When are CMA noms announced? Probably within a month, right? I am mostly wondering if "BA" will have been out long enough to get enough attention to get noms.

Capitol/EMI's Now 43 will debut at #1 next week, the first time a Now compilation has debuted on top since Now 37 hit the summit in February, 2011, with 151k. For now, it appears that all four major distributors will be represented in the Top 5. Of course, there will likely be a surprise or two, thanks to Amazon MP3's 99-cent Daily Deals. In the meantime, here's how it looks headed into the weekend:
*Now 43 (Capitol/EMI) 110-120k Rick Ross (Def Jam/IDJ) 60-65k Zac Brown Band (Atlantic) 30-35k Justin Bieber (Island/IDJ) 30-35k One Direction (Syco/Columbia) 27-30k *Elle Varner (RCA) 27-30k Adele (XL/Columbia) 27-30k Kidz Bop Kids (Razor & Tie) 24-27k *Colt Ford (Average Joe's) 21-24k Maroon 5 (A&M/Octone) 20-23k Nas (Def Jam/IDJ) 17-20k Luke Bryan (Capitol Nashville/EMI) 15-18k fun. (Fueled By Ramen) 15-18k Carrie Underwood (19/AristaNashville) 15-18k Kenny Chesney (Blue Chair/ColumbiaNashville) 15-18k Of Monsters & Men (Republic) 14-17k Frank Ocean (Def Jam/IDJ) 14-17k

Happy to see she's stabilizing! "Blown Away" the single is really doing its job. With the promotion lined up these next few weeks and the single rising, 750k doesn't seem too far away!

What does that stand for, and what is Carrie's role in it all?

Thank you ^
The link to find which networks will be airing it didn't work. Will this be aired on a major network, or smaller ones throughout the country?

^Have fun. And we expect a detailed review. So Carrie is performing Blown Away on the Today Show Wednesday? Is it possible for it to go top 10 after that? I've no idea about how much of an effect it may have. But I love that she's going to be promoting in the US again.

I'd be floored if she didn't perform it on the show. It's her current single, so naturally she should (and probably will).
If I were to guess, I think the setlist for Wednesday will consist of Blown Away, Before He Cheats, Good Girl, and if she gets a fourth song, then hopefully a song from the album that's NOT Nobody Ever Told You or Cupid's Got A Shotgun.

^Yeah, fail. That wasn't a question, so I don't know why I put the question mark in there. In the article on her site it said she'll perform Blown Away, and some past hits I believe.
ETA: Carrie is performing at the Boots and Hearts Country Music Festival in Canada tonight. Can´t wait to see video´s of the show.

I saw this on Carriefans, but let's talk about how critically acclaimed Carrie's singles have been so far. In comparison:

I think we can talk about how Carrie's singles are critically acclaimed without throwing in other artists in there.

I think we can talk about how Carrie's singles are critically acclaimed without throwing in other artists in there. Eh.. It was just a comparison between the 3 biggest females of country radio latest singles. It happens on forums like this. And I was also posting it because Play On's singles weren't excactly the most critically acclaimed. Another great performance from last weekend; Two Black Cadillacs.

First of all, Country Universe gave Miranda a D+ for Over You. WTF. I agree with the other ratings.
I heard the newest single from Taylor and I wouldn't give her a D, but it's close. It's actually a step down for her on this one. jmo
Taste of Country has it about right, but for Taylor's 4 stars, more like 3 for this one. I don't know who made the decision to release this latest single, but I would have picked another one. But, Ms. Swift is not exactly in my music universe as an artist, so my opinion might be skewed as compared to her fans. But, compared to her other work, maily Mean, Teardrops in my guitar, White Horse, etc, this one is lacking.

Eh.. It was just a comparison between the 3 biggest females of country radio latest singles. It happens on forums like this. And I was also posting it because Play On's singles weren't excactly the most critically acclaimed. You know what else happens when someone brings up other artists for the sake of comparisons unflattering to one or more of them? Fan wars. Tiresome thread derailments by overinvested superfans who are interested not in a music discussion but in winning a meaningless battle about how their favorite is the bestest most legendarrific ever. I'm sure you would enjoy it if a Swift superfan came in here and posted any positive reviews of her current single and/or a list of reviews of previous singles that may have been better reviewed than Carrie's singles, right? Anyone posting here at Pulse should know better than to go down this road. It's the kind of thing that could qualify as trolling behavior depending on the context. You are off topic if you are discussing artists not named Carrie Underwood in this thread. If you really wanted to discuss the reception of Carrie's Blown Away singles compared to those of Play On then you would have posted the reviews of the Play On singles. That would have been on topic. But I suppose it wouldn't have served your sub-agenda of trying to assert your favorite's superiority over other females who market to the same genre. Speaking of which, it is sad to see the overinvested reinforce the fanwar dynamic by continuing to pit females against each other. I didn't see you citing reviews for the likes of Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, and Jason Aldean who are some of the biggest solo male artists in the country genre, or reviews for the likes of Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts, who are among the biggest groups who market to the country genre. In any event, if you wish to gloat about your favorite's reviews in comparison to those of other artists, find a fan site on which to do it. Pulse is not a fan site, nor is it an appropriate place for what you were doing. But wherever you are doing your gloating, realize that sore winner syndrome is an unappealing look to everyone except the petty, no matter who one's favorite may be. P.S. Taste Of Country reviews are in no way, shape or form an indicator of critical acclaim.
