53-54. Carly Pearce “Wrong Girl” (New!)I am embarrassed I'll edit it pronto! There fixed it! Fuck I am embarrassed! Damn it! Sorry I am just pissed at myself for getting it that wrong because it's humiliating and I am my own biggest critic and I worked on this all week only to get that song title wrong.

I don’t know why you get so worked up over making mistakes. Not everyone is perfect and makes mistakes. I mean I knew what song you were talking about and the mistake didn’t bother me in the least. Your predictions are something I look forward to every week.

In the Weekly Chart thread I had an Aldean song that was wrong for 6 weeks before someone pointed it out lol.

I don't blame Billboard as much as I blame country radio for making these chart runs go on for so long. Billboard is just being fair and reporting the numbers, I blame the labels for promoting songs for a year and a half almost and country radio taking so long to convert and not telling the label to find a new song. Oh I agree with your post, Raylatch98, and wish Country Radio would grow a backbone and tell these label heads that no we are not going to boost up the airplay for this artist as this song is not connecting with the audience so try something different. Max number of weeks I would promote a single if I was the head of a label would be 35 to 40 weeks, no longer. 60 to 70 weeks is way too long and ridiculous. There was a country radio station that grew a backbone in Norfolk, Virginia that started to play independent and unsinged artists and oldies, that they were dropped my Mediabase and Billboard would not accept them. They played Tyler Childress' All Yall'N. The programmer said it is the record labels dictating to the radio stations on what to play. The manjor labels corporate labels are doing this. It is hard for the smaller labels to get their songs out, and it does hurt the unsigned and smaller label artists to get through. It looks like Cody Jinks may have some backing to break into the Billboard Country Airplay charts since his albums where smash hits on Billboard charts for album with number 4, 2, 2 and 2. He is still signed with Rounder Records of The Concord Music Group, but his -last two albums are on Late August Records. His friend is the President of Rounder Records. We may see the Concrd Music Group trying to stop the monopoly of the corporate labels doing these things. Audium is back, and will fight back as will as will as the Hip Hop label of Empire Records that launched a Nashville label. Even a hard rock label opened a Nashville office with Cory Marks as the flagship artist. It is something I have been complaining about with these songs -lasting way too long on the charts. With Sony's involvement as part owner of Records? They are adding a 4th Nashville label as Matt Stell and Chris Bandi as flagship artist, and Noah Cyrus could be the female lead artist on Rounder. Noah is getting a lot of flack on social media for not being as good as her sister Miley. Noah is her own. We may have a labels war as the small ones fighting the bigger guys. We may need a new law to stop this for having songs last this long. This is more like the paola scandal in the past. PS. as it is, many radio stations in the country are owned by groups like Clear Channel, Cumulus and others, and their parent companies are usually owned by companies that are owned either by Neilson's parent company, Mediabase parent company, IHeartRadio parent or parent companies of large record label companies. We used to have more artists on the charts in the past than what we have now.

New and Active Gary Allan “Waste Of A Whiskey Drink” Pryor & Lee “Y’allsome” Teddy Robb “Heaven On A Dirt” Ingrid Andress “Lady Like” Lindsay Ell “Want Me Back” Clay Walker “Need A Bar Sometimes”
Going Recurrent Or Drop Outs Kane Brown “Cool Again” Peak #3 Weeks: 24 Zac Brown Band “The Man Who Loves You The Most” Peak #44 Weeks: 16 Gary Allan “Waste Of A Whiskey Drink” Peak #60 Weeks: 1
Comments/Observations This week due to the audience change on Mediabase was a bit harder to monitor. However with Kane Brown and Zac Brown Band being the only recurrents this week was pretty slow especially with a good chunk of faster rising songs in the 30s, 40s and 50s.
Anyways let's start at the top where I think it will be a pretty even finish for Lee Brice and Tim McGraw, if “I Called Mama” has a good update tomorrow than I think Tim McGraw has it, but if he doesn’t I lean more towards Lee Brice snagging one last week at #1. One thing that definitely helped this week was Jason Aldean stopping this week for “Got What I Got”. I do expect next week for Jason to snag the #1 with both Lee Brice and Tim McGraw in freefall. Rounding out the Top 5 should be like last week Luke Combs and Jameson Rodgers.
Morgan Wallen and Russell Dickerson continue to really take strong advantage of the Top 10 conversions with their latest singles “More Than My Hometown” and “Love You Like I Used To” respectively and depending on the next couple weeks I could see one of them blocking Matt Stell from a Billboard #1. Due to Morgan and Russel’s huge gains it has left Blake Shelton/Gwen Stefani “Happy Anywhere” and especially HARDY/Lauren Alaina/Devin Dawson “One Beer” picking up the scraps of the Top 10 conversions with “One Beer” re-entering the Top 10 this week.
In the teens it is mostly pretty straight forward as every song is expected to move up 1 spot including new Top 20 entry Darius Rucker “Beers & Sunshine”, also his first Top 20 entry since “For The First Time” in 2018. With the biggest excitement whether Kenny Chesney and Chris Stapleton pass Chris Lane and Kelsea Ballerini respectively.
In the 20s Niko Moon, Rascal Flatts, and Dustin Lynch all remain close in audience as all wait just outside the Top 20. Florida Georgia Line closed the gap between them and Eric Church as “Long Live” continues it’s fast start. Finally look for Dylan Scott to enter the Top 30 this week with “Nobody” (who is also buying this song btw).
In the 30s is where we finally get some level of intrigue as Keith Urban/P!nk are knocking on the Top 30 doorsteps with “One Too Many” while also Parmalee/Blanco Brown “Just The Way” and Taylor Swift “Betty” are doing decently well this week as well. Luke Combs storms into the Top 40 with “Better Together” and with Miranda Lambert “Settling Down” and Little Big Town “Wine Beer Whiskey” applying pressure don’t be shocked if one or two of Jake Owen, Brantley Gilbert, or Brett Eldredge dip out of the Top 40 this week.
Finally in the 40s and 50s. Carly Pearce continues to sneak past other songs as “Next Girl” continues to do well, also doing very well for a new female artist is Priscilla Block with her debut single “Just About Over You” as she enters the Top 50 in her third week. Look for new arrivals from Sam Hunt with “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90s” and debut singles from Elvie Shane and Larry Fleet. Finally don’t be shocked if this is the last week for total non-starter “Saltwater Gospel” by Eli Young Band/Jimmy Buffet.
Songs I See Leaving Soon Tim McGraw “I Called Mama” Kip Moore “She’s Mine” Brett Eldredge “Gabrielle” Eli Young Band & Jimmy Buffet “Saltwater Gospel”
Songs In Trouble Parker McCollum “Pretty Heart” (maybe) Eric Church “Stick That In Your Country Song” Jake Owen “Made For You” Caroline Jones “All Of The Boys”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Ingrid Andress “Lady Like” Gary Allan “Waste Of A Whiskey Drink” Luke Bryan “Down To One”
Closing Thoughts This week was so dull from the Top 30 on. Which is saying something since this last week on Billboard every song except for 3 (“One Beer'', “Hole In The Bottle”, and “Starting Over”) in the 11-30 range stayed in the same spot the previous week.
Good news is I expect “I Called Mama” to fall and fall fast to give a lot of spins, however I don’t see anyone sans maybe “Gabrielle” by Brett Eldredge giving up so I don’t expect a ton of movement in terms of positions next week but with Tim McGraw in freefall I do expect like this week a lot of songs to have solid gains.

