Kenny Chesney has just announced his 2018 "Trip Around The Sun" tour. I wonder if this is an indication of it being his next single. I saw that this morning and this was my same thought as well. It's definitely not a sure thing, as I'm sure Kenny could get into the studio and record a new album over the winter/spring, with the lead single potentially coming out just before the tour starts in April, but then why name the tour after a song on Cosmic Hallelujah? It's interesting, though, because on the one hand, Cosmic Hallelujah has only been out for a year (Oct. 28, 2016 release date), but on the other hand, its 1st and 3rd singles weren't very big hits. Does that mean they'd be more or less likely to release a 5th single? It's hard to say, but maybe they'd want to release "Trip Around The Sun" as the 5th and final single since "All The Pretty Girls" did quite well, certainly much better than "Noise" and "Bar At The End Of The World". Kenny's had a few albums that produced 5 singles, the last being Hemingway's Whiskey back in 2010. He even had one album with 6 singles (2004's When The Sun Goes Down), but I certainly don't think we'll get a 6-album single from him again, and even a 5th single from Cosmic Hallelujah isn't guaranteed yet. But I do think there's a pretty good possibility of it happening. In the eyes of the label, I wonder if they even count Noise (meaning this would be the 3rd single, not the 4th). The song underperformed so badly that they pushed the album release back a few months, changed the title, and centered its release around the success of Settin' The World On Fire. I know Noise was included on the album, so technically it counts as the lead single, but it wouldn't surprise me to see another single for just that reason. All the better if it's the best song on the album.

With Carrie Underwood performing at the CMA Awards, could we see her debut a new lead single? It seems way to late for a medley and "The Fighter" peaked a while back, so if she is performing it would seem a new lead single is a possibility. Someone told me her new single is called "Paint", and she is filming music video for it this week. I do think she will debut it on the CMA's.

I really hope this person is right as I am somewhat hopeful that the new Carrie Underwood single will be good. Definitely shocked she is releasing new music as I expected new music in January for her.

There's been some drama speculation in the Carrie Underwood artist thread in regards to Carrie debuting the single around the CMAs and performing it. Nothing set in stone, but there has been some concrete evidence to prove she's been in the studio/on set doing something the past couple weeks. But it could be a photo shoot for Calia, so don't get too excited about new music yet.

www.allaccess.com/country/cool-new-musicHas anyone else been tracking the new Silverado Songwriter Series that Silverado Records came out with? Tyler Jordan's track Why Her has hit 130k streams in a month. Looks like they will be pushing the single to radio.

David Lee Murphy has a new single coming out. It’s a duet with Kenny Chesney called “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”. It’s from David’s upcoming album called No Zip Code. Look for the ad in tonight’s Country Aircheck Weekly.

Also, there's an ad in Country Aircheck with the word "FEMALE" in paint-like font written on it, with the same 11/8 date.

So I did a survey for Miranda's next single.
The choices were:
"Highway Vagabond" "Good Ol' Days" "Getaway Driver" "Keeper Of The Flame" "Runnin' Just In Case"
I'm hoping either GD or KOTF get picked but all make sense if there's going to be another single.

Interesting. I was kinda beginning to think this might be it for the era at radio and that we wouldn't get a fourth single, but maybe that means they have no plans for promoting the forthcoming Pistol Annies record to radio at all, as that was part of why I was suspecting they might wrap TWOTW era on "Tin Man." But I guess if that's not going to happen, a fourth single would make sense since her next album likely won't come out for another year at least given her usual timeline of putting out new records. "Keeper of the Flame" is probably my least favorite from that set, but it's also likely her best bet from the album at another (at least) medium-sized hit if they're going to keep the era going, imo. "Highway Vagabond" or "Good Ol' Days" could suffice as well, though I think to a lesser extent. I'd kill for "Getaway Driver" to be released though because that's one of my favorite songs she's ever done, but I can't see it doing a lot on the charts, especially following "Tin Man."

I was wondering about Hunter, it seems like country radio hasn’t been to kind for him lately as far as airplay. Hopefully a new single means the label will still try to push him.

Eric Church will release 61 Days In Church on April 29th, according to AllAccess. FYI 90 of the 122 songs are on Apple Music currently, and about 60 are on Spotify. Overall it'll be about 60 of his songs and 60 covers for every tour stop His "Better Man", "Big City", "Ophelia", "Sundown", "Get Back", "6 Days on the Road", "Rock Island Line" covers are all great, a bunch of other ones too are really good.

Jessie James Decker got an add this week with a song with Randy Houser called "Almost Over You". I wonder if that will be a single? I saw that and wondered the same thing. I think it'd be a smart release for both of them, especially if Epic (JJD's label) could get Stoney Creek (Randy's label) to promote it to radio. The only other option would be something like New Revolution, because while Epic is a Sony label, it's not Nashville-based, and I haven't seen any indications that Sony Nashville might be interested in promoting any of Jessie's music to country radio.

While you're probably right, they'd be smart to put something out in the next couple weeks (if they have the right song ready) to capitalize on their momentum from the CMAs. I think there is a lot of interest in them from their win and performance. Risky going into the Christmas freeze but I think they should take the chance if they have the song ready.

Chris Janson got an add this week with "Drunk Girl". I wonder if that indicates that it'll be the second single off his current album. Same goes for Luke Combs as he got 2 adds for a song titled "One Number Away".

One Number Away is definitely the best choice for Combs
