It seems to me that Candi is probably no longer affiliated with Sony Nashville. Sony released "Burn The Bed" which is still on the CandiCarpenterVEVO account, but now she has a new account on YouTube that's just CandiCarpenter and it has just a few videos from the last year or so, but not "Burn The Bed" (probably because Sony has the rights to that song). There's no label listed for this new release from Candi, so I'm guessing she's an independent artist at this time. Not sure if this a good source or not, but I don't think she has been dropped by Sony: bsidesbadlands.com/candi-carpenter-cry-baby-review/Allegedly, and according to us, Carpenter is putting the finishes touches on her debut album, tentatively expected this year. “Because of my background in traditional country music, storytelling and details are really important to me. I’m trying to mix contemporary music with the traditional sound I grew up with to create something different. I’m just really glad Doug [Morris, executive of Sony Music] is behind that. It’s going to be a very different sounding record,” she said. Good catch, but I'm not sure that it means she's with Sony Nashville. Doug Morris is the "big guy" at Sony Music but he's not with Sony's Nashville division. So I wonder if maybe Candi is signed with Sony but not their Nashville division? Sort of how like Sturgill Simpson is signed with Atlantic (part of the Warner Music Group) but isn't signed to Warner's Nashville division. Or it's possible that Candi has a joint contract with Sony New York and Sony Nashville. That's not super common for new artists but it can happen from time to time. Garth (before he went completely independent) was involved with both Sony NY and Sony Nashville, and so are Tim and Faith. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things play out with Candi. |

KHCM - Honolulu has added "Soldier" by Shania Twain. I know it's common for stations to add album tracks, but considering she is about to head out on tour, this may be the first inclination of a new single. Mediabse"Soldier" is one of the best songs on Now, so I'd be more than okay with this. Would like to see it at least do better than "We Got Something They Don't" did, but who knows with the way this campaign has been so messy, particularly with respect to country radio. |

Ugh, not what I wanted. Its super catchy and I love it musically, but I wanted something a little better lyrically. So You Go, Not Everything's About You, and Be With Me are my favorites.

"Queens Don't" is a great song! Really enjoyed it when she sang it in concert last month so I am excited to hear the studio. Will probably buy it when it is released

Ugh, such a disappointment of a song. I do feel like Craig Campbell is probably not going to get a hit regardless but thatbsong just sounds so dated and pandering. To go from "Outskirts Of Heaven" to this is real disappointing.