Comments/Observations This week can be described as slow and kind of bogged down as a #1 push from Jameson Rodgers, and new fast rising singles from Luke Combs, Luke Bryan, and Sam Hunt and to add on top of it a new iHeartMedia debut from Dierks Bentley. With all those contributing factors not many songs outside of those 4 saw good weeks.
Starting at the top of the chart we should see Jameson Rogers hit #1 with “Some Girls” his very first chart topper. I do think there is a slim, very slim chance that Jason Aldean gets the second week at the top with “Got What I Got” but my gut is telling me Jamesom Rogers gets it. After spending three weeks at number 1, Lee Brice continues his slow fall with “One Of Them Girls” which along with Luke Combs “Lovin On You” I don’t expect to leave the charts anytime soon. Rounding out the Top 5 should be Russell Dickerson “Love You Like I Used To” which I would say would be the next #1 this time November 2nd, given the fact that Jameson Rodgers, Jason Aldean, and Lee Brice will be in freefall next week.
Below the Top 5 should be Matt Stell and Morgan Wallen with their latest singles. I do think Matt Stell will push for #1 next week but the gap between “Love You Like I Used To” and “Everywhere But On” is large enough to where I see Russell Dickerson block Matt Stell out of the #1 spot on Billboard. As for Morgan Wallen look for him to hit #1 once Russell Dickerson and Matt Stell clear out. At #8 for the third straight week should be Blake Shelton/Gwen Stefani “Happy Anywhere”, I do think the song is still a #1 contender but with this song expected to push to #1 before Morgan Wallen I could feasibly see “Happy Anywhere” being a Mediabase only #1. The last 2 spots in the Top 10 for the second straight week will be HARDY/Lauren Alaina/Devin Dawson “One Beer” and Parker McCollum “Pretty Heart” however both took a solid brunt of the slowdown as “One Beer” really slowed down this week and Parker McCollum pretty much gained nothing in audience this week. I do think both are still #1 contenders but this week was not kind to either.
A song that did not struggle this week was Chris Lane “Big Big Plans” as he easily passes Jon Pardi and has his eyes set on the Top 10 and could easily enter next week by either Jameson Rodgers falling fast enough (doubtful) or more likely “Big Big Plans” passing “Pretty Heart”. Speaking of Jon Pardi he really struggled this week as “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” is really suffering through poor callout scores, the good news for Jon Pardi besides Kenny Chesney I don’t see anyone passing “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” for a bit. Solid week for Kenny Chesney as he continues to hang in there with his non hit ``Happy Does”. Polarizing callout scores has caused “I Should Probably Go To Bed” to also show signs of stalling out as Dan + Shay gained nothing this week. Rounding out the Top 15 Lady A with “Champagne Night” which due to the weakness of Jon Pardi, Dan + Shay, and maybe even Parker McCollum it does seem like Lady A is beginning to gain traction in the Top 20.
Kelsea Ballerini actually did get a decent hit of the slow gains this week, but I do think in the long run “Hole In The Bottle” will be fine. However getting it much worse was Kip Moore who continues to hang on by a thread as “She’s Mine” seems all out of the gas. I do think Kip could go recurrent but I decided to give him a grace week, Darius Rucker saw a solid week and should sneak back ahead of Chris Stapleton as “Starting Over” was a total non mover in audience. Rounding out the Top 20 should be Niko Moon with his debut single “Good Time” which continues to do well climbing the chart.
In the 20s, “Better Together”, saw a massive cooldown week this week after blasting into the Top 30 last week, Rascal Flatts was a non starter like so many this week, while Dustin Lynch gained a bit more momentum this week with “Momma’s House” as all 3 wait just outside the Top 20. Dierks Bentley looks to have a Top 30 debut with his new single “Gone”. None of Tenille Arts “Somebody Like That”, Jordan Davis “Almost Maybes”, Morgan Wallen “7 Summers” saw good weeks with all the competition going around, however I do think all three of them are fine and aren’t in any danger of leaving any time soon. Luke Bryan as expected with a new single is climbing very fast on the chart as he should enter the Top 30 in his 2nd week. Rounding out the Top 30 will probably be Dylan Scott “Nobody” who looks to edge Brothers Osborne.
In the 30s singles from Brett Young, Parmalee/Blanco Brown, Taylor Swift, Gabby Barrett, and Maren Morris continue to stay stuck in the 30s and are all essentially waiting for a chance to pounce into the Top 30 with none of them moving that much faster than the other. After really slowing down last week “One Too Many” by Keith Urban/Pink picks up the pace back this week and should sail through a good chunk of the songs in the 30s. Sam Hunt continues his fast start with “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90s” which should probably pass the rest of the songs stuck in the 30s next week. Brantley Gilbert holds his own in the Top 40 and keeps his spot from last week again. However things weren’t as rosy for Miranda Lambert as “Settling Down” as Miranda really struggled this week and it wasn’t much better for Little Big Town who didn’t see much traction which has allowed for a possible Top 40 entry for Cody Johnson/Reba with their song “Dear Rodeo”.
Due to over 500k new audience from KKBQ alone and solid gains from a good chunk of her stations newcomer Priscilla Block should blast well into the Top 50 with her debut single “Just About Over You” and even come decently close to the Top 40, while Jake Owen, Cole Swindell, Runaway June, Robert Counts continue to struggle to gain any audience. Same thing goes for Carly Pearce with her new single “Next Girl” which after making the Top 50 a few weeks ago has stayed kind of static on the chart. Eric Church sees his final week for “Stick That In Your Country Song”. Rounding out the bottom of the charts are a bunch of overall slow movers this week as singles by Chris Janson, LoCash, Old Dominion, continue to stay in the 50s not doing much as of right now but all have the potential to go all the way, and having it worse on the charts this week looks to be Ryan Hurd (who should lose his bullet this week) as “Every Other Memory” continues to not do much. Rounding out the bottom of the chart should be new singles from Riley Green, Elvie Shane, Ingrid Andress, and Larry Fleet who all look to be jumbled up together on the chart and lastly expect Scotty McCreery and Justin Moore to sneak into the bottom of the chart and push Caroline Jones “All Of The Boys” off the chart this week.
Songs I See Leaving Soon Jameson Rodgers “Some Girls” Kip Moore “She’s Mine” Eric Church “Stick That In Your Country Song” Jimmie Allen & Noah Cyrus “This Is Us”
Songs In Trouble Jon Pardi “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” Dan + Shay “I Should Probably Go To Bed” Taylor Swift “Betty” Jake Owen “Made For You” Cole Swindell “Single Saturday Night” Runaway June “We Were Rich” Robert Counts “What Do I Know”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Caroline Jones “All Of The Boys Kane Brown “Worship You” Michael Ray “Whiskey & Rain” Gary Allan “Waste Of A Whiskey Drink” Lainey Wilson “Things A Man Oughta Know”
Closing Thoughts Next week looks to be a decent week for chart movement with Eric Church a surefire bet to go recurrent, Dierks Bentley going through iHeartMedia hangover, and potentially Kip Moore leaving next week (or this week which would be better) the charts keep trudging on. But overall the charts are very static as it seems like so many songs want to hold on to the end of the year with under 2 months to go before the charts slow down for good before entering the 2021 year.

