For some reason the published chart for tonight is already up on AllAccess, and ChartReporter is right. "A Bar Song" and "Espresso" both went recurrent for some reason, so the rules must have changed. "BBA," "BLVD," "Whatcha Want" and "Liberian Girl" were all pulled in.

So what, they push the morning update back two and a half hours... but they also bring the final update forward a few hours as well? I don't hate the latter, getting the final sooner.
RE: Espresso and A Bar Song, both had been in the top 10 for 20+ weeks so if there's been an additional rule implemented about going recurrent below top 5 I think that may have something to do with it. I would just like for whatever the new rule is, that Mediabase communicates it to us like how they did when they whipped up the rule that 'allowed' Levitating and Heat Waves to come back a couple years ago.
EDIT: Lol at getting Lawrence back like this, and the spin threshold for top 50 dropping back under 200!

"A Bar Song" and "Espresso" both went recurrent for some reason, so the rules must have changed. "BBA," "BLVD," "Whatcha Want" and "Liberian Girl" were all pulled in. They recently changed the rules on HAC where descending songs below #5 go recurrent 40 or more weeks on the chart. There must have been a rule change on CHR, too.

not sure i like them removing songs before they drop out of the top 10 . Espresso is still #1 in Audience and Bar Song #1 on the Hot 100 . You can expect both Espresso and A Bar Song to plummet out of the Top 10 on AT40 now. When songs go recurrent on there, they seem to drop those songs like rocks, even if they are techinically still in the Top 10.

I'm gonna hold off until we get official word before I jump to conclusions.
But if this rule is true, then the charts might be more interesting now
EDIT: Ok, so I think I got the gist of it now. Songs in the top ten that are unbulleted, outside the top 5, and have spent 20+ weeks on the charts go recurrent.
Still not sure if it's true or not, but if it is, at least we won't have another Beautiful Things or Calm Down situation on our hands

A sad day when recurrency for pop is below 5 😬

For some reason the published chart for tonight is already up on AllAccess, and ChartReporter is right. "A Bar Song" and "Espresso" both went recurrent for some reason, so the rules must have changed. "BBA," "BLVD," "Whatcha Want" and "Liberian Girl" were all pulled in. i looked at AllAccess and i didn't see the published update that you guys saw... am i .., WAIT they posted on the rolling page not the published So, does that mean that this is or isn't the official chart (I'm sorry, I just so confused right now) EDIT: Nevermind, it's official now

It’s now on the published side of charts now, so I think these are the new rules now 👍

Maybe it'll mean stations will have some cover to reduce spins of A Bar Song if it's in recurrent-land.

I am seeing within the next few months the spin threshold for the top 50 dropping back below 100 for a few weeks like last winter. I was thinking that before seeing them sending Espresso and a Bar Song to recurrency.

As much as I’ve hated the ridiculous longevity of songs lately, changing the recurrency rules is definitely not what I wanted. “Top 10” feels so sacred, and now it just… isn’t :/

Seems I picked a good week to take a break from the top-ten guessing game

Wait then why didn't Please Please Please leave the top 10? Is it not already 20+ weeks old?

Wait then why didn't Please Please Please leave the top 10? Is it not already 20+ weeks old? Yep, it's over 20 weeks old. Hot AC has a rule that in addition to songs being below #10 and 20 weeks old, songs can also be eligible for recurrency if they are 40 weeks old and below #5. It rarely happens, but "Lose Control" went recurrent over there earlier this year when it fell below #5, because it had been on the chart for 40 weeks. I'm imagining the new rule here might be something similar (maybe they can go recurrent below #5 if they're 25+ weeks old, in addition to the 20 weeks and below #10 rule still being a thing).

Wait then why didn't Please Please Please leave the top 10? Is it not already 20+ weeks old? I think I cracked the code. So now, besides the normal recurrency rule, there's one for inside the top 10. I think after a song spends 20+ weeks in the top 10, it could go recurrent if it's outside the top 5 and unbulleted. (So, pretty much what RoseColoredGirl said) Under that logic, PPP didn't go recurrent because this is its 19th week in the top 10.

GWEN STEFANI "Somebody Else's" will probably make the top 50 sometime this week; It's already top 50 on the all station list.

Kiss FM Los Angeles is basically the only station giving it good spins. A few stations probably gave it a couple of spins Friday and Saturday because of the album release.

Spin threshold is getting fairly low especially the way "Liberian Girl" is dropping. "Somebody Else's" is possibly the only song above 100 spins not yet in the top 50.

Yeah, that's definitely possible. If a song drops out of the top 5 from #1 and has been in the top 10 for over 20 weeks (if that's, indeed, the new rule), it'll fall straight to recurrency.
