Chris Janson got an add this week with "Drunk Girl". I wonder if that indicates that it'll be the second single off his current album. Same goes for Luke Combs as he got 2 adds for a song titled "One Number Away". Drunk Girl is a great song but wow that'd be a risky radio choice. One Number Away is definitely the best choice for Combs Idk. I feel like "Drunk Girl" would sound great in the winter months and with "Fix a Drink" taking only 27 weeks to peak, I think that song could work if it was released early next year.

For what it's worth, the Highway has started playing Everybody. So more than likely the label is probably gonna choose between those two. Neither one is a bad pick. I'm hoping more for "Drunk Girl".

I think Everybody is another #1, then Drunk Girl would be less of a risk considering he'd be coming off two straight smashes. Needs another hit to stay relevant now

I'm rooting for "Everybody" that song is one of my favorites of this past year so hopefully that is next!

We don't know what the intentions are with radio airplay yet but RateTheMusic has a new survey for Country specific listeners on the new Sir Roosevelt song, "Something 'Bout You."
The group includes Zac Brown, of course.

"Something 'Bout You" is a jam. Not sure if it should be on country radio, but I do love it (more than anything on ZBB's newest album).

It would be an interesting release, assuming they won't bother with another single off ZBB's latest album.

I noticed on the upcoming soundtrack album for the movie Bright, Sam Hunt has a solo titled song on there "This Land Is Your Land". Other songs from the album are being promoted to radio, so I wonder if this could possible serve as Sam's next single? Just a heads up, but even if it's not promoted, I could see country radio just start playing it anyways (similar to Luke Bryan's "Games").

With the David Lee Murphy song out, it seemed as if Kenny Chesney would wait before releasing any new music. But he had been in studio this fall -- at least recording something involving hurricane relief. I wonder if this isn't coming out soon, because he has scheduled a Late Night performance next week.

Big Machine has used RadioTraks to issue a survey on the next single from Midland.
All the tracks on their debut album, aside from the two that have already been released, are in the survey.

My vote goes to "This Old Heart" or "Check Cashin' Country," while noting it would be ironic for the latter to become a hit.

The year end Country Aircheck will be out sooner or later (love when that comes out as we get to know what labels plans are for Q1 and get new music info). Anyways there's a lot of artists that are on major labels that have yet to release their debut single and I wonder how many of them will. Here's all the ones that I have so far. Kassi Ashton Ben Gallaher Old Crow Medicine Show Lauren Jenkins Alex Williams Josh Phillips The Church Sisters Tyler Rich Jimmie Allen Restless Road At least that's all the ones from the main 5 (UMG Nashville, Broken Bow, Big Machine, Sony, and Warner even if Warner doesn't have one right now it seems like). Another intriguing thing I noticed is CMT did this thing titled "18 for 2018" and what I read it seemed to indicate who CMT at least will think could break out (bound to be some repeats from up above so beware). Abby Anderson (Black River artist) Ashley McBryde (already has a single out in "A Little Dive Bar In Dahlonega") Bailey Bryan (they're bound to try another single with her) Cale Dodds (Warner Music Nashville) Delta Rae (has a current song on the radio) Devin Dawson (Top 15 single on radio) Jillian Jacqueline (debut single "Reasons" will be going for adds in January) Jimmie Allan (Broken Bow artist) Jordan Davis (Top 30 in "Singles You Up") Kassi Ashton (From what the Music Row article said I think a Q2 release for her debut single is what I would expect) Levon (same as Bailey Bryan) Maggie Rose (this one stumps me a bit, maybe she's in talk with a label signing) Morgan Evans Morgan Wallen (both Morgan's have songs out) Russell Dickerson Ryan Kinder (I think the label is really committed to this guy) The Sisterhood (I expect them to be assigned an imprint on Sony soon and a debut single sometime next year) Tyler Rich (he as well will probably have a debut single). Here's a link to what I'm talking about. www.cmt.com/news/1789438/cmt-listen-up-reveals-18-for-2018/

Dierks played a new song last night in Vegas. No word on whether it will be the lead single. Video should be on YouTube soon if anyone is interested.

According to American Country Countdown we should expect new Sam Hunt music shortly after the New Year. So expect a January release for his next single

He also said new single January-ish and new album April-ish. Which in Dierks speak just means 2018, lol

I thought they said originally maybe end of 2018 but that was before the WTHDIS fiasco. Will he really do two albums in one year?

I don't know. I think with "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" still climbing the chart and at such a good clip, I feel like that is serving as Kenny Chesney's current single as a bridge between Cosmic Hallelujah and his next album. I think Taste of Country very loosely uses the term single and I don't feel like that website is 100% credible for what's a single at country radio.

These look to be the artists who will have singles impacting in Q1 in 2018. Year End Country Aircheck. In no particular order here we go.
Luke Combs, Sugarland, Walker McGuire, Josh Gracin, Jillian Jacqueline, Kid Rock, Possibly Abby Anderson, Luke Bryan, Jacob Davis, Dierks Bentley, Dan + Shay, Sam Hunt, Probably Eric Paslay, LANco, LoCash, Jason Aldean, Maren Morris, Possibly Gary Allan, Possibly Kassi Ashton, Probably Carrie Underwood, Russell Dickerson, Blake Shelton, Brett Young, Craig Campbell, Possibly Love and Theft, Possibly Ruthie Collins, Possibly Rodney Atkins, Probably Travis Denning, Garth Brooks, Chris Young, Old Dominion, Possibly Randy Houser, and Jimmy Allen.
That's a total of as high as 33 acts (obviously not all will go to radio more than likely, but that's still a lot). I don't expect all of these artists to have a single at country radio but the majority will without a doubt. Q1 promises to be deadly for a lot of songs if you ask me.
Another important thing I saw in the country Aircheck was the big two page Big Machine promo. It had all the artists who at least a few weeks ago all had singles on country radio (Danielle Bradbery, Midland, Reba McEntire, Taylor Swift, Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore, Brett Young, Carly Pearce, Delta Rae, Thomas Rhett, and Florida Georgia Line). I bring this up as there was 4 artists they did show that don't as of this moment have a single on country radio. That's Josh Phillips, Ryan Folesee, Drake White, and Lauren Jenkins. I think for at least 1 to 2 of these acts they'll have a new single sooner than later and for 2 of these acts (Josh Phillips and Lauren Jenkins) it would be their debut single.
That's all I got from the Year end issue. Definitely love reading it that's for sure.