Could an Independent Artist hit the top 60 Mainstream Airplay chart? Cody Jinks "Ain't A Train" could be the one that can make the top 60. He is very popular on Spotify and ITunes. If someone outside of the major label to make it, it would be him.

He needs radio airplay on a Billboard station and as of right now I don't think I have ever seen Cody Jinks played on a mainstream station. Spotify and iTunes means jackshit to country radio if the artist isn't on a label that can promote songs to mainstream radio.

Norfolk, Virginia who is on the mainstream panel play independent artists. I would think the major big city Texas markets would play him since he is a Texan. That is why I am asking since his song is still gaining spins on the Indicator Charts.

I just checked all the Texas Stations and Norfolk stations on the Mediabase panel and he wasn't on a single one of their Top 50s on AllAccess. That and stations on the mainstream panel tend to only allow mainstream label artists and very rarely play indie artists. I'm sorry but I don't see that song ever charting on Billboard.

I don't think Concord is a small minor label, but a mainstream label in other areas. I think Concord is just as big as Warner, Sony and Universal.

Looking at tonight's Billboard chart, first of all oof at how bad I was with the predictions, but more importantly here are all the songs eligible to go recurrent next week
Luke Combs "Lovin On You" Parker McCollum "Pretty Heart" Jon Pardi "Ain't Always The Cowboy" Kelsea Ballerini "Hole In The Bottle" Kip Moore "She's Mine" Maren Morris "To Hell & Back" Eric Church "Stick That In Your Country Song" Jake Owen "Made For You" Cole Swindell "Single Saturday Night"
Not to mention tonight's fall from Ryan Hurd may indicate he is done as well.
Now obviously not all of these songs are going to go recurrent, I do expect most of these singles to re-bullet, the ones that I do think could slip into recurrent land are Kip Moore, Eric Church (he is the only 100% lock to go), Jake Owen, and Cole Swindell. None of Kip Moore, Jake Owen, and Cole Swindell have looked strong for a bit and I wouldn't be shocked if at least one of them fall recurrent with Eric Church.

How come Eric Church did not go straight to recurrent this week? I thought Billboard sends songs to recurrent when they lost significant amount of audience? Same for I Called Mama last week. (I never understand their recurrent rules, feels like it totally depends on their decisions. While Canada Country Chart has a specific rule that is easy to follow)

I expected All Of The Boys to be pushed off the chart, but I just noticed now that Lady Like was pushed off as well. I hope both songs get back to the chart next week.

Comments/Observations A mini house cleaning on the chart and an iHeartMedia hangover give some breathing room after last week’s rather compressing nature.
Like last week, the song at #1 is by another unremarkable forgetful male artist this time by Matt Stell with his total non event single “Everywhere But On”. In the runner up spot is “Love You Like I Used To” by Russell Dickerson, now I do think Russell has a very small chance at hitting #1 and stealing the #1 on Billboard out from underneath Matt Stell but the odds are no higher than 10%. Rounding out the Top 5 songs are former #1s from Lee Brice and Jason Aldean with Lee Brice in particular falling very slowly and Jason Aldean falling just a little bit faster. Once Russell Dickerson and Matt Stell clear out I suspect Morgan Wallen “More Than My Hometown” will rule the roost for a couple weeks as Morgan Wallen should round out the Top 5 this week unless Blake Shelton/Gwen Stefani “Happy Anywhere” sneak ahead of it on their push week.
Speaking of Blake/Gwen they had a really slow week of gains until the tale end of this week, and same can be said for HARDY/Lauren Alaina/Devin Dawson “One Beer”, as former #1s from Jameson Rodgers and Luke Combs look to begin exiting the chart within the next week or so. Rounding out the Top 10 for the third week is Parker McCollum’s debut single “Pretty Heart” as Parker McCollum managed a decent rebound after last week’s chart week was kind of a disaster.
In the teens Chris Lane continues to eye closer and closer to the Top 10 as he really closes the gap between him and Parker McCollum and do not be shocked if “Big, Big Plans” passes “Pretty Heart” next week. After an even bigger disaster of a week last week, Jon Pardi “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” also sees a solid rebound back up however callout remains rather poor for Jon Pardi so I do think this week could be a fluke week. Kenny Chesney remains at #13 for a third straight week, and despite another solid week I suspect Kenny Chesney is gonna begin running into a snag here soon as besides Dan + Shay, “Happy Does” has the highest negative score on callout and really poor sales. Same thing can be said for “I Should Probably Go To Bed” which also has a very high negative score as the song’s gains have never been one to brag about. With all three of Jon Pardi, Kenny Chesney, and Dan + Shay looking rather mediocre at best on the chart it has allowed Lady A to really surge and pick up a lot of Top 15 conversions with “Champagne Night”.
