According to multiple sources on twitter, Carrie brought out the PS22 Chorus to sing So Small with her at her show in Newark tonight. Hopefully a video pops up. oh, wow! I hope so much that she does something different like this for her Orlando concert!! and def a video for the PS22 performance would be great, just wish it was at Orlando, since I'll be attending with my sister and she loves So Small!!

Well, it got kind of confusing in the middle there when Carrie and the choir were at different parts in the song, but it came together at the end. I sure miss having So Small in the set list. Carrie sounds incredible on it, especially the more acoustic versions like this one and the CMA Songwriters Series one.
Apparently she sang Flat on the Floor last night too. Wonder if she'll be changing up the set list a little like that regularly or if it was just a one-time thing.

What an amazing week, especially the 'Sound of Music' news. It just is soooo far away. Anyways, that video of 'So Small' from last night is super cute. I'm anxiously awaiting the video to 'Floor', in my top 3 Carrie uptempos ever, to surface.

The stage got stuck right after OWT, so she sang FOTF on the fly so I don't expect a setlist change unless she changes it up in the second half of the tour

Via CMT Insider Carrie will be performing and/or presenting at the CMT Artists of the Year event. The list of honorees is top secret, but they released a list of all the guests which includes; Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Eli Young Band, Hunter Hayes, Sammy Hagar, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Kenny Rogers, Thompson Square, Carrie Underwood, and Chris Young. It was also mentioned that more will be announced later. Although we do not know if Carrie is being honored, she will definitely be involved by performing and/or presenting.

I could see Hunter presenting Carrie with her Artist of the Year award. I just can't see her not being an honoree after the year she's had.

..or maybe Hunter Hayes will cover one of Carrie's single?
Like All-American Rejects who covered Taylor's Mean.

No one covered Carrie on the 1st CMT Artists of the Year, 2 years ago, while others covered the other honorees!! So, hard to tell!! And I hope that Hunter doesn't attempt to cover Carrie's songs... though I like him a lot, he just cannot do it!!

Wow. I really don't like her voice on that style of singing, but I think it will be so different that it won't bring too many comparisons to Julie Andrews. It's a big swing, but I see it working out well for her. Check this out, you just might change your mind. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPUvPT_TiPsI thought this was pretty good! I cannot wait to here her try this kind of music again. She's improved a lot in the last 4 years so I'm pumped. On a side note, a lot of people who commented on that Sound of Music performance were pretty brutal so hopefully she kills it the second time around

Regardless of if she kills it or not, there will be critics who'll seek out any negative aspects of anything, and they'll highlight those. I guess that's the case with all artists, but Carrie, to me, is victimized in this regard more than usual.

Hell, even Tony Bennett seemed to approve.

I've found mainstream critics are the rudest and most critical of anything she does. Not all to be sure. I think the artists from the 'country' genre are viewed by many mainstream critics as 'hee-haw', y'all' type who lack sophistication and refinement and box the artist in a very stereotyped role as seen and understood through their own limited perceptions and ignorance. Therefore to see a 'country' artist branch out into not just mainstream, but a project that includes songs that are viewd as 'classic' songs is quite simply preposterous. People such as these, are not likely to change their view, even after they have been proven wrong because to do so, would take too much emotional energy and reshuffling of their psyche. My solution is, ignore them.

A lot of mainstream music critics are what I call music snobs. They think they are too sophisticated for country music. I have seen it over and over. They rarely if ever give a country singer the credit they deserve. They consider someone like Carrie who branches out to other genres a usurper of "good" music. They think she should stay in Nashville where she belongs.

I think her American Idol beginnings also give some a predisposition to see her as a shiny TV show winner. So she has the biggest part in The Sound of Music? I bet Gwen Stefani is mad somewhere lol, jokes aside I think she'll do great.

Critics are critics. They can prejudge all they want, but the real judgments that'll matter will come in December 2013, after the special airs.
Anyways, thrilled to see Carrie go back to the UK again! The promo and the touring for this era has been incredible. In the past two weeks alone, we've gotten the TBC trailer, Ireland and UK dates, more Canada dates, word on TSOM, an AMA performance/win, and word on her attendance for the CMT Artists of the Year special.
Also, she has December 5 off. Could she be attending the ACAs?

At Carrie's show in Albany, NY last night, she dedicated "Temporary Home" to 4 teenagers who were hit by a drunk driver. 2 of them passed away. She's a great person.
