Speaking of Jake Owen, he posted this to Twitter on February 5. Bobby Bones was just talking about Jake's new music a few days ago. It happens about 34 minutes into the January 31st show. I think it's pretty much a given that he's going back to his Barefoot Blue Jean Night sound. Jake's growing back his long hair, and in the audio clip Bobby says that people will listen to Jake's new stuff and be like, "Ohhhh! That's right." I'm excited. |

2018 has already seen Montgomery Gentry go back to their roots. Now Jake Owen and Randy Houser are growing their hair back out and returning to their roots too. 2009 vibes.

Kacey Musgraves posted a video clip on Instagram of her starting her tour with the caption “On the road again... 🦋” (she has also been using that emoji randomly for weeks) and she also performed the song “Butterflies” last night and had butterfly-shaped confetti somewhere according to her Instagram story.
I’m about 90% sure “Butterflies” will be her single at this point. Whether it goes to radio or not is a different story, but I think we’ll be getting a digital release of that within the next couple weeks.

I'd like to believe that Danielle Bradbery will release "Worth It" as the second single from her new album as the song got 3 adds tonight on Mediabase. Doubt it's successful at all, but it'll probably be a single here real shortly.

Title has been released now to social media. Cole's next single, the first of the third album is titled "Break Up In the End". Writers are Jon Nite, Jessi Jo Dillon, and Chase McGill.

Candi Carpenter has a new single out: It seems to me that Candi is probably no longer affiliated with Sony Nashville. Sony released "Burn The Bed" which is still on the CandiCarpenterVEVO account, but now she has a new account on YouTube that's just CandiCarpenter and it has just a few videos from the last year or so, but not "Burn The Bed" (probably because Sony has the rights to that song). There's no label listed for this new release from Candi, so I'm guessing she's an independent artist at this time. |

Candi Carpenter has a new single out: Dang, this is really good! She definitely has the voice to be a star. I would love to see her get a shot at the mainstream. I could definitely see people finding this song annoying, but she uses her voice in so many cool ways that most modern female country vocalists either can't do or are not creative enough to do. Like the falsetto at the end that just keeps getting higher and higher  Incredible! This song gives me vibes from LeAnn Rimes' Patsy Cline phase, except better because this is original music! |

This song is cool, but I'm not sure I want to play it on repeat. I do want to hear more from her though. Still frustrated/confused as to how burn the bed was treated.

I'll definitely be on the lookout if she releases another song however. I wanna like the Candi Carpenter song, but eh overall. I will say if she was dropped by Sony, that's a shame as I figured they were gonna put her on a label and radio tour. But then again there are some artists who sign to major labels who don't even really take off or even get a clear cut debut single (Levi Hummon with Big Machine, Haley Georgia with UMG) so this isn't a one time thing a label might do. |

Probably a good choice by Kacey to go with two songs closest to her previous material. I love them! But I don't think people will be prepared for the new directions she goes on the other songs. That album can't come soon enough.