After losing her bullet last week Kelsea Ballerini should see a nice week in gains this week as she stays at #16 for a third week in a row. Storming into the top 20 should be Luke Combs with "Better Together” as his white hot selling single continues to do very well in it’s 5th week on the chart. Running out the top 20 should be Darius Rucker, Chris Stapleton and Niko Moon with their latest singles. As all three see solid weeks this week but continue to be rather hunched up together in terms of audience.
Waiting to sneak into the Top 20 on Billboard are Rascal Flatts and Dustin Lynch as “How They Remember You” should sneak back ahead of Dustin Lynch, however both singles continue to remain solid despite poor sales. Florida Georgia Line slows down a bit this week with “Long Live” compared to last week. After entering the Top 30 last week Luke Bryan should smoothly enter the Top 25 this week getting ahead of weaker singles from Tenille Arts, Jordan Davis, as Morgan Wallen “7 Summers” just continues to wait in the 20s just ready to explode when “More Than My Hometown” is done. Rounding out the Top 30 should be Dylan Scott re-entering as he continues to gain more momentum, and Brett Young “Lady” which despite high sales is entering the Top 30 in the songs 27th week which while the song is at a good enough pace to hit the top it has shown how much the last album sucked momentum out for Brett Young.
In the 30s, Sam Hunt continues to gain pretty well as he nears the Top 30. Same thing goes for Gabby Barrett as she nears the Top 30 with “The Good Ones” as she is in the hunt for the Top 30 next week if things fall in the right places. Parmalee also saw a solid week as they near their first Top 30 since “Already Calling You Mine” in 2015 with “Just The Way”. After a strong week last week “One Too Many” by Keith Urban & Pink see a bit of a stall this week as both Gabby Barrett and Sam Hunt should be ahead of the song cancelling out it’s potential gain in position. Taylor Swift remains stuck in the 30s as “Betty” really started off the week floundering but did manage to stay afloat by the end of the week. Maren Morris was one of the many songs eligible to go recurrent but “To Hell & Back” managed a decent week as Maren waits for an opening for the Top 30 as she stands pretty solid in the Top 30 on Mediabase.
Due to some very strong daytime spins and conversions from some big hitting stations like WNSH, KILT, WYCD, Michael Ray’s “Whiskey and Rain” should probably land in the Top 40 in the song’s second week (now if only this sort of treatment would go to more unknown female artists I would not be so annoyed). Having a solid week but nowhere near as good as Michael Ray is Miranda Lambert “Settling Down” which should find its footing in the Top 40. Rounding out the 40 for a second straight week is Little Big Town “Wine, Beer, Whiskey” which continues to be a very hot selling single far outpacing it’s airplay.
In the 40s, Dierks Bentley should fall in there with his iHeartMedia hangover, as newcomer Priscilla Block nears her first Top 40 as Jake Own manages to eek out a bullet with a decent week for “Made For You” but the gains for Jake Owen still remain lackluster. Seeing a second week surge is Justin Moore as he should easily enter the Top 50 tomorrow. With Michael Ray and Justin Moore’s strong gains it continues to leave singles from Runaway June, Cole Swindell (who stands a decent shot of going recurrent tomorrow), Carly Pearce, and Robert Counts stuck in the 46 to 49 range as none of the four see great weeks again. Out of the four of them I do think Cole Swindell has peaked with “Single Saturday Night” or will about to, but I do suspect Carly Pearce, and at least one of Runaway June and/or Robert Counts to be fine. Jimmie Allen & Noah Cyrus continue to spin their wheels on the chart and I would not be shocked if the song is pulled before the end of the year,
Finally look for Kane Brown, Scotty McCreery to debut and for Caroline Jones to re-enter or for Luke Combs “Forever After All” to debut on the chart.,
Songs I See Leaving Soon Jameson Rodgers “Some Girls” Luke Combs “Lovin On You” Cole Swindell “Single Saturday Night” Jimmie Allen & Noah Cyrus “This Is Us”
Songs In Trouble Dan + Shay “I Should Probably Go To Bed” Jake Owen “Made For You” Caroline Jones “All Of The Boys”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Luke Combs "Forever After All" Eric Church “Hell Of A View” Cam “Classic” Mitchell Tenpenny “Broken Up” Ingrid Andress “Lady Like” Gary Allan “Waste Of A Whiskey Drink” Lainey Wilson “Things A Man Oughta Know”
Closing Thoughts Next week if things go right we could see Chris Lane and Jon Pardi hopefully replace Jameson Rodgers and Luke Combs to get some movement in the chart. But overall the charts are pretty static with soon to be five former #1s freefalling off the charts and besides Thomas Rhett or maybe Carrie Underwood I don’t see any iHeartMedia debuts for the rest of the year. So more than likely outside of the former #1s and a few stra

