*Beyonce (Columbia) 290-310k Adele (XL/Columbia) 90-95k *Big Sean (Def Jam/IDJ) 85-90k *Selena Gomez & the Scene (Hollywood) 75-80k Jill Scott (Blues Babe/Warner Bros.) 50-55k Jackie Evancho (Columbia) 50-55k Bad Meets Evil (Shady/Interscope) 40-45k Jason Aldean (Broken Bow) 40-45k *David Cook (19/RCA/RMG) 38-43k *Scotty McCreery (Interscope) 38-43k Lady Gaga (Interscope) 35-40k Justin Moore (Valory) 30-35k Blake Shelton (Warner Bros. Nashville) 30-35k *Limp Bizkit (Interscope) 30-35k *Taking Back Sunday (Warner Bros.) 28-32k Bon Iver (Jagjaguwar) 28-32k
Since i havnt posted my opinions yet:
I think Beyonce's numbers are very strong. She ll eaisly get a gold album, and she has a shot at going platnium. Im not dissapointed in her numbers.
Selena's numbers arnt bad and she ll more than likley have her 3rd gold album.
Cook's numbers are a bit sad, and he will likley struggle to hit 200k.

Selena's sales is pretty impressive and I remember her tour sold well too.
Cook, well, he's following Archie's trajectory.

I think 4 will end up selling more than Dangerously In Love. 320-330k is my guess.

Without a hit single, this album is not going to have long term success

Without a hit single, this album is not going to have long term success Well Britney the album sold 4.3M with flop singles. Norah Jones sold 10M without a hit single at all.. or maybe that's reaching.

Both of them were 10 years ago. Beyonce will go Platinum though.

i would not say it is a hard and fast rule that all albums must have hit pop singles to sell well. Norah Jones jazz album would be an example

Beyonce is an artist catering to the mainstream though. If she isn't constantly promoting herself to the masses then her album won't sell. Similarly to Lady Gaga.

Nice figures so far, I hope Adele can just edge into 6 figure numbers again and outdo the predictions. Beyonce looks to be on course for around a 300k+ debut. :)

If (IF) she kept the same rate, she would end up with 388k... :O But I think Target must have reported their figures, so the final numbers won't be that high. But I still think they'll be above the prediction. ~325k seems right to me.

^ Yes, that's the reason why I think Target was already included. Because of the initial prediction.

I don't think the percentage is go by stores, idol's EPs are walmart exclusive, obviously not all walmart reported yet.

Without a hit single, this album is not going to have long term success Well Britney the album sold 4.3M with flop singles. Norah Jones sold 10M without a hit single at all.. or maybe that's reaching. This was a decade ago. If you're going to compare, keep it relevant.

The Britney album from 2001 had several songs released to radio, in an era where no singles were available.
Big name albums from this period benefited by having no singles

Big name albums from this period benefited by having no singles I don't have the stats in front of me but I'm pretty sure all of those singles flopped and it was Britney's worst era as far as pop radio is concerned.

It is true, that the Britney era was not a huge one, radio-wise- but, "I'm a Slave 4 U" fared better at radio than any of the Blackout singles. Nonetheless, she remained a TRL favorite.
