I wouldnt be too sure. It will be peaking on AC and Hot AC within the next few weeks, so the only place it will still be gaining healthy will be on Pop, unless Rhythmic picks it up.

Her label is downright horrible. WYWH has actually not been released to the U.S. yet. Why? We'd all like to know. Seriously, though, her current era has been handled so badly...

Promo has been pretty poor, and these acts that believe they can comeback after long hiatus (like Avril, Maroon, Christina) without working a lot for it are usually wrong. Sade is the exception to the rule (and her fans are more likely to stay with her than the pop crowd).

Avril needs to drop that teenage act. I don't have a huge problem with it but I've seen a lot of people complaining about it. WYWH is ok but even if it gets an adds date it won't do much.

*racks brain and Wikipedia* found one! Madonna came close with "Keep It Together" and "Vogue" (which I realize was pre-BDS), Mariah came close with "Make It Happen" and "I'll Be There", Rihanna herself almost did once before with "Break It Off" and "Umbrella"...but DC actually managed it with "Jumpin' Jumpin'" and "Independent Women Part I" (link). granted, I guess that example's a little questionable since "IWP1" was a soundtrack single before being included on Survivor, but still...

of course, whether or not this is an accomplishment to be proud of is debatable, but I think it's a fun little chart fact!

In terms of the pre-BDS, SoundScan-era, I thought about the close gap between "Keep it Together" and "Vogue" (in select countries, they were on the same single, as "Vogue" was initially going t obe a B-side). 1989-1991 was a busy time in terms of Madonna releases- she had more than a year away from the singles charts before "Like a Prayer" hit. She then had the five Like a Prayer singles, and then the two I'm Breathless singles, and then The Immaculate Collection came in November 1990, with two more singles. She then took a good year and change off from new music, though, until "This Used to Be My Playground" hit in summer 1992.

"Someone Like You" looks like it has a good shot at reaching No. 2 in airplay come Wednesday.

BTW, stephenn- that info is for the 10/1 chart.

Umm no? Collide NEVER had an adds date on any format. However it did go to #1 on Billboard's Dance/Club airplay chart (woo!). Also, Collide had 0 promotion. Wait till the 2nd single (technically the lead single) is released. She'll be performing it on the US X-factor + various other shows. She's not done yet.

Edit: WOW @ Adele. She gained 0.368AI outside of AC/HAC/POP/Triple A. So UAC or Rhythmic (or both) are giving it some support. I think if both of them give it moderate support (Top 40/30 on both maybe) then we could see SLY get around 120-140mil AI!
