Oh yeah. I forgot nothing, nowhere's debut full length album titled "Trauma Factory."
I wasn't sure what artists to compare him to, but he's Emo Rap/Alternative I guess?
Not my thing, but some of you may be interested.

Frontiers Records just released their new music preview compilation vid for march 2021 featuring a lot of great melodic hard rock. The obvious standout for me are Chez Kane's 80's Glam Metal sound .and Issa's Symphonic Metal. Also featured is a new progressive Metal band Turbulence.

I really like the Lake Street Dive album. They've kept their jazz underpinings while branching out into more styles of rock and soul. From this list, I should also check out Dead Poet Society and Tom Grennan. I also want to check out Valerie June's The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers, but I did not love the lead single. Her voice is kind of a raspy, acquired taste and it worked for me on her previous albums but not on "Call Me a Fool."

A couple of Kiss: The Lost Album compilations have resurfaced on Youtube from TONYZZ KISS UNIVERSE. Not quite sure how he has this material, but They are a set of unreleased demos , movie soundtrack songs ,or tracks not included on studio albums. They are both great. One sounds like early raw 70' Kiss, and one like 80's Glam Metal 'Crazy Nights" era. The best aspect for me is hearing a mean, lean Kiss machine in their glorious youth.
KISS THE LOST ALBUM 70'S
KISS : THE LOST ALBUM
The first track "Sword and Stone" is a favorite among Kiss fans. Paul Stanley gave rights to German Metal band Bonfire for the Shocker Soundtrack.

i'm trying to remember a song ... it's fairly recent & all i can give you guys is the music video description...it shows a car driving thru narrow streets in (London?) & eventually it follows after a person for awhile...the guy falls & injures himself & the driver gets out to help & then the guy fights him off & steals the car (end of video)
anyone know what i'm talking about?
i thought it might be "Narrator" by Squid, but that song has a different MV

I could be wrong, but he does get his ass kicked. It has an 80's feel so you might have dug it?. The music that it.

Wow. Big week for releases. I'm most interested in the Kaleo, DinoJr and Porter Robinson albums. I don't think I've listened to much Remember Sports, but based on the similar tos, I should check it out too.

I don't think I've listened to much Remember Sports, but based on the similar tos, I should check it out too. Their last album was pretty good. Beach Bunny would be the best comparison that I can make to them. They also have a female singer and a nice mixture of energetic power pop, indie rock, and pop punk.

weird question but does anyone know why exactly alternative and active radio are so over reliant on “classic” songs from the 80’s-00’s? i find it really weird considering every other format has been keeping up with the times. i assume it hasn’t always been like this

weird question but does anyone know why exactly alternative and active radio are so over reliant on “classic” songs from the 80’s-00’s? i find it really weird considering every other format has been keeping up with the times. i assume it hasn’t always been like this I'm not in the radio business, but I think it's due to an identity crisis and demographic crisis. I can't speak as much to active rock, but I grew up on an alt station in the 90s (WNNX in Atlanta) that really targeted new alt music, but as they entered the 2000s, they hit an identity crisis. A couple of comments from their former PD on his blog (from 2008!) shows how long this identity crisis has been impacting rock radio stations: As stated earlier in this rant, in the mid 90’s, upwards of 50% of the music 99X played was new based. This meant that every other song was new or no older than 3 months old. Recently 99X has been operating with a max of 19% new music. That means that you get 3 new songs an hour, and many of those were ill focused for the 99X music community. In the end, it seems that Cumulus was in fact programming 99X like an AC station with alternative rock hits, in the hopes of securing a 25 – 54 year old add buys. Focusing on 25-54 with a station that was built to accrue 18 -34 year old is like putting a bicycle on the track in a stock car race. Peddle as hard as you want… you lose the race… by miles.
Looking from a music stand point it seems like Cumulus couldn’t understand the fact that Bush, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and their ilk were the bands of yester year, and were not the building blocks for the current music generation. It felt like that they were trying to recreate the 90’s. The 90’s are gone. They couldn’t understand what bands like the Shins, Silversun Pickups, Band of Horses, Arcade Fire, The Bravery, Interpol, Spoon, Against Me, Rise Against, etc had to do with 99X. These are bands that sell out medium sized venues in Atlanta with little or no airplay; they have massive internet and magazine prominence. These are the same types of building blocks we used in 1992; these are today’s building blocks for this music generation.Fast forward another decade plus to today, and that trend is magnified by the demographics. Who listens to the newest alt and active rock? Most likely young people - that 18-34 demo mentioned above. Who listens to radio today? Primarily those 36 and older - and this demographic wants to hear music they grew up with (even if they're open to newer music). The 18-34 crowd is more likely to use streaming for their music discovery - especially those who listen to genres, like rock's various subgenres, that have traditionally taken pride in being for those "more into real music." Edit to add: It's long, but I highly recommend reading the whole blog post shared. Sean Demery passed a few years ago, but his behind-the-scenes look at what was a very successful 90s-era alt station is fascinating - from it's unorthodox beginning to it's inevitable corporatization.