I love reading this every week, but Shallow will be debuting? Ugh, please don't... I would rather have singers like Ingrid Andress, Cam, or Lainey Wilson who are just below top 60. What a waste... Sad that this release of meaningless single prevents some talented female country singers from entering the chart.

Comments/Observations One of the toughest weeks in recent memory as it was a perfect cavalcade of disaster for so many songs to gain pretty much any traction as four factors lead to this. 1. Russell Dickerson pushing for a second week at #1. 2. The CMA Awards airing this week which cuts away 3 hours of airplay this week. 3. Thomas Rhett having the iHeartMedia debut of his song “What’s Your Country Song”, and lastly Eric Church “Hell Of A View” getting the “Entercom Song Of The Week” this past week. All these factors led to numerous songs pretty much gaining and no traction whatsoever this week.
Starting at the top of the chart as mentioned Russell Dickerson will be sending a second week at number 1 with his song “Love You Like I Used To”. I expect next week he will be falling, probably not that fast though considering how well the song is testing with listeners. in the runner-up spot is another song that radio just refuses to let go that being Lee Brice “One Of Them Girls” which continues to stay in the top 3 for another week. The song expected to hit #1 once Russell Dickerson is done should be “More Than My Hometown” another song I expect to have a very slow fall from #1. Rounding out the Top 5 should be Blake Shelton/Gwen Stefani “Happy Anywhere” and Hardy/Lauren Alaina/Devin Dawson “One Beer” both songs I expect will fall a bit faster than our Top 3 songs when they peak later this month.
After his big 5 spot jump the previous week Chris Lane stays in place this week. Parker McCollum gains solid traction this week has he begins eyeing his first #1. Jon Pardi enters the Top 10 with “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” as he continues to gain momentum. Just outside the Top 10 should be Dan + Shay, Kenny Chesney, and Lady A. However all three of these songs pretty much got the raw end of the deal this week in terms of gains, with Kenny Chesney in particular getting the brunt end of it as “Happy Does” is expected to lose its bullet this week and seems like the song has just about stalled out. Same can’t be said for Dan + Shay and Lady A but this week did give me some great pause on whether these songs will go to #1, especially with Luke Combs “Better Together” continuing to close the gap.
Despite expecting to stay put at #15 for a second week, “Hole In The Bottle” by Kelsea Ballerini continues to do well on the chart as does Darius Rucker “Beers & Sunshine”. Look for Thomas Rhett to have a Top 20 debut with his new single as one of the struggling Rascal Flatts or Dustin Lynch should round out the Top 20. However neither song is looking great as they took the brunt of the slowdown in this section of the chart.
Another song that really gotten beaten with the slowdown stick was “Long Live” by Florida Georgia Line, and the story wasn’t much better for singles by Tenille Arts, Dylan Scott, Jordan Davis, which also struggled to gain much of any traction while singles from Parmalee/Blanco Brown and Gabby Barrett continue to show great promise to go all the way. Sam Hunt, Dierks Bentley, and Keith Urban/P!nk continue to wait just outside the Top 30 waiting to pounce in as Dierks Bentley and the Keith Urban/P!nk duet sees a bit of a setback week while Sam Hunt holds his own this week , Eric Church is the recipient of the Entercom Song of The Week and as such he should land comfortably in the Top 40. Now unlike Michael Ray and Lee Brice I suspect Eric Church won’t fall as hard and will probably land in the 40s next week. Singles from Taylor Swift and Maren Morris continue to stay complacent in the 30s as Miranda Lambert has a solid week that is well needed this week. Rounding out the Top 40 should be Jake Owen and Brantley Gilbert who both gained enough this week to show some life.
In the 40s and 50s Little Big Town just stay put this week in terms of gains and should stay at #41 this week for a second straight week. Singles from Carly Pearce and Priscilla Block (“Next Girl” and “Just About Over You” respectively) see solid gains considering how static this chart is for this week, as Kane Brown also continues his fast start with “Worship You” and “Dear Rodeo” had a decent week for Cody Johnson and Reba McEntire. Justin Moore as well sees a solid week despite his audience gains on Mediabase being very heavy on Westwood One. After a great week last week Runaway June got a setback this week for “We Were Rich” and singles from Cole Swindell, Robert Counts, Old Dominion, Jimmie Allen/Noah Cyrus continue to be non movers this week. Finally in the bottom of the chart Elvie Shane and Michael Ray show great promise as Garth Brooks/Trisha Yearwood should debut and Ingrid Andress should edge out Luke Combs “Forever After All” and Teddy Robb “Heaven On Dirt” for the last spot on the chart.
Songs I See Leaving Soon Luke Combs “Lovin On You” Jason Aldean “Got What I Got” Kenny Chesney “Happy Does” Cole Swindell “Single Saturday Night” Jimmie Allen & Noah Cyrus “This Is Us”
Songs In Trouble Dan + Shay “I Should Probably Go To Bed” Rascal Flatts “How They Remember You” Dustin Lynch “Momma’s House” Florida Georgia Line “Long Live” Tenille Arts “Somebody Like That” Dylan Scott “Nobody” Taylor Swift “Betty” Maren Morris “To Hell & Back” Robert Counts “What Do I Know”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Teddy Robb “Heaven On Dirt” Luke Combs “Forever After All” Jason Aldean “Blame It On You” Mitchell Tenpenny “Broken Up”
Closing Thoughts This week like I have constantly referred to was a perfect storm to cause a massive slowdown this week in terms of gains. The good news heading into next week I expect both Jason Aldean and Luke Combs to go recurrent, and Thomas Rhett will have the after effects of the iHeartMedia hangover. So next week a lot of the lower songs should gain some more traction and spots especially with Russell Dickerson falling to give away more spins.

