Never doubt the Adele it can come back to bite you, as evidenced by some of the posts in ' Where will SLY peak on the Hot100?' ;) Of course, having 8 weeks at #1 with SLY would be an unbelievable achievement. But the unbelievable seems easy for her at the moment - it's the impossible that takes longer.

I think that slaydele should be #1 by mid October and should have no problem maintaining for most of November, and december minus those couple of weeks when huge digital sellers get a week at #1 (I.e. laffy taffy)...whatever song is #1 in December will most likely have sometime in January due to low competition...slaydele is coming for those record #1 weeks. I can feel it.

Moving over to the Digital Songs chart, Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" (featuring Christina Aguilera) holds at No. 1 with 233,000 downloads sold (up 5%). Nos. 2 and 3 on the tally are also stationary: Adele's "Someone Like You" at No. 2 with 201,000 (up 1%) and Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" at No. 3 with 177,000 (down 5%).

A pair of acts claim double top 10 honors this week, as both LMFAO and Rihanna occupy two slots each in the region.

LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" rises 5-4 (149,000; up 4%) while its new single, "Sexy and I Know It," flies 15-6 (139,000; up 97%) as its racy music video continues to make waves.

Rihanna's new single, "We Found Love" (featuring Calvin Harris), debuts at No. 7 with 117,000 after only four days of sales. The single was released on Sept. 22, while the chart tracking week ended on Sunday, Sept. 25. "Found" is the first single from Rihanna's sixth studio album, due Nov. 21. Rihanna charges onto the Hot 100 at No. 16 with "We Found Love" (featuring Scottish DJ Calvin Harris), the first single from her forthcoming sixth studio album. Island Def Jam has not yet confirmed the title of the set, due Nov. 21.

"We Found Love"
The club-thumping "Found" enters Digital Songs at No. 7 with first-week download sales of 117,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and Radio Songs at No. 75 with 14 million out-of-the-box impressions, according to Nielsen BDS. With the song having been released digitally and to radio Thursday (Sept. 22), next week's charts will reflect the song's first full week of sales and airplay activity.

"Found" ties for the second-highest debut of Rihanna's 31 career Hot 100 entries. She started at a loftier rank only as a guest on Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie," which soared in at No. 2 the week of July 10, 2010, before spending seven weeks at the summit. Rihanna's "Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)," with Jay-Z and Bono, also opened at No. 16 (Feb. 6, 2010).

New Rihanna Album Will Drop Nov. 21

LMFAO concurrently rockets 25-10 as the Hot 100's Digital Gainer with "Sexy and I Know It." The song bounds 15-6 on Digital Songs with 139,000 downloads sold (up 97%). Early airplay is likewise encouraging, as "Sexy" blasts 67-45 in its second week on Radio Songs (27 million, up 55%). The pair's previous single, "Party Rock Anthem," featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock, led the Hot 100 for six weeks, subsequently earning the honor of Billboard's top song of the summer.

At just four chart weeks, "Sexy" surges to the Hot 100's top 10 in less than half the time (nine weeks) it took "Anthem" to reach the top tier.

Rihanna and LMFAO share a degree of separation: "Found" featured artist Harris also guests on "Reminds Me of You" on LMFAO's "Sorry for Party Rocking" album.

As Rihanna sets up her next album, "Cheers (Drink to That)," from her most recent release "Loud," reaches a new Hot 100 peak, rising 8-7. The song dips, however, in digital sales (114,000, down 5%) and airplay (60 million, down 6%).

"Jagger," meanwhile, maintains its command over the Hot 100. The track strengthens its stronghold by posting gains atop Radio Songs (131 million, up 6%) and Digital Songs (233,000, up 5%), marking the song's best weekly audience and sales sums to-date.

LAST WEEK: Maroon 5, Christina Atop Hot 100 For Third Week

Former Hot 100 No. 1 "Someone Like You" by Adele places at No. 2 for a third week with Airplay Gainer honors for a third time in four weeks. The piano ballad (also being played in remixed form) rockets 9-2 on Radio Songs, improving by 26% to 106 million. The cut's seven-spot jump on Radio Songs is the greatest to the top two in the chart's 21-year history; only Kanye West's "Stronger" (7-1, Oct. 6, 2007) had risen as many as six positions to the top two.

On Digital Songs, "Someone" tallies a third frame at No. 2 (201,000, up 1%) after ruling the list three weeks ago.

"Pumped Up Kicks"
Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" holds at No. 3 on the Hot 100 for a fifth week. The song pushes 8-6 on Radio Songs (96 million, up 6%) and remains at No. 3 on Digital Songs (177,000, down 5%).

LMFAO's "Anthem" (4-4); Gym Class Heroes' "Stereo Hearts," featuring Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine (5-5); and, Bad Meets Evil's "Lighters," featuring Bruno Mars (6-6), round out the Hot 100's static top six.

