The title track from Lee Ann Womack's new album will be the lead single and will premiere this week Great news! Thanks for sharing! :) Lee Ann of course signed with Welk Music Group/Sugar Hill Records not that long ago; I'm not too familiar with Sugar Hill Records, though. If they have a promo team, they haven't charted any songs on Billboard, or at least none that I know of. Uncle Kracker is signed to them as well, but his radio singles were either promoted by Bigger Picture or RPM. Pretty much all I know about Sugar Hill is that they do have a lot of good bluegrass/Americana-type artists on their roster. Hopefully Lee Ann can get some airplay, though. I'm curious to see whether Sugar Hill will just send the song to radio (even if they don't really have the means to promote it) or if it's possible that some outside indie label will step in for radio promotion.

@kennyjayradio 2h The long-awaited new music from @littlebigtown will be here in the next couple weeks - listen for #DayDrinking soon! Confirmed single for LBT. I've heard the single should be hitting digital retailers on June 2.

Not sure if there is any confirmed information about this, but I thought I would ask here...I saw Florida Georgia Line performed "People Back Home" from the re-release of their album at the Country Troops special that aired this week. Is this the next single, or just a performance for the show?

A lead single should drop in June or July.

It seems Kristian Bush has settled on a single. He had been singing/testing songs as I said in another post a few weeks ago. The song that I noticed being played, via twitter, is Trailer Hitch. I tweeted to confirm so if I hear back, I'll post back about it and set him up a post.

Brandy Clark's e-mail said that her current single is "Hungover". Unfortunately, I don't have XM anymore so I don't know if it has been for awhile, but this is the first I've seen of that. A bit of a surprising choice, but a pretty good song nonetheless. WKMOOH and JLH seem like more obvious choices for radio, but I can see why the feelings portrayed in Hungover might connect with listeners. Very few opportunities to pick the wrong single on this album.

She said she is 99% sure that 'Southern Gravity' is the first single. He said something about everyone will be able to hear it on the radio in a few weeks. This song is also the title track of the album due out later this year. Seems Trailer Hitch was just a tester on that station when he visited it.

Anything new from Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean coming? Columbia Nashville (Kenny's label) said at CRS that there would be a brand new Chesney single released sometime in June.

Dunno if anyone has posted, but when they opened for Hunter Hayes during record week, The Railers announced that they should have a single out in late summer IIRC. I was very impressed by their performance. Ton of energy for 3 AM (meanwhile HH was extremely pale when he went on at 4 AM though surely he had a good deal more going on all week)

They have a 5 song cd on their site and it is great.

Any idea what's going on with Sara Evans? I was sure they'd have a second single announced right after "Slow Me Down" went recurrent. Hopefully they'll make an announcement this week.

Booth here at fan fest, haven't got a chance to listen yet but I have a twenty hour drive back home and I plan to give a listen then.

A friend of mine informed me today that one of their friends just got done editing Kacey's new single, which was named "The Trailer Song".
Now we Kacey fans all know that she's been playing this song live for years - people were upset when this wasn't on the first record. Also an acoustic version or something was offered as part of some Samsung deal a couple months ago. So I'm not completely sold on the information I was given about it being the lead single off album #2. But regardless of whether it's the lead single or not, it looks like it will appear on the album and that album is closer than we previously thought.

Whether it's a single or just included on the next album, I'll be ecstatic that we'll get a studio version of the song. I recently came across her Opry performance of that track and was stunned it wasn't on her debut because it's easily better than half the songs on Same Trailer, Different Park, and I figured given the title being "The Trailer Song" it seemed strange that it didn't make the album.

I'm not completely sold on the information I was given about it being the lead single off album #2. Sounds to me like a possible re-release or something of that sort for Same Trailer Different Park, which could also explain why "Keep It To Yourself" has suddenly hit a brick wall at radio right after 3-4 weeks of very solid gains (likely radio would know the label's plans).

Its in your face and full of sass, which is what I think turns some country listeners off of Kacey (at least this is my guess, I don't understand the hate for her voice or her beautiful country songs). Plus, the lyrics "You say that you’re watching the birds out the window, Well I’ve got a bird you can watch" and I ain’t gonna ask whose been mowing your grass, So you ain’t gotta ask who mows mine" might come across as shocking or vulgar to people (at least those who can read between the lines). I'm a huge Kacey fan, and love that she is outspoken and sassy, but want her to release more singles that showcase her talent, so that casual country fans can stop complaining about her "attitude" and start giving her a chance.

I disagree with this idea personally. It's obviously a big part of who she is and the kind of music she desires to make, so why would she try to mask that? Either people will like her for it or not, but clearly there a lot of people who are enjoying what they've been hearing since she's sold a lot of records with very minimal airplay, especially compared to many of her male peers who are getting better radio reception thus far. I'd liken it to the idea that Miranda Lambert might've turned some off with her aggressive songs, but those were her trademark and she made it clear from the start that she wouldn't shy away or compromise her artistry for "safer" material, and ironically enough her biggest hits from her first two albums were those bad girl anthems. So, apparently she made more fans than not by going that route, and I think the same will be true of Kacey. My only complaint regarding "The Trailer Song" is if it's indeed being released sometime soon. "Keep It to Yourself" seemed to be picking up pretty nicely and as a big fan of that song (best track on the album imo), I would've really liked to see them ride that one out and get the highest peak out of it as possible, because I can see that at least going as high as "Blowin' Smoke," probably a little higher.

I agree with what you are saying, and your comparison to Miranda Lambert is spot on. But just like the bad girl, tough anthems aren't the only side to Miranda (The House That Built Me, New Strings, Over You, Heart Like Mine show her softness), neither is the in your-face attitude with Kacey Musgraves (Silver Linings, My House, Dandelion, I Miss You, Back on the Map, Keep it to yourself, show her vulnerability and realness). Sure, being outspoken will always be a part of who Kacey and Miranda are, but I think artists can (and should) show a different side of themselves without it compromising their artistry. I remember Miranda Lambert saying for the longest time that she was put in that "tough gil- revenge anthem" box and that she had a hard time getting people to take her seriously because of it. I would hate for Kacey to have to have to go through that as well, when she does have a diverse catalog of songs to choose from and too much of the same is not always a good thing.

Not sure if I should ask this here or in the non-single post. I noticed several stations testing/playing All of Me - John Legend/Jennifer Nettles/Hunter Hayes. It's the studio version that they are playing. I know John hinted it could be sent to country radio. My question is, has it been sent to radio officially or are these stations doing it on their own?
