Wow. I really like that lyric. Especially the lines about "not wanting to call" & "saving tips" and how the car in the 1st verse is referenced in the 2nd - "car's barely running." I mean it's not exactly ground-breaking or anything but quite compelling, I think. And, I love that lyric neither applauds nor condemns the couple's decisions. Can't wait to hear it in full. I completely agree. I really like the storyline, especially that it neither romanticizes nor condescends their choices. If it had been too positive, it could have ended up like other teenage love songs. Too negative, it could have been preachy. I'm excited to hear this now.

LOVE the lyrics for the song. I always love when the songwriters take on a double meaning of the song title or another lyric in the song like they do in this song (the 18 in of the distance b/w head & heart and the 18 in of the baby). I can't wait to hear the full version from Lauren! I bet she will do it very well. I hope this can be a single for her, so maybe Carrie can have a hit song that she didn't sing! I do see amazing potential with just the lyrics of the song though, so I'm excited! :)

Ah "Eighteen Inches" is a great song! Probably my 2nd favorite Carrie co-write that she didn't record next to "Oklahoma Wind".

Strong lyrics. Does she have writing credits on "Temporary Home"? The story structure is similar, and one that works for her (and very suited for Country music).

One of Carrie's greatest strengths as a writer is that she tends to give typical stories a fresh spin. And, she seems to be down to write about pretty much anything. I just wish that she had more of a grasp over details because she's definitely lacking in that department. That's why I wish she would write more with people like Bill Anderson or Natalie Hemby, I think they could offer a lot in regards to imagery.

"Darker, folksy, emotional"
All the words that replay in my head from when she described the album. I seriously can't fucking wait.

I'm going to the Opry tonight to see Carrie, Josh, Randy, etc.
I'll try to take videos of Carrie's performances, especially "Is It Still Over?" that she will most likely sing with Randy.
I'm really hoping for a Josh and Carrie duet, but I doubt that will happen.

I went to the show at the Opry last night! It was my first time there, so I was pretty mesmerized by the whole night! I took pictures and videos of all of Carrie's performances, clips of all her songs other than "Is It Still Over?" and "Cowboy Casanova" which I got the full videos for. I will try to upload those to youtube and show everyone tomorrow because I have a mid-term I need to be studying for tonight! But I just wanted to share with y'all how awesome it was last night! Carrie was stunning last night and sounded wonderful, as always. Josh and Randy were both fantastic as well!

GAH. This is driving me crazy, but I distinctly, distinctly remember Carrie saying in an interview (maybe Billboard Summit?) that she will be doing something involving RM, and we all started speculating an RM Part II or something along those lines. I've tried to figure out where I read this/heard this, and which site the speculation happened on (here, CFans, OFC, etc.), but I seriously can't figure it out. But, if I'm not just dreaming this and what I'm trying to remember actually did happen, maybe it's the video for that...? GAH. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please help. I probably seem looney right now.

I would think it was for something different though as I feel if it was video for a 2nd part to "Remind Me" they would probably use the same video director...

Honestly, it's probably something to do with the CMA's. I do agree that if they were doing something related to RM, they'd probably use the same director.

It could be CMA related. But didn't Carrie say she had something in the works related to RM for her new album... It could be related to her lead single as well.
You know how in R&B you have a lot of responding songs.... like "I Don't Want You Back".... the guy and girl version. This could be one of those... Then again, RM was a duet so I don't know how they could respond to that. It could just be a whole different song, but two Carrie/Brad duets in the same year could be a bit much. I don't know. I'm just speculating, but whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be amazing!

It could be a video that plays behind them as they are doing their duet at the CMA's as well.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please help. It's from this interview - ~0:10: "I'm trying to see if we can't do some special thing w/ that song ["Remind Me"] for the next album." I would think it was for something different though as I feel if it was video for a 2nd part to "Remind Me" they would probably use the same video director... Trevor Trout is an actor. It could be a video that plays behind them as they are doing their duet at the CMA's as well. This makes sense.

I don't remember if this had been talked about before, but I guess Arista is no longer? Does this effect Carrie?
