Yeah, I agree with that. Yes she was with Chad and Hodges a couple of times in the studio months after she said the album was "done", end of June/early July and early August, but that doesn't mean she wasn't in the studio with someone else too! Just one example: Aug 8th Avril was definitely sitting in a studio with friends but Hodges was working with other people at that time. Also, don't expect her to talk much about this. For whatever reason they have missed the opportunity to release new music this year, even if they have the time now, they wouldn't spend more money on studio time if they are just unhappy with the "fillers", those songs were never Avril's weakness. The singles on the other hand... They haven't "missed the opportunity to release new music this year". It's August. She has a few days short of 7 weeks to drop a single. If something isn't going for adds before Sept 25th, then it's safe to say they won't be happening this year. I believe L.A would definitely send her back if he was unhappy with some album tracks? She's not on Hollywood records where all they care about is one hit in an album of garbage. Avril needs a quality album in addition to a hit in order to solidify herself again. I don't think anyone here , & certainly not her label are game for a hit single followed by a filler album. Like you said though- Nobody really knows what's up with her album. |

They really should have just said it will be about 2 years until the album from the beginning. Now all the push-backs are making this feel like Goodbye Lullaby all over again. Don't get me wrong, I loved that album, but I don't think that's what the label is going for.

Actually, Avril Lavigne just said: avrillavigne- Going on our third week in a row in studio. 3 more days to go and it's a wrap. Mixing now and laying down last minuet ad-libs and bkgnd vox I guess Avril was just making herself involved in the finishing of the record and not sending it off to someone for mixing. |

anyway, I have 3 questions:
-why couldn't she give an explanation as to why she was back in the studio
-why couldn't she say something 3 weeks ago
-and why on earth does she think it's clever to say again the album is "done"
anyway, even if it is indeed finished, it will take at least 3 months from now on before it will be out
they could get a single out by October and the album in Nov/Dec, but I'd say rushing things is stupid, they should take some time and make sure it's not such a mess like GL, like put more effort and thought into the whole thing and Avril really needs to step up things or else nobody will bother, which would be sad because it looks like she actually could have a good "album" this time(if she did the whole record with Chad/Hodges)

As far as she's concerned, the album is done on her end. Usually someone from a band is with the mixer when mixing is being done. It's mastering that is usually sent out for someone else to do, which is also the last step in the process.

Uh...I think you're the one that doesn't understand what mixing means. Why wouldn't Chad and David do the final mixing? Reid has already heard her album. She played it for him before she went to Paris in April. Mixing is one of the last steps. After the album has certified approval from the label, it's then mixed and mastered. If you think Epic is paying for over 3 weeks studio time during the mixing process just to have an album "preview", then your ignorance is apparent. Chad and David won't do the mastering, but coming from Avril's mouth herself, she's in the studio mixing the album with David. Yep & I suppose album sales at year end are higher so it will be better to release it this year than early next year. The album is 95% completed so anymore delays won't make sense at all unless the material isn't good & friendly enough for radio. |

So she is finally coming?... Or it looks like!
I think a september single release will do well, she "just" need the right one with a good promo.
X factor starts in spetember but will be about time to release the album her chance to do a performance there (if we think in an nov/dec release for the album).
I saw some pics from Abbey Dawn promo and she is really hot there! I believe that she will come back with a strong image, like LG, UMS and TBDT eras.

LA.Reid has talked about new music since the beginning of the year and yet nothing happen. Nothing besides those damn tweets  . While everyone else released their stuff quite easily. |
