Looking at Adele's sales, I'm guessing the big chart story next week is either Kelly Rowland or Amy Winehouse for the #1 spot.

Amy's never been that big in the US. She's probably more known there for drugs than her actual music. Expecting this to go no. 1 is a little on the wishful dreaming side. THIS!

Back to Black currently is No. 1 on iTunes, while Frank is No. 3. Not sure if the album will hold up well enough to challenge for No. 1 on the 8/13 chart.

I think it will creep in the top 20/25 this week and top ten next week. But who knows, we will have a better idea when we see the two day sales on Wednesday

Both albums are also very high on Amazon with BTB being #1 as of last night and Frank being #3.

Amy's never been that big in the US. She's probably more known there for drugs than her actual music. Expecting this to go no. 1 is a little on the wishful dreaming side. You don't have to pop off multiple Pop #1's from an album to be "big" in the US. BTB scanned 2.3 million on the back of one hit, and built up a nice following for her. Most acts you would deem more popular would kill for something like that.

Wow, if Amy sold that much in less than 48 hours, she's definitely a contender for the top spot next week.

It's likely that the bulk of her sales will happen in the first day or so, that will probably hinder her placement next week.

^^I remember Em actually pulled ahead of Rick in SS last year.
I hope Amy gets B2B to #1 next week. It's really its last shot.

i think amy def has a shot at getting to number one next week. I think there are some people still finding out about her death today, and her funeral will also be held this week and there will be continued coverage into finding out what the cause of death was.

Is this even in question? Yes. She had numerous health problems, and any one of them could have been the final culprit.

Is this even in question? There were no drugs or drug paraphernalia found on her person or anywhere in/around her home. It's possible her heart just gave out from all the abuse it had taken, and she had also reportedly been suffering seizures leading up to her death.

It may not be "front page" type coverage though so the exposure may be less.

The new Billboard 200 albums chart -- which will be revealed on Wednesday (July 27) and reflects the sales tracking week that ended on Sunday night -- should see "Back to Black" re-enter the top 20, with as many as 20,000 - 25,000 copies sold in the U.S. That figure mostly reflects sales from over the weekend, after news of her death on Saturday reached fans. In the week previous, the set moved just a little over 1,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan.

So BTB was still doing 1,000 a week, 5 years after its release. Nice. The fact that it was doing that despite spawning just one hit, and with Amy not even putting out another album after BTB, is a testament to the impact the album had.
