I initially didn't think this would work as a single, but it's the highest charting non-single (excluding "Hair" which was a countdown single). This is straight up 90s Shania Twain, but I think it would make for an interesting single. It's certainly one of the "tamer" songs on the album, and it would definitely show people something other than the electropop side of Gaga. It's got a great, straight-forward melody too.

Love, love, love this song. I cannot really explain my love more than that. Ever since "Idol," this song has been in my head.

I love this song! Have since I first heard it live.
However, the album version isn't how I pictured it. I don't care for the Queen sample (mostly because We Will Rock You is one of the few songs I absolutely despise). I actually always imagined the song to be an open-road, mid-tempoed, slightly country-influenced southern rock piano song. How she performed it on a live mp3 I have of it gave me that indication so it's what I got used to. There are aspects to this recording that I like though. It is cute how she threw in "6 long years" and other parts to give it more of a personal touch. I'll get passed the drum beat though, I'm sure. But I won't lie, I was looking forward to it being slightly different. Kinda like a rockier Wallflowers song.

Love love love this. And, no wonder, Mutt produced it! I also love the new and old feeling, not over done, but done perfectly IMO. :)

This MUST be a single. This is like "Speechless" on crack, this is the 2nd best song on the album.

This is definitely my favorite on the album along with TEOG. I had said it reminded me of Shania, then I found out Mutt Lange produced it, so that makes sense. I think a shortened radio edit could be great.

This is one of my favorite songs from Gaga, but for some reason I don't want this to be a single lol.

I love it! A little disappointed because I loved the live version so much, but it's one of the strongest tracks on the album.

At first I was 'whatever' now it's seriously growing and I'm glad it's already getting excellent digital success. Could definitely pull off the single treatment.

After seeing this thread all I'm gonna hear is Shania and Mutt in this now. No wonder Haley's sounded so different.

One of my favs on the record but this SCREAMS Elton John. I can see that comparison. They performed Speechless together on the Grammys... and stylistically, this is just Speechless Pt. II

What does the "6 whole years" bit mean btw?

I assume their on-and-off relationship has been going on for 6 years.

And yes, I don't quite understand the whole "6 whole years" and "Nebraska, Nebraska, I love you!" things. Her relationship with the guy this song is about was on and off for six years, and she keeps saying Nebraska it's because he's from Nebraska.

People apparently don't listen to the song. How can you hear "My cool Nebraska guy" and not realize that's who she's referring to when saying "Nebraska"? It was clearly obvious to me.
