According to ads in the daily Aircheck emails, it Looks like Dylan Scott will have a new single out soon, possibly something dealing with fried chicken? Lol If they send it for adds in July, I'm sure it will crack the top 60 by August...2015.

It's been spun a few times on The Highway and Dylan has talked about this being his next single.

Seriously? That's a song title? Please, just Please someone needs to shoot Country music and put it out of it's misery! That is just pathetic!

Even if that turns out to be a good song (though I have my doubts), I agree on the title being just plain awful.

View AttachmentDoes this Jason Aldean tweet mean "Burnin' It Down" is his first single off his new record? Definitely seems like it. I suppose he could just be using the #BurnItDown hashtag to reference the album and the actual first single wouldn't be the title track, but I am guessing that the title track will indeed be first.

There is not a song called "Burn It Down" on there. I highly, highly doubt it's a greatest hits album either, as Jason actually said "brand new album". Plus, greatest hits packages are mostly a thing of the past...they don't sell all that well nowadays in the digital age.

These tweets are definitely intriguing!

Also find it funny that they are under the same Big Machine umbrella as the artist who sings "Get Me Some of That," lol.

It'll definitely be interesting since they are on the same label as Thomas Rhett. I mean, they are sure to bump into each other at a lot of label events.
Anyway while I'm really excited for the song, if it has strong lyrics and sounds somewhat like 90's country (Maddie & Tae list Dixie Chicks, Lee Ann Womack, and Shania Twain as influences, among others), it'll basically be the opposite of what today's 'country' radio is all about. Obviously it's hard to guess since we haven't heard the song yet, but I would love to see people rally about it.

I do love these lyrics and cannot wait to hear more from Maddie & Tae who mention artists like Shania and Lee Ann Womack as major influences, but they are on BMLG. They also have the likes of artists like FGL, Brantley Gilbert, and Thomas Rhett. In my opinion they have been one of the leaders of the bro-country phenomenon, though you can see why they've embraced it due to it's success. There's a part of me that feels that they make sure they (BMLG) are the first one's to poke fun at themselves, rather than another artist or label. Kind of something that will appeal to fans who have been against the likes of songs like "Get Me Some Of That", "Bottoms Up", and "This Is How We Roll", so they can perhaps prolong this music a little while longer. Or maybe I'm being to critical and they are genuinely ready to take that step forward away from the type of music that has been presented to country radio for the past year and a half. I'm anxious to hear this but on the same token, I feel like OK, what's the catch? Because it's from BMLG. Scott Borchetta has said how they need their songwriters and artists to challenge themselves and curb these style of songs in the future so maybe this is a start and these girls can make an impact on country radio which lately hasn't been kind to female artists lately getting hit singles.

It's really hard to find something about these girls, so we'll have to wait till the single drops. I really want to be optimistic about them, but I'm not sure if they're gonna be able to actually make a big impact. I found this recent video of them and you can't really judge an artist by just one song, but I found nothing different or special about their sound. Let's hear "Girl In a Country Song" to see if it changes. I'd love to burn my tongue on this.

"Waiting on a Plane" sounds pretty good. These girls are giving me The Wreckers vibes, and for me, that is definitely a good thing. I've been lamenting the lack of any girl groups or duos at country radio for years now and I'd love to see that void filled asap. Maddie & Tae seem to be on the right track for me, between the promising message of their forthcoming debut single and that video posted above where I got a feel that they are vocally and musically in the right place for me. Looking forward to seeing how they do!

I would like to ask everyone to take a listen to this. Logan Mize is one of the few new artists playing real country music. This is his current single, Can't Get Away From a Good Time. I would like to see this added to the current singles. m.youtube.com/watch?v=6LU_8SsHa7U

Very excited about this female duo! I'll buy their album out of intrigue. Loved the Wreckers but you can't compare these girls to the voice and songwriting talent of Michelle Branch. But they are so young and have a ton of room to grow. I'm gonna be following them. Looking forward to more information!

