OMG... TWO BLACK CADILLACS looks A-MAZING!!! But then again, so did Blown Away when we saw the preview and the video itself was lackluster (imo, obviously)... Looks so so so so so good, could be her best!! =) While I think the 'Good Girl' video was quite uneventful and am not surprised it received only 8.7 million Youtube views to date, I quite liked the 'Blown Away' video, but am shocked that it didn't take off publicly with only 7 million Youtube views to date. This number is even more disappointing when considering all of the buzz treatment it received, including a premiere on E! News. The video to 'Cadillacs' looks AMAZING- from the dark hues (gray/blue), creepy piano trailer music, and seeing Carrie play the part as a vengeful woman. Am I seeing it wrong: Is Carrie playing the "other woman" rather than the wife of the cheating husband ? :o For the first era ever, I am ecstatic that Carrie has joined the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, et al. as an artist who makes an event out of her music videos ! She is ultra deserving of accolades in the upcoming year for her effort.

I don't know where you're coming from w/ that whole 'disappointing' spiel considering those view counts you've listed above are pretty much in-line w/ any other big Country-only airplay hit.
Miranda Lambert - "Over You" 6,432,177 Eric Church - "Springsteen" 6,511,096 Luke Bryan - "Drunk On You" 8,078,122 Little Big Town - "Pontoon" 8,819,609
I could go on & on...

^^ I think there is a HUGE difference between Carrie's 'Blown Away' video and the ones you mentioned, lol. -Those artists do not have the non-country US or international fanbase that Carrie has -I do not believe that those videos had a national television music video premiere -I do not believe that those videos had the level of performances on non-country high-profile stages, such as Idol, BBMAs, etc -None of those artists had the dedicated international promotion that Carrie and 'Blown Away' had -Additionally, it seems obvious that more money and effort was placed into Carrie's 'Blown Away' music video (promo, trailer, YT advertisements) compared to the ones you mentioned.
Thus, for these reasons, I feel that Carrie's 'Blown Away' music video YT views and cross-over radio play are quite an under-performance. Because I feel so strongly that this is one of Carrie's best singles to date and also has more of a Coldplay-esque Hot AC feel, I predicted that this song would have sold 3-4 million copies in the US and it's big budget music video would have been easily over 30 million YT views by now. Clearly, I was very wrong....
As I stated previously, it seems that Carrie and her team are making an event out of these past two music videos with the trailers/release dates. As I fan, I find this tactic quite exciting and also rather brilliant from a marketing perspective. The last (and likely upcoming) video does what it should: support the song, provide a HQ visual to the lyrics, bring additional buzz and attention to Carrie's single and album, and show another dimension of her artistry. Objectively speaking, the music videos from this era are by far my favourite.

Neally, not surprisingly I can say that I don't agree with your comments about Carrie's most recent videos or your rebutal. Our opinions differ, as they should, since they are subjective and reflect our preferences.
I love Carrie's videos, I like that she tries to make something special of each video. As a fan, I appreciate her efforts. And I think they have paid off. On country charts her videos have made their home in the penthouse. On itunes, her videos have enjoyed longevity in the top 10 spending a major portion of that time at the very top. And her video viewership has been better than any other current female 'country' artist. In addition, her videos have consistently out-performed those of current country female artists. And she does all this by catering to one genre, not two. Carrie is a mainstream celebrity but a country artist...as opposed to being a pop artist* who dabbles in country music. I call it double-dipping, some artists do it and some don't. Carrie doesn't and she's still at the top and competitive with the double-dippers after almost 8 years.
*Taylor Swift as one example...I just have never seen her as a country artist.

Clearly, I was very wrong.... The only format it has been sent to besides country is Hot AC, where it is still rising. Your expectations were/are too high. I notice a "video" of the song that is just a picture of her album cover has over 5 million views.

There's been no promotion at the format, which surprised me. I thought since there appeared to be a new deal with RCA that they'd try to do more crossover promo, but I haven't seen anything. I understand and agree with Carrie's stance on remixing, but I do wish her team would be a little bit more active with crossover promotion when the potential is so clearly there.

