That list is so random, as expected.

No real shockers- for the most part, it is a rundown of the decade's biggest chart hits, with a few lesser hits tossed in. Coincidence that the two hits that spent 14 weeks atop the Hot 100 are in the top 20? "Crazy in Love" is a highly acclaimed track, that also just happened to be a big hit. Surprised "Can't Get You Out of My Head" is absent- it was a top 10 hit, and like "Crazy in Love," also has had lots of year-end/all-time citations.

The list seems pretty fair and accurate, but I would have put "Yeah!" and "Umbrella" in the top 10 somehow.

Accurate as far as the biggest hits? Certainly not what's considered to be the best of the decade. I mean, most of the top 20 has at least had some decent acclaim, but the list is littered with tracks that didn't, that are simply present because of their success. I know it's a mainstream point of view, but VH1 could have tried a little harder, at least further down the list (if it- not the public- in fact compiled it).

The public didn't vote this time around.

It's a nice list overall. Not as random as I though it would be, TBH Surprised (and glad) to see Foo Fighters and Pink in the top 30! But BEP's and U2's placements kinda bug me.

Ha - I wonder if "Chasing Pavements" would have even been considered had Adele not absolutely exploded this year?

Ha - I wonder if "Chasing Pavements" would have even been considered had Adele not absolutely exploded this year? I also think Natasha Bedingfield's "Pocketful Of Sunshine" is such a random entry... wouldn't "Unwritten" be the more remembered of the two?

Poker Face seems out of place in the top 10.

Wow good catch on Chasing Pavements. But I can see a story arc of them explaining how it paved the way for her 2010s success she is having now. Though if 21 were a debut album, I think it would have performed just the same if she received the proper promotion.

^ Many (if not most) people think 21 is her debut.
Also - "Poker Face" is a little high... Also where is Alicia's "If I Aint Got You"?

Debut artists don't sell 350k first week with no hit single.

She sold 350k first week, but the album sales sit at well over 3 million.

J. Cole is about to sell 250K this week with no hit single. He is a debut artist.

There's certainly a couple missteps, but the Top 20 looks dead-on. VH1 did a pretty good job with this list, actually. Color me surprised.

It's nice to see John Mayer in the 30s. Too bad it's for "Daughters" and not one of his much better songs.

I'm pleasantly suprised to see "Poker Face" higher than Bad Romance so high :o ! "Crazy In Love" is a solid #1 in my opinion.

Aside from a few questionable choices and omissions, this is actually a rather solid list overall.

Never heard of:
93. OK Go / Here It Goes Again 87. The Darkness / I Believe in a Thing Called Love 72. Jet / Are You Gonna Be My Girl 63. Andrew W.K. / Party Hard 41. R. Kelly / Trapped in the Closet
I might have heard the Jet song, but dont know the title. I have heard of Trapped in the Closet, of course, but I don't think I've actually heard the complete song.

2003 was a great year for music. Great 3 of the most stand out tracks (CIL, HY and IDC) make the list. I woulda thought Independent Women pt 1 woulda made it in over Bootylicious, though.
I Gotta Feeling and Umbrella shoulda definitely made top 10 and 10-week #1's Foolish and Irreplaceable shoulda made the list as well.