Going Recurrent Or Drop Outs None
Comments/Observations A week of shifting parts as no one leaves and everyone just tries to sneak ahead of anyone to gain some traction.
At the top of the chart should be Morgan Wallen with the lead single for his sophomore album “More Than My Hometown” which becomes his fourth straight #1 and last week became his fourth song to hit the Top 20 on the Hot 100. Now I do think Morgan Wallen is gonna be a 1 week #1 with HARDY/Lauren Alaina/Devin Dawson “One Beer” expected to push to #1 next week. That being said I expect “More Than My Hometown” to be a very slow faller from #1 and have a very large longevity on country radio and this chart like we are currently seeing with Lee Brice’s “One Of Them Girls” and Luke Combs “Lovin On You”. Last weeks #1 “Love You Like I Used To” should fall back to the runner-up spot this week. That being said I also expect Russell Dickerson to have a pretty slow ball for his song as well. Right before its big push week “One Beer” has a good shot of sneaking ahead of “Happy Anywhere” by Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani which should clear the path for HARDY and Devin Dawson to score their first Billboard #1s as artists and for Lauren Alaina it would be her third #1. Rounding out the Top 5 should be Chris Lane with “Big Big Plans” which should be at #1 once the collaborations with HARDY and Blake Shelton go to #1 these next 2 weeks.
Lee Brice finally slips outside of the Top 5 after spending 11 weeks in the Top 5. That being said I don’t think Lee Brice is going recurrent any time soon as he would need one of Kenny Chesney/Lady A to rank above him in spins and both are over 1000 spins behind “One Of Them Girls”. Parker McCollum spends a second week at #7 as he gains about the same he did last week as he should enter the Top 5 once Russell Dickerson clears out. Also staying in the same spots as last week should be Luke Combs “Lovin On You”, Jon Pardi “Ain’t Always The Cowboy”, and Dan + Shay “I Should Probably Go To Bed” as Luke Combs continues to have enough of a spin gap away from Kenny Chesney/Lady A to keep him afloat as for Jon Pardi and Dan + Shay both pick up a solid amount of Top 10 conversions and pick up the pace from last week.
Kenny Chesney should re-bullet from last week but “Happy Does” remain a weak link in the Top 15 as he is still not moving a lot and as such that has allowed for Lady A to begin to look like a threat to pass “Happy Does” as “Champagne Night” should be just behind Kenny Chesney on the chart and will probably make the pass next week. Luke Combs stays at #13 for another week while neither Kelsea Ballerini nor Darius Rucker have great weeks with their latest singles. Niko Moon should move up to #16 getting ahead of Chris Stapleton as “Starting Over” pretty much gained nothing this week and should move back to #17. Rounding out the Top 20 should be Rascal Flatts, Dustin Lynch and Florida Georgia Line. All 3 are looking decent although the age, lack of sales and lack of gains does have me concerned for Dustin Lynch “Momma’s House” the most out of all 3 of them.
Below the Top 20 Luke Bryan continues to do well as Thomas Rhett has his iHeartMedia and singles from Tenille Arts, Morgan Walen (I expect with “More Than My Hometown” pushing for #1 this week that’s why this song struggled this week), Jordan Davis, Brothers Osborne, and Dylan Scott don’t gain much traction this week while Parmalee/Blanco Brown “Just The Way” and Gabby Barrett “The Good Ones” saw solid audience gains and look to pass Tenille Arts and Jordan Davis this time next week.
In the 30s, due to Eric Church Entercom’s airplay leaving and Scotty McCreery’s lack of non Entercom airplay does leave Sam Hunt up to at #31. While both Dierks Bentley “Gone” and Keith Urban/Pink duet should finish close together. None of the solo women in the 30s in Maren Morris, Miranda Lambert, or Taylor Swift gain much but for Taylor Swift she does re-bullet which is good for “Betty” but the song is still not moving much. Scotty McCreery “You Time” got the Entercom “Song Of The Week” and as such should be in the Top 40 this week. After sneaking ahead of Brantley Gilbert, Jake Owen should fall back as “Made For You” struggled big time this week and could go recurrent. Little Big Town rounds out the Top 40 with “Wine, Beer, Whiskey”.
In the 40s and 50s besides Eric Church falling back after his Entercom week and Jason Aldean entering the Top 50 on his second week with “Blame It On You” there isn’t much. Justin Moore struggled audience wise, and LoCash saw a solid week even if it isn’t reflected in position.
Songs I See Leaving Soon Luke Combs “Lovin On You” Kenny Chesney “Happy Does” Cole Swindell “Single Saturday Night” Jimmie Allen & Noah Cyrus “This Is Us”
Songs In Trouble Rascal Flatts “How They Remember You” Dustin Lynch “Momma’s House” Tenille Arts “Somebody Like That” Dylan Scott “Nobody” Taylor Swift “Betty” Maren Morris “To Hell & Back” Robert Counts “What Do I Know”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Ingrid Andress "Lady Like" Teddy Robb “Heaven On Dirt” Luke Combs “Forever After All” Mitchell Tenpenny “Broken Up”
Closing Thoughts This week was just such a non mover and I struggled to really say much as after a while it felt like I was talking in circles. Hopefully next week can inject some life into the charts as this week was a big ole dud.