Although I was underwhelmed by both the videos for "Good Girl" and "Blown Away," I can at least appreciate that Carrie tried to do something different. Looking back, I actually think it was a great move to not give GG the paint-by-the-numbers video treatment.
It was creative, colorful, fun and something different than her other videos.
While I expected more from "Blown Away," it certainly wasn't bad, and I liked all the Oz references. Both Carrie and the actor who played the actor did a great job in their respective roles.
Plus, both these videos are so far above what Carrie has done in the past, too. Although I like a few of her past videos (So Small, Jesus, Take The Wheel, Before He Cheats, Don't Forget To Remember Me), I feel like Carrie and her team have REALLY stepped it up when it comes to the look, feel, and creativity of her videos.
I LOVED the videos of the "Play On" era, and I feel they really showed fans what she and her team are capable of coming up with. Undo It, Mama's Song, and Temporary don't even compare with her work before them.
Even if I do consider the Blown Away video to be a bit of a miss, it was still quite good, and Carrie and her team have done a fantastic job with her past few videos.
If someone had told me Carrie would go from the green screen of All American Girl and cheesiness of Just A Dream for videos as beautifully executed as Mama's Song, Temporary Home, Undo It and Blown Away I would've hesitated to believe it.

I know it's still November and we've still got 1 month to go before the end of the year. But i just can't help but posting this. Carrie's achievements this year (so far) : 1. The only female country singer to score 2 singles at #1 Country Airplay . (Good Girl and Blown Away) 2. The only female country singer to spend 3 weeks at #1 Country Airplay (Good Girl - 1 week and Blown Away - 2 weeks) 3. Blown Away is the only single by female country singer to spend more than 1 week at #1 Country Airplay (2 weeks to be exact). 4. Blown Away (album) debuted at #1 Billboard 100 and remained at the top the next week. 5. Blown Away (album) debuted at #1 Country Album and remained at the top for 5 weeks and 2 additional weeks , which bring the total to 7 weeks. 6. Blown Away (album) has sold over 930k ; certified PLATINUM. Blown Away is the second best selling country album (#3 if you're counting Lionel Richie) 7. Blown Away (album) debuted at #1 Canadian Album Chart (Country and Overall) 8. Blown Away (album) debuted at #1 Australian ARIA Country Albums Chart (#4 on Overall Chart 9. Blown Away (album) debuted at #1 UK Country Artist Albums Chart (#11 on Overall Chart) 10. Good Girl - #1 Country Airplay and went Platinum (selling over 1.4 million so far and still rising) 11. Blown Away (single) - #1 Country Airplay and went Platinum (selling over 1.3 million so far and still rising) 12. Blown Away TOUR has grossed over 17,8 million dollar so far and Carrie still has more than 20 cities to go (and this not counting the second leg) 13. Blown Away TOUR has been attented by almost 300k people (97 out of 100 percent attendance). 14. Carrie won 2 CMT Awards (Video of The Year for '' Good Girl '' , and Collaborative Video of the Year for " Remind Me " 15. Carrie won 1 American Music Awards (for Country Album - Blown Away) ; Carrie is the only singer to have won the title for 4 times ; meaning ALL Carrie's album received the award. STILL TO COME : 1. 4 nominations at 2012 American Country Awards 2. Big chance that Blown Away (album) will pass Lionel Richie's Tuskegee sales at the end of the Year After 7 years, she's still slaying the chart. :'( :'( Correct me if there's a false information.(Some of the airplay info is credited to Cary from CarrieFans). :)

Other than GG and BA, Remind Me has sold 401k, Before He Cheats 241k, and Cowboy Casanova 188k in 2012.

I just got a chance to listen to Carrie sing at the CMA songwriters series.
Damn, can that woman sing. Her voice is so pure and powerful. She seemed like she was having so much fun, and was really relaxed. I would die if she released an acoustic album someday. Her voice was made for that environment.
