You'd think that the statistics alone would give LFN the edge, with LMFAO's second version at No. 134. We don't think there's more than a 15% gap between No. 32 and No. 134? I don't really follow all these percentage numbers, so... It may give LFN the edge on iTunes in the last 3 days, but there are 4 other days in the week and many other digital stores.

Amazon is in second place with only 10-12% of the digital market. Beyond that is just a whole bunch of places nobody's ever heard of and the failing Wal-Mart MP3 Download store which will be closed this month. All of this Katy talk has brought us away from the chart. Did anyone even notice GCH & AL are about to go top 10 with that annoying Stereo Hearts song?

I don't know, at Amazon PRA is #1 and LFN is at #5. Both are discounted at 69 cents. May that have been enough to cover that small lead Katy had/has? We don't know

Also at Amazon, second versions of PRA and LFN sit at 59 and 80, respectively. Whatever the result, looks like it indeed will be a close finish.

What kind of effect will streaming have on the outcome between LFN and PRA?

We don't know the official streaming positions, so that could end up being the deciding factor. I'd think LFN would rate pretty highly in streaming (both audio and video video streams count, yes?)

There is a 99% chance Katy will not get #1 on the HOT 100.

^Didn't you think that earlier in the week until the remix started rising up the iTunes charts and then you changed your tune? It's still too early to tell anything right now.

Amazon alone could be more than enough to make up for the insignificant difference of pop bars the songs have on iTunes.

The "remix" currently is at 37- its peak was 26 (I think). Hardly dropping like a "stone"- though it very well just may do that over the next few days.

The tracking week is barely half-way finished and the remix already dropped ten spots from its peak, I'd say that's shaping up to be a fairly quick run (thus far, of course)

I assume. However, PRA's video is very popular too. And if they count audio streams, I'd assume it'd get a hell of a lot of that (young people who don't buy music etc).

There is a 99% chance Katy will not get #1 on the HOT 100. I'd say it's actually 50/50. Katy is ahead on both, but now she's so close to LMFAO digitally that LMFAO being over her on Amazon could push them ever so slightly over on digital sales to get that #1. I'm literally biting my nails...

Exactly. Pra is loosing airplay very quickly. If Katy is close, shell probably get #1 hot 100.

This has to be the closest #1 since the S&M remix and Teenage Dream vs. LTWYL.

LFN was ahead of PRA for what, 48 hours? 72? Their airplay gap on BDS is razor thin & PRA has been ahead on Amazon and probably has a streaming advantage. It's not lookin good.

LFN was ahead of PRA on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, all of Friday so far, and it's still ahead by a small margin.

^LOL...You are funny. Your temperament concerning this Hot 100 race changes by the hour every day. No I really think Katy's best shot is not this coming chart. It'll be the next chart after that. I think PRA is going to drop harder and Katy will back into #1 simply by loosing less.