Going Recurrent Or Drop Outs Luke Combs “Lovin On You” Peak #1 (4 Weeks) Weeks: 24 Jimmie Allen & Noah Cyrus “This Is Us” Peak #48 Weeks: 30 Caroline Jones “All Of The Boys” Peak #55 Weeks: 16
Comments/Observations After last week only had Larry Fleet pushed out by Lindsay Ell in terms of songs leaving the chart. Having 2 songs going recurrent and 1 drop out is kind of a bit refreshing.
At the top of the chart should be “One Beer” by HARDY featuring Lauren Alaina Devin Dawson. For both HARDY and Devin Dawson is their very first #1 and for Lauren Alaina this marks her 3rd time at the top of the chart and her first time in a little over 3 years. I do expect this song to have a pretty steady fall given the fact this song has a decently high negative rate on the Mediabase Callout and has been in the Top 10 for quite a while now. In the runner up spot should be next week’s #1 “Happy Anywhere” by Blake Shelton featuring Gwen Stefani as they should pretty easily get the #1 next week. Chris Lane enters the Top 3 this week as he should be #1 afterwards and I wouldn’t be shocked if he holds onto #1 through the holidays. The rest of the Top 5 should be former #1s from Russell Dickerson and Morgan Wallen with the latter falling much faster than the former. Would not be shocked if “More Than My Hometown” is recurrent this time next week.
In the Top 10 with Jon Pardi expected to push the same week as Chris Lane “Ain’t Always The Cowboy” is starting to close in on “Pretty Heart” for the pass. As Parker McCollum kind of trudged through this week. Dan + Shay saw a slightly better week than Parker McCollum but nothing that outstanding as “I Should Probably Go To Bed” kind of stays on an island in terms of how close it is to the songs around it. Entering the Top 10 is Kenny Chesney with “Happy Does” which had a solid week holding off Lady A and more importantly Luke Combs.
Below the Top 10 Luke Combs “Better Together” looks to make the pass on Lady A “Champagne Night”. Kelsea Ballerini continues to hold her own as she inches one spot closer to her 7th Top 10 on country radio. Darius Rucker also moves up a spot having a pretty sedated week for “Beers & Sunshine”. Rounding out the Top 15 should be one of Niko Moon or Chris Stapleton as after getting passed last week by Niko Moon, “Starting Over” really saw the fuse lit back and could get right back ahead of “Good Time”. Speaking of passing it looks like younger singles from Florida Georgia Line, and Luke Bryan should pass singles from Rascal Flatts and Dustin Lynch as both “How They Remember You” and “Momma's House” are really starting to emerge as the weak links within the Top 20 as neither have really stood out for quite a while now.
Below the Top 20, Thomas Rhett has a solid rebound week with “What’s Your Country Song” and he should easily enter the Top 20 and will also probably pass at least one if not both Rascal Flatts and Dustin Lynch next week. Tenille Arts and Parmalee/Blanco Brown see solid weeks and for Tenille Arts is a definite welcome for her single “Somebody Like That” as she had to re-bullet this week and she should stay pretty comfortably on the chart this week. Strangely enough ”7 Summers” did not move at all in terms of audience gains, while Jordan Davis managed to rebound enough and should sneak ahead of Morgan Wallen. Dylan Scott sees a solid week for “Nobody” as he should also sneak ahead of another song that was ahead of him in Gabby Barrett “The Good Ones” which had a strangely slow week this week. Brothers Osborne did have a decent week and holds off Brett Young for another week with “All Night” but I do think this song is starting to become a weak link as it has been stuck in the #27-#31 range for quite a while now it seems like. Brett Young begins to gain some momentum finally with “Lady” as he actually saw a pretty good week. Entering the Top 30 in it’s 10th week should be the Keith Urban & Pink duet “One Too Many”. This song is not doing poorly but even with chart runs being a bit more stretched out something about this chart run still feels underwhelming.
