It's hard to believe. Katy has been having this great weeks at #1, with huge leads over the other contenders, and now Rihanna manages to sneak in with barely a 10k difference thanks to a rushed remix that's almost out of itunes top 10 by now. Makes you wonder why some people still won't give her credit for all these numerous one-week #1's. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Congrats!!! Ten down 9 more to go. According to Joel Whitburn, The Beatles have twenty. Male artists do not count on Pulse.

Good thing it seems they are not going to slap Britney's name on to the chart run for "S&M". While the remix helped it get to #1 due to the sales boost, Britney Spears shouldn't be getting credit for the run of a song that was already #1 in airplay and a huge sales hit before the remix with her even came out.

And honestly, weeks like this (or like the last few ones of last year, when WMN?, OG, and RYG hit #1) makes the chart game exciting.
It's better this than what it was in 2002-2005 when the chart was almost a carbon copy of the Airplay one and it was slow moving.
Like Rihanna would say.... ¨I like it-like it¨

Yeah but the Brintey fans all rushed to buy it in hopes that she would have yet another 1 week number 1

This was fun... Lady Gaga needs to drop her video so we can do it again next week.

Well TBH they both deserve it IMO, because without one another, the song wouldn't be #1.

As well it should be. The remix garned very little airplay. It would be like Jadakiss and Styles P getting credit for Mariah's WBT just because they were on the remix.

Rihanna's team is one of the smartest in the game. They knew they were going to miss it naturally so specifically chose the one fanbase that they knew would guarantee them a #1 since she was so close already. Very, very smart business.

Rihanna may have used her to get a Hot 100 #1 but Britney is getting paid for jumping on a big hit so I highly doubt she's complaining.

According to Joel Whitburn, The Beatles have twenty. Male artists do not count on Pulse. Oh yes I forgot. Shame that it's mostly men who wrote the songs for all the female artists.

Will S&M be able stay in the top 5 next week? It looks like it could be headed for a steep drop next week.

It's not surprising that Britney gets credit. Not b/c it's the right thing but b/c the label would likely want credit. Ke$ha should have been credited for 'Right Round' but her name was taken off b/c that's what the label (and she?) wanted and Billboard obliged. I highly doubt Britney and her team would even entertain the idea of doing a collaboration w/o making sure they get something out of it. As Riri continually said in interviews, she was completely surprised Britney wanted to do this b/c Britney does not do features. I highly doubt Britney's team would just hand Rihanna as something as exclusive as a Britney feature w/o getting something in return.

If TTWE goes #1 from the Rihanna remix, she will have 4 #1s in a row, and Rihanna will have 6!!
Britney : 3, HIAM, S&M, TTWE Rihanna : Rude Boy, LTWYL, OG, WMN, S&M, TTWE

If TTWE goes #1 from the Rihanna remix, she will have 4 #1s in a row, and Rihanna will have 6!! You're forgetting about Who's That Chick which broke her streak. Rih's longest #1 streak is 3 I believe, with WMN, OG and LTWYL.

On a related note, Billboard has not yet decided if Spears will be removed from the credits when the original overtakes it in points.
