Carrie mention in Blake Shelton's Dos Equis parody: "Carrie Underwood's legs notice Blake Shelton" at the :48 mark. On another note, Mark Bright is producing Scotty McCreery's debut album which is rumored to be dropping at the end of summer. Does anyone know how much that will affect Carrie's upcoming album, if at all? Is it normal for producers to helm two full-length albums at around the same time?

"Quitter" is one of Carrie's best uptempo songs. I hate her 'sassy' songs, because I feel like they aren't authentic. "Undo It" was too catchy to resist, and "Before He Cheats" is a f**king classic. But "Last Name" and "Casanova" didn't feel 'real' to me. Maybe it's because we know Carrie would never go to Vegas and get married in a night, etc. I don't know if I agree with that...I mean, we know Carrie wouldn't destroy someone's car either, but Before He Cheats is still a great song. I think Cowboy Casanova is probably my favorite of the uptempos, although I was really addicted to Last Name at one point too. I really love it when she does Last Name live...one of my favorites to hear her sing live. The difference with "Before He Cheats" was that Carrie brought it on that one. Her voice had swagger, and she had us all believing every word of it. In her similarly produced and themed uptempo songs, she hasn't had the same effect.

I don't have an answer to that, but I would imagine it wouldn't be much of a problem. Recording of Idol winners' debut albums are always rushed out within 1 month or so (like Some Hearts), so I'm guessing Mark's job on Scotty's album would mostly be done before Carrie even starts piecing her album together. I'm just making a guess here, so if anyone has proper info about this, feel free to correct me!

I'd say your reasoning sounds about right. I was honestly just trying to think of any possible scenario that would get Carrie away from Bright. And...OMG. Why do I stay forgetting how much "Wheel of the World" slays? That's gotta be one of the most unappreciated songs in Carrie's catalog thus far. It's the perfect album closer. Carrie really does cover a lot of ground with her ballads.

I completely agree with Wheel of the World. SO unappreciated. I've loved that song since we got the 30 second clips off of her site years ago.

It's my fave album from her, so SCOTTY DIE. Yeah, Mark Bright has pretty much done all of Carrie's albums. Max Martin and Shellback were credited for co-producing the album, but they were only producers on Quitter. The rest, and the rest of Carrie's catalog for that matter, has all been Bright. Dann Huff co-produced a bit of Some Hearts, but again, Bright has done pretty much all of Carrie's music. Heck, he even did There's A Place For Us (someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he did). And CRAP! I should've included Wheel of the World in the poll. #idiot That song made me tear up the first time I heard it.

That thought crossed my mind too, but since he did move in the right direction for PO, I'll try not to be as harsh on him Wheel of the World is severely underappreciated imo too. It's my Top 3 Carrie songs of all time. Like Carrie, my faves never get released... heck even performed on tour! :'(

Well, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that feels that way about WOTW. I don't blame her for dropping it from the setlist, though. It was kinda awkward. The arrangement just didn't capture the magic that is the studio version. I'd love to hear her sing it acoustically at next year's FC party. Let's vote and make that happen, k?

Yeah, WOTW is the perfect album closer. I love her voice on it, very soothing. The production is great too. I feel like basically the whole Carnival Ride album is underappreciated though, almost every song is decent and very memorable and it flows really great aswell, even though it doesn't really have one 'theme'.

Sooo...the Carnival Ride album cover & title surfaced on August 29, 2007 and the Play On album cover & title on August 30, 2009. I know, random, but that just made me realize that we really don't have all that long of a wait. If history repeats itself, of course. And, yes, "Remind Me" has currently peaked at #16 on the iTunes all-genre chart.

True but for both of those albums by the end of the summer the album was coming together and they were ready to pick and release a lead single. This time I think Carrie is taking more time with everything as she is only still mainly in the writing stages as we speak... She is starting to record, but still has writing planned for the time being. So at this point I think a new album won't be out until at least late November. This would put a lead single out in early to mid Fall. Basically everything gets pushed back a few weeks... but what do I know? I'm just overanalyzing things like I usually do...

Right. There's no doubt that the actual recording process is happening much later this time around. However, it doesn't have to take 3 months to record an album. And, Carrie had continued writing throughout the recording of Play On, too, just to see if anything else turned up that absolutely had to make the album. I really could it see it going either way but I'd obviously prefer a lead single in September & an album in November.

I was just thinking (clear the area!). I wonder if Warner Bros. will license Is It Still Over, Carrie Underwood's duet with Randy Travis for HER CD. Imagine that song and Remind Me on ONE CD!

I'm not super crazy about Is It Still Over, so I really hope not.
In other news, since it's been announced that Miranda Lambert is releasing her new album on November 1st, does that change anyone's predictions on when Carrie's new album will be released?

I'm hoping for all new music, and plenty of it. A new cover or two would be nice. But new original material is always the best way to go. I would love more than just 12 or 13 songs too. 15 to 16 would be nice! :)

It would make sense for Sony to release Carrie Underwood's CD and Miranda Lambert's CD during the last quarter to really maximize sales.

Mhm. I was really feelin' that 11/1/11 release date for Carrie. Whatever. Now I'm thinking a single debut at the CMAs with an album to follow in December. Speaking of the CMAs, some big announcement is coming 7/11: Hey guys! This year's CMA Awards are Wednesday, Nov. 9 on ABC...and we have two SUPERSTARS making a special announcement about the show THIS MONDAY (July 11, 10:00 AM/Central) right here on our Facebook page! Have a great weekend!

Two superstars = two hosts, aka, Brad & Carrie. Good reassurance that they're hosting again. (I'm just making assumptions, of course). I'm thinking that the album will get a December release now that Ran's is on 11/1/11.

Ugh. Miranda's album would be out on that day! :( Man I wanted it so badly. 11/1/11 is just such a cool date. :( Oh well. . . I just hope it'll be out before the year ends.