Between Rihanna's "Cheers" at No. 7 and LMFAO's "Sexy" at No. 10 on the Hot 100 are Lady Gaga's "You and I" (10-8) and Cobra Starship's "You Make Me Feel...," featuring Sabi (7-9).

In addition to Rihanna's bow with "Found," eight other songs enter the Hot 100, three by the "Glee" cast and two by Demi Lovato.

With school back in session, i.e., Fox's "Glee" returning for a third season last Tuesday (Sept. 20), three titles from the season premiere debut: "It's Not Unusual" (No. 65), originally Tom Jones' first Hot 100 hit (No. 10) in 1965; "Hairspray" cut "You Can't Stop the Beat" (No. 67); and, "We Got the Beat" (No. 83), a No. 2 smash for the Go-Go's in 1982. "Unusual" leads the way with sales of 40,000; by comparison, the top-selling track from last year's second-season opener, the troupe's cover of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind," began at No. 21 on the Hot 100 with sales of 106,000.

Lovato debuts on the Hot 100 at No. 69 with "Fix a Heart" (37,000 downloads) and No. 98 with "Unbroken" (24,000). The latter song is the title cut from the singer's third album, which, as previously reported, begins on the Billboard 200 at No. 4. The set's first proper single, "Skyscraper," elevates 61-55 on the Hot 100 after debuting and peaking at No. 10 in July.

LMFAO has two songs in the top 10 on this week's Hot 100, a sign of how fast this second-generation duo has taken off. Their former #1 smash "Party Rock Anthem" holds at #4 in its 19th week in the top 10. Their fast-rising follow-up, "Sexy And I Know It," vaults from #25 to #10 in its fourth week.

The duo consists of Stefan "Redfoo" Gordy and Skyler "Sky Blu" Gordy, the son and grandson, respectively, of Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr.

"Party Rock Anthem," which features Lauren Bennett & Goon Rock, is the third best-selling song for the year-to-date, behind Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" and "E.T." by Katy Perry featuring Kanye West.

"Moves Like Jagger by Maroon5 featuring Christina Aguilera holds at #1 for the fourth week. This is the longest that any Maroon5 song has held the top spot. "Makes Me Wonder" spent three weeks on top in 2007. Aguilera has had two longer-running #1 hits.

"Moves Like Jagger" sold 233K copies this week, which is its largest weekly tally to date.

The song has sold 2,207,000 copies, a total surpassed by only one Maroon5 hit. "Makes Me Wonder" has sold 2,628,000 copies. ("Jagger" will top that in three weeks, tops.)

"Jagger" is also #1 in Canada and on Nielsen SoundScan's Euro chart, which is a composite chart for Europe. It's #2 in the U.K., Germany and Australia.

Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" holds at #3 for the fifth straight week. It's unusual for a song to spend that many weeks at #3, but it happens. Real McCoy's 1994 hit "Another Night" logged 11 weeks at #3 (its peak position). "Pumped Up Kicks" tops the 2 million mark in digital sales this week.

"You Make Me Feel..." by Cobra Starship featuring Sabi drops from #7 to #9. The song tops the 1 million mark in digital sales. Last week, it tied "Good Girls Go Bad" as Cobra Starship's highest-charting hit to date. "Good Girls Go Bad," featuring Leighton Meester, hit #7 in August 2009.

"Without Love" by David Guetta featuring Usher jumps from #15 to #11 in its fourth week on the chart. It's a safe bet to make the top 10 next week. Digital sales rank: #8 (116K).

"We Found Love" by Rihanna featuring Scottish DJ Calvin Harris is the week's top new entry at #16. It's the first single from Rihanna's upcoming sixth studio album, which is due Nov. 21. "We Found Love" is vying to become Rihanna's 20th top 10 hit. She first cracked the top 10 (with "Pon De Replay") a little more than six years ago.

Rihanna pulled four top 10 hits from her current album, Loud. It was her fourth consecutive album to yield three or more top 10 hits.

"We Found Love" got off to a fast start even though it had just four days of radio activity and digital sales in the tracking week. (It was released on Thursday, Sept. 22.) The song enters Hot Digital Songs at #7 (117K).

Dev's "In The Dark" jumps from #18 to #17 in its eighth week...Jason Derulo's "It Girl" jumps from #30 to #24 in its seventh week..."Marvin & Chardonnay" by Big Sean featuring Kanye West & Roscoe Dash jumps from #38 to #32 in its 10th week. Marvin Gaye, who is saluted in the latter song, first cracked the Hot 100 in October 1962 with "Stubborn Kind Of Fellow."

"Better With The Lights Off" by New Boyz featuring Chris Brown jumps from #47 to #42 in its 13th week...Gavin DeGraw's "Not Over You" jumps from #63 to #50 in its seventh week.