In the 30s, Sam Hunt really misses his opportunity to sneak into the Top 30 this week as “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90s” sees a very slow week of gains, likewise with Dierks Bentley “Gone” (minus sneaking into the Top 30) as Dierks looks to probably just stay put in terms of audience which has allowed Maren Morris “To Hell & Back” a chance to get ahead as Maren’s song gets a nice adrenaline boost after a few rather dull week of gains. After going through Entercom hangover last week Eric Church should see a gain of 5 spots from #39 to #34 as he sees a solid week. A song that took a hit this week was shockingly Miranda Lambert “Settling Down” as she has a decent chance of singles from Taylor Swift, Brantley Gilbert, and/or Jake Owen of passing her at least temporarily. The bottom of the Top 40 should be the current “Entercom Song of The Week” by Jameson Rodgers with Luke Combs, and Little Big Town “Wine, Beer, Whiskey” with the latter’s audience total (this week should be about 2.6 to 2.7 million for Little Big Town) starting to be a good measurement for how Entercom Song Of The Week should go for artists that aren’t established (Jameson Rodgers, Michael Ray, and Scotty McCreery).
In the 40s, Old Dominion sees a solid week which has allowed it to enter the fray with Carly Pearce, Kane Brown, Justin Moore, and Priscilla Block. Carly Pearce saw a solid week for “Next Girl” as she is starting to eye her 6th Top 40 single on country radio. Same can’t be said in terms of audience gains for the other three of Kane Brown, Justin Moore, and Priscilla Block as none of them gained much, if any traction this week. Runaway June had a decent week which allowed them to sneak back ahead of Cody Johnson/Reba as their Mediabase Position (#35) continues to greatly outpace it’s Billboard Position (#46). Lee Brice and Jason Aldean see solid weeks as Jason Aldean enters the Top 50 in his third week. The last spot in the Top 50 looks to come down to struggling singles from Cole Swindell and Robert Counts, and the song experiencing the Entercom hangover Scotty McCreery “You Time”.
Rounding out the bottom of the chart we have the usual 50s dwelling singles from Chris Janson, LoCash, Elvie Shane, and Michael Ray. Lindsay Ell should set a new peak with “Want Me Back” as she is really getting carried by WNSH like Ryan Hurd “Every Other Memory” earlier this year, and the last two spots should be re-entering singles from Ingrid Andress and A Thousand Horses, but don’t rule out Caroline Jones staying on for one more week, or either of Garth Brooks/Trisha Yearwood debuting or Larry Fleet re-entering instead.
Songs I See Leaving Soon Morgan Wallen “More Than My Hometown” Lee Brice “One Of Them Girls” Cole Swindell “Single Saturday Night”
Songs In Trouble Rascal Flatts “How They Remember You” Dustin Lynch “Momma’s House” Brothers Osborne “All Night” Taylor Swift “Betty” Maren Morris “To Hell & Back” Robert Counts “What Do I Know”
Songs I See Debuting/Returning Soon Teddy Robb “Heaven On Dirt” Larry Fleet “Where I Find God” Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood “Shallow” Mitchell Tenpenny “Broken Up” Clay Walker “Need A Bar Sometimes”
Closing Thoughts This week was a nice reprieve from last week's whole stalemate on the chart. That being said next week is probably gonna be pretty dull, as I think “More Than My Hometown” realistically will be the only recurrent next week so expect a good chunk of +1 up the chart with some sneaking around by other songs. Maybe a one off recurrent like a Cole Swindell (here’s hoping) but overall the chart is really starting to settle in as we head into the Christmas slowdown as outside of the singles expected to peak in the next few weeks (“Happy Anywhere”, “Big Big Plans”, and “Ain’t Always The Cowboy”) and the songs already peaked (“One Beer”, “Love You Like I Used To”, “More Than My Hometown”, and “One Of Them Girls”) I don’t really see anyone else leaving before the start of the new year.
