Already a thread for it. :) Sam Hunt - "Take Your Time"I'm a tad surprised it will be so quickly after "Leave The Night On" exits the #1 position but I guess that MCA didn't want to a December add date and certainly didn't want to wait til after the new year.

It will probably have a January add date.

It will probably have a January add date. That's doubtful. I've never seen that long of a gap between "released to radio" and "adds date" unless it's for an artist's debut single (Swon Bros, for example). If "Take Your Time" is indeed sent to radio on Monday the 10th, then I would guess it has an adds date no later than 11/24 or 12/01.

Those dates would make more sense but if it's later than that, it'd be "lost" to the freeze/Christmas play anyway.

Those dates would make more sense but if it's later than that, it'd be "lost" to the freeze/Christmas play anyway. Every year there are songs with December adds dates. I expect at least a small handful of songs to go for adds on the 1st and maybe 1 or 2 songs to go for adds on Monday December 8. So there are still 4-5 Mondays yet that songs can go for adds. When we get to January, Monday the 12th is probably the earliest that labels will look to send songs for adds. And that's more than 2 months away yet, so that's too big of a gap between singles for Sam. He's red hot right now and he'll get on the chart just fine with a late November/early December adds date, especially since most of the "bigger" names already have singles well inside the top 40 (meaning, Sam won't have as much competition).

You certainly pay more attic toon to radio-specific stuff than I do, especially add date methods and such, so I'll defer to you on this.

Big & Rich's next single will be Lovin' Lately featuring Tim McGraw. They announced it at the concert I was at last night.

The production on "Smoke When I Drink" sounds pretty terrible from that clip. I've just been so unimpressed with Kelleigh's output so far and apparently radio doesn't seem to be feeling her either, so I wonder how many more chances she'll get. This could be her last shot. As a random aside, I find it interesting that her next single will have a title so similar to Miranda Lambert's latest.

I think if her label had promoted Sorry on the Rocks AT ALL they wouldn't be in this place where they cant get to chart high enough. That song made the top 40 on its own

That song made the top 40 on its own I think her last two singles sounded like better chances at being hits than "Sorry on the Rocks," honestly. Even with ample promotion, I didn't see that one doing much. I'm a bit surprised that it actually peaked a little higher than her last two, though radio probably just had a little initial interest in her then that has since faded (and they waited a long time to release "Famous" as her follow-up, too).

What about "original" Christmas Singles coming out? Are we going to pay any attention to those? I'm not talking about where the artist do another Holiday Classic, but artists that are pushing "NEW & Original" Christmas tunes to radio. Ones that come through PlayMPE, possibly All Access, CDX (volumes 607 & 608 for example,) etc? Just a thought Maybe a separate thread for those? Just curious; those tend to get overlooked and the Christmas season seems to be a "right off" and time to ignore the radio, but every once in a while there can be a few gems that come out :)

They're not technically "radio singles". Only a few get released to radio but not promoted really other than the fact its Christmas time. But here's one that Darius Rucker released to radio about two weeks ago called "What God Wants For Christmas" off his new Christmas album. :)

There's the new Glen Campbell single on 12/1 too. Via Dot. Not that it'll do anything.

"Run Away With You" is a very good choice. It should do pretty well for them at radio and they can come with "Lovin' Lately" as their third single later in 2015.

Not to get people too excited but I just heard "Kiss Me When I'm Down" by Ryan Kinder on The Highway for the first time since the Summer. Perhaps Warner Music is prepared to re-release it.
Again, not anything to get hopes high for but I thought it was interesting to note.

Has anyone heard anything from Eli Young Band and whether they're continuing with the 10,000 Towns era or not? I really hope they can try another single at the top of the New Year, preferably the title track or "A Lot Like Love".