^ I do enjoy Logan Mize. His voice isn't that great to be honest but he does have a knack for songwriting and lyrics. The problem is he's an independent artist on a small label called Big Yellow Dog Records/Publishing right now and gets very little airplay at country radio outside of indicator stations and The Highway. His voice is very different from a lot of other artists. It is very unique. His music is better than a lot of the other stuff on radio right now. He still sings about drinking and girls, but it's not like the generic stuff that all sounds the same today. I would love to see Logan move to a bigger record label. You do have to give him credit for working his way up the hard way. He's building a supportive fan base and loyal fans. The best thing that can help him is to get his name and music out there. He has been doing cameos on TV for added publicity (Hart of Dixie, Hayden Panettiere's Cotton commercial) Logan is one of the many hard working new artists out there who are doing everything they can to make a name for themselves. I think his style of country is exactly what needs to be played on radio. It's fresh and new. And you can tell its country. It's not the generic sound everyone is using currently. There are so many other artists like Logan Mize that have better music than what is being played currently on radio.

I love how the song references to the popular bro-country songs as they get their message across about what happened to girls in country songs. Very interesting and exciting to see how it will be received and on how it will play on the charts.

I saw that Windmills had tweeted it earlier but couldn't use it on my phone. Have you tried copying the link and pasting it directly into a browser window? When I did that it opened my Windows Media Player and I was able to listen to it. As for the song - love it. It's clever and really says everything I've been saying about the 'bro-country' phenomenon this whole time, and I love that they have the guts to put themselves out there taking on the ridiculous objectification that's happening in country radio today. That being said, while I agree that they'll garner plenty of attention for the song, and I'm sure the artists they shade will pay attention in some part, the people who should be paying attention - the women these songs are objectifying - will not. I am hoping I am wrong, but I just don't see the girls out there who are swooning over Chase Rice, Thomas Rhett, Jason Aldean, and Luke Bryan waking up after hearing this song and being like 'OMG! I've been disrespected and objectified THIS WHOLE TIME! Why am I at a country concert wearing nothing but a bikini top and booty shorts? What is wrong with me?!?" I just don't see it having as much of an impact on the listening public, other than the male bro fans thinking these girls are just whiny haters. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong. I hope it changes some people's minds and I hope it opens more eyes to what's going on right now. I'd love for this to become an anthem for these young girls, and I'd love to see it thrown back in the bros' faces. But I guess I'm just far too cynical to foresee that happening.

^ That's a real good point. Maybe the critic will love it, but as far as public acclamation goes, I think most of the "new generation" of country listeners will tend to stand on the bro-country side.
And yes, I've tried everything. Media Player Classic, WMP, VLC, BS Player, pasting the link on the browser (both Firefox and Chrome) and nothing!! Guess I'll have to wait.

I think this will get attention..by being an absolute smash. Maddie & Tae will lead the charge of new young females.
As far as the objectified females not responding...give them a chance... when Shania burst on the scene the women responded... I would expect no less from today's ladies.
Also...it is possible to like both brocountry and this. With bmlg/dot/universal behind this, it will not fail. These girls are stars.

I believe Maddie&Tae will be able to get the same fans and type of fans that Taylor Swift had and still has early on in her Career. Will they be able to capture the girls that love the Bro's? Probably not but they won't have to.

But that doesn't stop me from liking his music, and I do enjoy "Can't Get Away From A Good Time" for the lyrics alone. It remains to be seen if he can hook on with a bigger label or get a promotion team on his side so that he can better himself for country radio.

WOW. This is so ballsy; it is either going to pi** people off and they will never get played or they could be remembered for the start of the end of bro country. This situation is hero or zero, really no in between.

Holy shit just listened to this song for the first time. Colt actually sings a little in this song and his rapping isn't really the prominent and feels more like spoken words.... Real lyrics about real life. Watch out this could be his first radio hit.
