Fail at this countdown that lists the most contorversial moments in music for 2011 and has included Britney's whole 'OMG she has a fake gun near where someone was shot lets ask her for money' debacle. then again they also included Selena Gomez painting a horse pink or whatever, so im guessing there wasn't many really controversial moments in music this year. music.uk.msn.com/christmas/controversial-moments-in-music-2011#image=16

Strangest love why they rejected it, it so beautiful. This has happened time and time again. Jive doesn't think that style fits her albums but I have a feeling after getting married and possibly having another kid as well as being 30 they are going to transition her into the more adult contemporary songs mixed with more classic pop/dance songs. I doubt we will see another Blackout or FF from her. All she needs to really do is incorporate more songs like State of grace, everytime, everyday, strangest love, shadow, heaven on earth, trip to your heart, and then we kiss, mad love, i run away, when i found you, unusual you, and Inside out...into her albums with the classic pop/dance songs and she will be fine.

I watched the Femme Fatale Tour DVD tonight. I was really disappointed overall - I thought it was a lackluster, uninspired effort from her, from the choreography to the wardrobe to the arrangements. She just didn't seem to be there. Walking around on stage, flapping your arms, doing knee bends and executing simple time steps don't meet my expectations for a Britney concert. I paused the DVD after Slave 4 U and watched the VMA performance, and it was like night and day.
I haven't seen the Circus tour - do fans generally prefer that to FF?

Maybe you believed I said that she was going to be an AC singer but I didn't. I do believe they are going to incorporate more of the songs in the style similar to the ones that I listed + mix with more classic dance/pop songs. Just my opinion... but I would be shocked if they just continue having her make albums like Blackout and FF where there is 85%+ dance songs and one or two midtempos at best. I think she will continue with more mid tempos and ballads and the songs will be more mature and introspective. But, that could also be done with an uptempo as well. I expect more of a mix than just uptempos and tack on one ballad. When she actually starts releasing songs like the ones that I listed instead of a 10 single streak of uptempos than more people will understand how diverse she is and will understand why the fans are so loyal. Many ppl just think of her dance songs but she has songs like Everytime too. However, when you have 20 uptempos vs a handful of ballads ppl will focus more on the majority. I think her team will change it up a little bit. Really, I don't think her career can sustain another FF (which I love). Ppl are really going to start expecting more from her.

Wow, haven't posted on a Britney thread for awhile!
So, another year of Britney mania - can't believe it's now been 12 years in which Britney has been a prevalent figure in the media (whether bad or good. :))
Where will she go from here?
Let me first start off by saying I'm stoked she's finally gotten her personal life in check. Let's be honest - Britney's sanity/well being is the most important thing in her life; selling records and performing trail significantly. She's met a man that treats her well, and she truly seems happy/content again - something we've haven't seen from her in a long time. So kudos to that! I'm sure she'll be married in the next 6 months, and I wouldn't be surprised if she had one more baby with Jason. Assuming this all plays out, I don't think we'll see Britney "the singer" for at least 2 years, aside from a few minor guest appearances that she's known to make.
Professionally, I'm still a little disappointed. Femme Fatale was a step in the right direction, but Britney "the performer" is still lacking. I know we'll never see Britney ala 2003 (I've finally accepted this), but I know she can still give one heck of a performance, and I'm still waiting to see it. I still get the vibe that she's not comfortable on stage, and in her own skin when she's on stage. Hard to believe given the performances she gave between 2000 - 2004. And no excuses - so she's had 2 kids and is 30 years old...that doesn't mean she can't still put on a great performance.
Professionally, Britney has hit a fork in the road - seeing as she's not known as the "great performer" she once was, Britney needs to take her music in a different direction - something more artistic and from the soul. The ONLY album where Britney's artistic side really showed was In The Zone (personally, hands down her best album to date). But since that album, her music has been overly manufactored. She's now 30 years old - releasing this dance, rave music won't work for much longer, especially if she wants her fans to grow with her. I'd really like to see her write/produce more of her own music, and start releasing ballads. Sure she doesn't have the greatest voice, but I find it rather soothing/appealing. And if we can't get the "great performance" we are all dying for, I'd much rather have her sit on stage singing a ballad.
Overall, it was a good year for Britney - she had three top 10 singles, 2 number one singles (one collab with Rihanna), another number one album, and a very successful worldwide tour.
But I'm still hoping for more from her, at least artistically. Her personal life is falling into place rather nicely, and I sure hope her professional life does the same in the next few years.
Here's to another great year Ms. Spears! :)

I know he's not choreographing anymore, but if somehow they could just get him to personally work with britney, his energy is just what Britney needs to work towards. She should be mature enough at this point to not feel anxious about that cuz of the whole JT situation back then.

^ It isn't the choreographers who have been lacking; it's Britney. She refuses to do any intricate choreography and forces them to dumb down the steps for her. Her back-up dancers do the full choreography while she does the watered-down version. Her excuse is that she's a mother now and she doesn't have the time to learn complicated choreography. So, in short, she and her team could bring Wade back, but it wouldn't make a difference.

I bought the FF DVD for 13.99 and was pretty dissapointed. I felt like I was watching a lond boring music video. Even the new vocals sounded muffled and weird. I also didn't like they would mute out the audiance so much at parts that it didn't even feel like a concert anymore.

I think ever since she injured her knee in 2004, she's been afraid to do any sort of remotely challenging leg routine. That's one of the reasons she's lost her fluidity as a dancer.

I don't like this excuse about the knee to be honest, watch her performance of Circus on GMA in 2008, she performed really well and it didn't look lacklustre at all, so why can't she do that anymore? i think she just needs to slim down a lot more, because whatever people say and defend her, she was a lot bigger this era than previous.

All she pretty much did in that performance was walk around and point though. She's lost grace and fluidity in her leg movements, losing a few pounds isn't going to restore that.
