New co-write registered over at ASCAP: "Alabama Who" - Bobby Hamrick / Kelley Lovelace / Carrie Underwood
Lots of potential here: 01. Talk about an intriguing title. Seriously, what could this even be about? Ideas? Out of all the co-writes that have popped up throughout the entire year thus far, this one easily attracts the most fascination from me. I personally hope it's not some sort of tribute to Alabama, like what Brad did with Old Alabama. Not only that, but I can't see Carrie doing one of those kinds of tribute songs. This one will definitely be a thinker for me. I'm really intrigued. I'm also impressed & very happy to see a brand new writer in the mix! ETA: Just listened to Push On Through. Oh, the strings on that song... :faints: Carrie could do such an outstanding job with that if she were to keep that exact same acoustic vibe that's given on the original. Her in a wooden stool and a single spotlight on her and an acoustic guitarist. That's all that would be needed to make something like this song become such a flawless spectacle at a live show.

probably not. i got a lot of song ideas wrong - based on titles - since the cr era. so im just in for the pleasant surprises. and everyone thought oklahoma wind was a tribute to oklahoma, when it was the exact opposite.
indeed an intriguing title. i hope carrie surprises everyone with the 4th album. in a good way.

Watched the I-Heart Radio concert on TV... well, just Carrie's set for now... and boy, she killed it. It was her best vocal showing since HGTA. BHC sounded especially great as well!

Carrie blogged: - Lots of talk about Thanksgiving dinner which, for the first time, she made entirely by herself.
- She hasn't decided what she's going to do about a Christmas tree yet. It's either grab the one out of the attic or get an ugly one she feels sorry for at the tree-lot.
- Concludes with album talk: She'll be heading back into the studio for the last time in a couple of weeks. It's especially hard now because she's got so many amazing songs to choose from and few spots left to fill at this point in time.

Has there been any talk of Carrie attending the ACA's? I suppose she'd only go if she won something or were presenting/performing. Considering her fanbase won her all of her nominations last year, I'd think it's pretty likely she'll pick up at least one of the four she's nominated for this year. It'd be nice to see her accept an award again.

Who knows what will happen this year. I really hope she does attend (and wins!) so I will be able to see Carrie in person again! Anyways, I'm glad to hear that she's almost entirely done recording! Hopefully this will mean that a Christmas present will be in store for the fans this year.

Carrie let us know a week before the ACAs,when someone asked, that she was attending.I'm guessing if she won something she'll be there again this year.I think the ACAs are like the PCAs - the winners know in advance.

I'm sure you already know this, Typo, but Carrie replied to your thread!
Still hoping for that double disk album, but oh well.

Yep! I saw that last night. She's too cute. The fact that she answered to 'Legendarrie' gave me life.
I know a double-disc is entirely out of the question but seriously we deserve a Deluxe Edition. I mean she's clearly got an abundance of songs, so why not toss us a couple of bonus tracks? At least an iTunes bonus track or something.

I was excited when I heard that they were releasing a PO: DE, but then was let down when I found out that it was seven previously-released singles. (I still bought it though, lol.)

Do any of Sony Music Nashville's (or more specifically Arista Nashville's) artists ever have deluxe editions or anything special like that?

Judging by her tone on the FC, her label seems pretty cheap... I wouldn't expect a double disc either, but a deluxe edition shouldn't be "too expensive" If they play their cards right, they'll make all the money back and more.

I don't think they're cheap. Just behind-the-times. Do any of Sony Music Nashville's (or more specifically Arista Nashville's) artists ever have deluxe editions or anything special like that? Miranda's latest is the only one that comes to mind.

Crying for you rn Tyrell. I'm surprised Carrie said that, tbh. Although speaking out shows she isn't a robot, I hope she keeps the speaking out to a minimum, because I would hate for her to bite the hand that feeds her, if you know what I mean.

I had joked that instead of letting all of the amazing songs she's mentioned go to waste she should release a double-disk album containing all of 'em & then went on to suggest - seriously - that we get a deluxe edition. She jokingly replied that the label would love to pay for a double disk / deluxe edition.
Basically it was just a nice, cute way of saying my expectations were unrealistic.

Honestly Arista Nashville is pretty cheap. After she sold all those millions of Some Hearts, they still gave her those flimsy crappy single-sheet album booklets instead of the glossy multipage ones that someone of her stature should be getting.

After she sold all those millions of Some Hearts, they still gave her those flimsy crappy single-sheet album booklets instead of the glossy multipage ones that someone of her stature should be getting. Not to mention a 13 song limit. She has yet to release an album with more than 13 songs, with the exception of SH. Miranda's latest had 14 on the regular version and the deluxe had 15. Brad's latest had 15.... There are so many more, some albums with close to 20 songs. I don't see why Carrie has to stay at or under 13... Maybe this time around she'll have 14 or 15 and prove me wrong. For the first time in years, album sales have been doing "okay" so maybe a 15 song album is worth the risk?... Although with Carrie's there's no risk because she'll sell either way.

I'm not so sure that it's Carrie's decision as to how many songs will be on the album, but more-so the label's decision. Do they give her a limit, or is it her own judgement?

The one thing I do not want to see Arista doing is a deluxe version of the upcoming Carrie Underwood CD at Target only. I really think that Arista should be getting Underwood as much exposure for her fourth CD as possible, so doing an exclusive retailer thing should be out of the question. Give the fans an outstanding CD the FIRST time.