Darren Criss' rendition of Tom Jones' 1965 smash "It's Not Unusual" debuts at #65. It's the highest of three Glee songs to crack this week's chart. Criss is 24, the same age that Jones was when his version of the song first charted in April 1965. "It's Not Unusual" was the first of 29 Hot 100 hits for the Welsh entertainer.

It's too soon to know if Criss will prosper as a recording star beyond Glee, but he clearly has talent and charisma. Which brings me to a gripe I have with Glee. I wish the producers would give star billing to its cast regulars rather than simply bill all the songs as by "Glee Cast."

Two other Glee songs debut this week. "You Can't Stop The Beat," from the 2002 musical Hairspray, bows at #67. "We Got The Beat," a cover of a 1982 Go-Go's smash, opens at #83.

"Y.U. Mad" by Birdman featuring Nicki Minaj & Lil Wayne debuts at #68. This is an example of how our texting culture is affecting song titles. Other examples from the past year or so include "OMG" by Usher featuring will.i.am, Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" and Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)."

Birdman's highest-charting hit as a lead artist is "Stuntin' Like My Daddy," a collabo with Lil Wayne which peaked at #21 in 2006.

Two songs by Demi Lovato debut this week (joining the already charted "Skyscraper," which rebounds from #61 to #55 in its 11th week). "Fix A Heart" bows at #69. "Unbroken" opens at #98. Lovato has had two top 10 hits on the Hot 100: "This Is Me" with Joe Jonas in 2008 (billed as Camp Rock Cast) and "Skyscraper" in July. J. Cole's "Work Out" jumps from #79 to #74 in its fourth week. The rapper's debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, is expected to enter The Billboard 200 at #1 next week, with sales in the 225K range. J. Cole first cracked the Hot 100 in June 2010 with "Who Dat," which reached #93. He was subsequently featured on Miguel's "All I Want Is You," which peaked at #58. The 26-year old rapper is rising very quickly.

"Mrs. Right" by Mindless Behavior featuring Diggy jumps from #92 to #77 in its fourth week. The R&B teen quartet's debut album, #1 Girl, enters The Billboard 200 at #7 this week...The Band Perry's "All Your Life" jumps from #88 to #78 in its third week. It's the trio's follow-up to "If I Die Young," which is the fifth best-selling country song in digital history..."Wet The Bed" by Chris Brown featuring Ludacris jumps from #90 to #80 in its third week. That's one of the more unlikely song titles ever to grace, if that's the word, the Hot 100.

Jason Aldean's "Tattoos On This Town" bows at #81. It's the opening track from Aldean's My Kinda Party album, which, as of this week, is the #2 best-selling CD (from any genre) so far this year. Only Adele's 21 has sold more CDs in 2011. If you combine CDs and digital albums, My Kinda Party is #5 for the year. But that's different.

Last week I told you that Tony Bennett has a 60-year span of hits on Billboard's pop chart, from "Because Of You" (a future #1) in June 1951 to "Body And Soul," his pairing with Amy Winehouse, last week. (It falls off this week.) Bennett has nearly as long a span of chart hits in the U.K. The span there is more than 56 years, from "Stranger In Paradise" (likewise, a future #1) in April 1955 to "Body And Soul," which sticks around for a second week this week.

OneRepublic's "Good Life" and Lady Gaga's "The Edge Of Glory" both top the 2 million mark in digital sales this week.

Jason Derulo's "Don't Wanna Go Home" tops the 1 million mark in digital sales. It's his fourth consecutive million-seller.

It's the hot shot debut and it's Ris second highest debut. There is nothing to spin. If the song had a full week of sales it would've doubled it's sales total.

So I finally saw the video/heard the song for the first time yesterday. My reactions to your comment:

1. I'm gay and I find the diva stan wars incredibly boring and idiotic, and a pretty girl singing does not make me love a song (lately it seems most of what I listen to is actually electro pop male vocalists).

2. "Mildly attractive" is waaaay too generous. The thinner of the two LMFAO guys might be a "B-" in terms of attractiveness if he shaved his face and cut his hair, but as they look now, they are two of the most unattractive guys out there. (The most physically unattractive combination of artists ever was the David Rush - LMFAO - Pitbull - Kevin Rudolf song "Shooting Star." The song was great, but every single man involved is butt ugly.)

3. All that said, the song is more entertaining than I expected and I applaud them for doing a video that objectifies men (albeit jokingly) instead of women for once.

I find it pretty sad that the song is accompanied by a joke video to be honest. It just shows that men and women are not equal in that sense.

But then again, if the guys of LMFAO were more traditionally handsome the video might be different..

It's hard for girls though, you need to be smashingly beautiful or hugely talented to even get a record contract so in that sense it's only good that men don't have to be. Wish it was the same for women.
