Country radio especially amped up the Christmas music yesterday, so the big losses were expected.

SAIKI going #1 is looking alot more likely this week, as they now havea 33% lead over WFL. That they just gained recently. For the entire week they only had a 20% lead and sales tracking ends tonight plus the lead she still has in AirPlay. I think a 9th week for WFL is possible and LMFAO might take it the week after. Its gonna be really close. If WFL doesnt decrease too much in airplay it could maybe return to #1 if it doesnt lose too much in airplay next week.

No matter what, I'm 99.9% sure LMFAO will be #1 on January 5th because of the sales spike it's sure to get this week. It's definitely going to be the #1 song for the Christmas digital rush.

It's pretty eerie and cool how both Clarence Clemons (The Edge of Glory) and Etta James (Good Feeling) got to be all over the radio this year around the time of their deaths...well Etta isn't dead yet but she sadly will be soon.

What's the longest a song spent at #2, and longest at #2 before #1?

Its not over yet, but at least WFL hung in there long enough to be the longest running #1 of the year and Rihanna's career.

Yeah I know. But it would still be funny lol. What's the longest a song spent at #2, and longest at #2 before #1? Foreigner's "Waiting For A Girl Like You" and Missy Elliott's "Work It" both spent 10 weeks at #2 without ever hitting #1. Whitney Houston's "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" spent 11 weeks at #2 after spending a week at #1.

What's with all the old songs from earlier this year doing on the bottom half of the chart?
Also, I find it interesting that despite the drops most songs are having, Will.I.Am's track keeps increasing, and I'm shocked at Mariah's increase now that Christmas is over, unless this chart represents Christmas day.

Yes- it topped last year's Quick-Cut info by 1.877m. Too bad we don't get audience info for others, as others have pretty impressive totals, too (in the 50m-60m range, no doubt).

Interesting. Katy Perry Notches Record Seventh No. 'One' From 'Teenage Dream' On Dance/Club Play SongsKaty Perry's "Teenage Dream" becomes the first album to generate seven No. 1s on Billboard's Dance/Club Play Songs chart, as "The One That Got Away" jumps 3-1. Here is a recap of Perry's seven titles from the set to top the survey (to be updated, along with all charts, Thursday (Dec. 29) on Billboard.com): Title, Chart Date "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, Aug. 21, 2010 "Teenage Dream," Oct. 16, 2010 "Peacock," Dec. 4, 2010 "Firework," Jan. 22, 2011 "E.T.," April 23, 2011 "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," July 16, 2011 "The One That Got Away," Jan. 7, 2012 "Teenage Dream" passes two albums that each yielded six No. 1 singles since Dance/Club Play Songs launched as a national survey the week of Aug. 21, 1976. Beyonce's "I Am...Sasha Fierce" became the first such set when "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," "Diva," "Halo," "Sweet Dreams," "Why Don't You Love Me" and "Video Phone" reigned in 2009-10. Kristine W's "The Power of Music" followed with a six-pack of No. 1 singles in "The Boss," "Never," "Love Is the Look," "Be Alright," the title cut and "Fade" in 2008-11. (The album also includes Tony Moran's 2007 No. 1 "Walk Away," on which Kristine W guests, as well as a re-release of her first leader, 1994's "Feel What You Want"). "The One" marks Perry's eighth Dance/Club Play Songs topper. "Waking Up in Vegas," from her previous album "One of the Boys," led the Aug. 22, 2009, chart. It's become quite common for most singles by big name female pop singers to top the club play chart in recent years. It's kind of bizarre when you look at a lot of singers like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, etc. and realize how much more frequently they topped the club play charts in more recent years than at their actual radio peaks.

I think it's also due to the fact that songs only stay #1 for a week... When's the last time, if ever, a song was #1 for more than one week?
