This single "leaked" on purpose. Beyonce's single has been seen and heard in many places and it hasn't leaked yet. No coincidence that Judas leaked 4 days early and Judas betrayed Jesus 4 days before Easter. Another subtle reference she's making. She was retweeting the Soundcloud leaks. She clearly didn't have an issue with it. |

Sorry Gaga fans, but I think you fail to realise that S&M and ET have been selling VERY well all week. And just because "Judas: is #1 on iTunes by a large margin, there is still the main version of S&M and the original version of "E.T."
Gaga barely pulled ahead of "S&M" in terms of sales early early this morning. And her airplay is not doing as well as speculated. Don't forget S&M and E.T. will be tied on airplay at nearly at ~127. Again, this song is NOT "Born This Way." With only 2 days left, I'm sorry but "Judas" looks to debut at #3 behind "S&M" and "E.T" It may pull ahead next week, but this week it's all about S&M. I believe both S&M and "E.T" will beat out Gaga this week in sales alone. 2 days outselling the Top 2 songs at 1.5 is still not enough, she'll average out as selling 70% of what they are daily.

If you're calling the remix pathetic because of the intention of securing a better chart position, then what's the point of even following the charts. There are countless examples of labels and artists tweaking songs to improve their chart performance and now it's pathetic?

I think the song lyrically clever as well with its double meaning and her trying to get the church off her back with the "jesus is my virtue" line. :) |

Or have cake parties for each #1 like one diva. |

Judas will sell around 160 + 20 AI = 180 charting pts. Can f**k You (110k last week, 100 AI) , Born THis Way (110k last week, 70 AI), Rolling In the Deep (124k last week, 50 AI) , On the Floor (125k last week, 50k AI) chart higher than Judas? Uhm, let me see, debut outside top 5 (it only takes 2 out of these songs chart higher than Judas. Of course fuck you, btw sales are falling)  ETA: i forgot look at me now (126k, 71AI) and Down On Me (101k, 95 AI). Falling in sales as well. |

Well, I'm sure Rihanna's team (not sure about Rihanna herself) is starting to be desperate to score as many #1s as possible. Rihanna is currently the only active recording artist with the biggest potential to surpass Mariah. The tactic is doing many collaborations to score #1 easier. It's legal though.

Yes, I heard that her ppl wanted her to collaborate with Britney for the remix, but I'm sure she wasn't sitting there thinking 'oooh, this is how I can get another #1 single.
Outside of this remix, I think most of those collaborations she did was b/c ppl wanted her on their record. Who's going to turn down that kind of money, especially when all you have to do is sing a few hooks and get credit for it? I think it's just easy money for her.

No, you, don't, Beysus. :) That certain diva realized how ridiculous it was that she had that dream- she was like, "THIS is what I'm dreaming about." Back in 1996 (a few months after that dream story), she also claimed to not know that she had the most hits or whatever when Bryant Gumbel mentioned it (which I don't know if I believe), and that she thought Whitney had passed her. Gumbel said she was closing in fast and she's like, "Who cares, it's just a bunch of lists, what do they mean..." He also asked her if she cared if this female or that female passed her in hits, and she said no- that they can't do what she does (which I gather she meant in terms of performing and provocation in her work on a range of topics).
In all likelihood, most mainstream acts do enjoy doing well. It's one thing to enjoy doing well, but it's another matter when doing well is what dictates one's music-making and bulk of career.
