, Nicki Minaj comes from the back of the audience wearing a ringleader outfit and singing her "World Ends" verse. As she finishes, all eyes shift to Britney who performs her song with Sabi. (Details of this will be available later) Before Video of the Year is presented, there will be a video monage of Britney videos with excerpts of stars thanking Britney for her contributions to music including: Miley Cyrus (confirmed), Lady Gaga (confirmed), Justin Timberlake (unconfirmed), Selena Gomez (confirmed), Joe Jonas (confirmed), Will.I.Am (unconfirmed), and Christina Aguilera (unconfirmed). As the video ends, Madonna enters the stage, makes a brief statement and presents Britney the Lifetime Achievement Award. "

doesn't Katy Perry have a concert the night of the VMAs? Doesn't that means she will most likely not going to be in the tribute

MTV has never given a "Lifetime Achievement Award"- perhaps it's something like Video Vanguard? Not that the body of Spears' video work is amazing or anything, but she has been one of MTV's biggest stars since her debut.

Considering the mentality of that channel, I'm sure adding 1+1 is a challenge for some of these folks. Glad they think honoring an act by having others perform their work is "unique". Yeah MTV, way to think outside the box on that one.
Not that I'm not thrilled with the Britney tribute, because I am, but they're so full of shit sometimes. Why not just say, "we wanted ratings and Britney is iconic" instead of trying to pass it off as some sort of "honoring" or "unique". I guess they probably feel bad snubbing her all those years.

00:20: Intro Video (ft. Inside Out/Mickey Mouse Club Theme) BWAHAHAHA! No. 01:10: ...Baby One More Time (Selena Gomez) 00:55: I'm A Slave 4 U (Miley Cyrus) 00:45: Toxic (Demi Lovato) 01:00: 3 (Selena/Miley/Demi) 01:15: Hold It Against Me (Katy Perry/Rihanna) I could actually see that. 00:25: Till The World Ends-Rap Verse (Nicki Minaj) 00:15: Till The World Ends-Acapella (Britney Spears) Britney... a capella? 02:35: (Drop Dead) Beautiful (Britney Spears ft. Sabi) Uhuh.... Like this would actually be true...

LMAO. I hope there is no Selena/Miley/Demo convo anywhere in this tribute. They should have Justin and Xtina in it tho.

There is no buzz around the VMAs this year. I predict the ratings will suck.

Just thought I'd bring it here, rumor has it that Gaga's 'special announcement' to come after her video premiere on Thursday evening could be that she is hosting the VMA's.

MTV is blowing it this year. We're just under 2 weeks away and STILL very few performers confirmed, a BS tribute, and no confirmation of a host.

Well between Gaga hosting, Britney's tribute, and Beyonce performing, it's enough for them to pull huge ratings I think.

By this time for the past two years, I was seeing commercials and ads everywhere for it! Well true...the only VMA spot I've seen on TV is Lil Wayne's. I figure when they announce Gaga is hosting, there will be a huge spike in interest though. They already have the Brit stans appeased to tune in.
