Is she having some sort of mental breakdown? She just broke up with Brody who she dated not long after her first divorce and now she is engaged to someone who brags about banging hookers with Kid Rock. I just can't... I actually laughed out loud. My God, wtf this is such a weird situation. I just can't even handle this right now. It doesn't make sense for a publicity stunt. What the hell is she trying to promote? (Pun not intended.) She has an album she just finished and nobody cares or talks about her right now. or this is a fake relationship some do anything for attention, and certain people can need a lot of attention I thought the exact same thing. This reeks of publicity stunt. Yeah, it doesn't seem right to me either. Avril dated Brody for two years and never even really confirmed they were dating. Seems very out of character. |

I guess her career is done now. :/ I hate comments like this. Just because an artist is no longer scoring huge hits and/or selling tons of albums doesn't mean that their career is over. Avril has made a big enough name for herself that she'll always have a career in music, even if she's never again as successful as she was in the past. As for her being engaged to whatshisface.... Am I happy about it? Not particularly. Do I think their relationship is going to ruin her professionally? No. I just hope she doesn't do what she did last year and ignore her career in favor of her boyfriend/fiancé. If she wants to make any kind of comeback, she can't afford to half-ass it. |

I was mostly joking with my comment although I do think that judging by the reaction from anyone and everyone today, she might have a tougher time of it though the announcement has gotten her plenty of attention. On the flip side, I don't particular care for comments such as the conclusion of your post. If she's had enough hits in the past and she doesn't need them anymore, maybe she's decided that having a husband/boyfriend/etc is more important than establishing hits? As you said, having hits doesn't define her career. Just because she doesn't get hits also likely doesn't mean she's half assing it either. |

I actually think this is closer to a publicity stunt than a real marriage. Avril has been pretty low profile with her relationships with Deryck & Brody. Other than countless of pictures being snapped by the paps & a few twitter messages to show her love, she did not talk about Brody openly. Even with her divorce with Deryck, nobody knows what exactly happened to them to date other than both of them. With this ugly Chad dude, she had a photoshoot & got her reps to send out confirmations that she's engaged... it's just not her at all. If it's a publicity stunt, positive or negative reactions, Chadril is ALL over the internet now. I sense a new single from Avril very soon. Nickelback... I have so many friends in real life who love them. I'm not too fond of the band but I don't get what's with the hate for them. Saying this engagement will hurt both of them is just stupid though. From Brody to Chad... eeeek what a downgrade, in terms of looks. Brody is so hot although he's a bum. |

While I'm glad she's engaged, I had really hoped it would've been with Brody Jenner since they had dated for so long (versus dating a short time w/Chad Kroeger).
Alas, Goodbye Lullaby was such an great album, and I can't wait to hear her next one!
I wonder if she'll consider doing more films as well, since Over the Hedge and The Flock seem so long ago now.

if somebody wants to count the days they were together: studio time: 27.2. - 5.3. 17.3. - 31.3. 29.7. - 8.8. (engagement) (- 19.8. end of 3 weeks in the studio) (Nickelback tourdates en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Here_And_Now_Tour_(Nickelback_Tour) ) that are max 30 days in the studio, another week in France during the break of his tour and one day in Canada when Nickelback played a show there (I'm assuming Avril was not traveling with Chad on the tourbus) that are less than 40 days they spend together until they got engaged and most of that time they were working(kind of) with that Hodges guy, that's something totally different than going out on dates, having fun alone, getting to know each other etc this just smells so much like a bad publicity stunt, I cannot believe Avril is that stupid, after one failed marriage and that another disaster of a relationship with that dbag from the Hills she should know better |

^ lol are you serious? Are you a fly in Avril's life? What do you know about her & Chad? Counting the days the way you did is very foolish. Disaster relationship with Brody? What do you know again? Avril & Deryck remain as good friends after their marriage didn't work out. A failed marriage may not be a bad thing, same thing for a relationship that didn't work out. You don't know anything & you don't have anything nice to say about Avril from the get go. Stop assuming.

So whats going on as far as a single goes? Billboard Brazil said the single should be out by October. She has her Abbey Dawn fashion show mid-september so I imagine she'll drop information during that event. |
