The way the weighting system works: each week extra points are given to the top 10 songs. #10- 10 points #9- 15 points #8- 20 points #7-25 points #6- 30 points #5- 35 points #4- 40 points #3- 45 points #2- 50 points #1- 110 points While a there are a lot of huge movers (most notably Call Me Maybe)only one song entered the Top 50, Wide Awake, at the expense of Work Out.

Katy went from such a dominating year to such a mediocre year on the year end chart... she's not even going to have one top 10.. She should have 3 top 30s though hopefully, which is still good for 6th, 7th and 8th singles. The formula seems good :) Personally I would give around 70 points for the second place song. Payphone would be more accurate.

The wieghted chart was used. Its not even close, Rihanna is running away with this. Lets put it this way, if Pound The Alarm jumped to #1 this week, and stayed at #1 for the rest of the chart year, it would not give Nicki Minaj enough points to get to where Rihanna is now. (Starships is lower than WHYB, so ignoring those two songs only helps Nicki) Adele may get artist of the year from Album sales, but I have no doubt that Rihanna will be Hot 100 artist of the year. EDIT: And as far as Katy Perry goes, being in the top 10 artists of the year ain't too shabby.

Weighted Top 50Light's big jump is due to an error I made on the last chart, this is its real position. In other news, Call Me Maybe passes We Found Love, Give Your Heart A Break enters the Top 50, and Flo Rida is about to kick his own song out of the top 10. Time is running out for those songs trying to bumrush the chart! Some Year end chart prospects - At least using my formula, Call Me Maybe has a serious challenge in passing We Are Young before the end of the chart year. It needs to gain almost 25 points a week on WAY to do so, it only gained 20 on it this week. Call Me Maybe fell very rapidly after leaving the #1 spot, which is the main reason for its troubles. - Calculations show that Lights will have little trouble getting into the year end top 10, its even on track to pass Set Fire To The Rain (it needs to average 69 points a week to do so). -Wide Awake v. Where Have You Been, Wide Awake has to stay an average of 6 spots ahead of WHYB to beat it before the chart year is over. It was 9 ahead this week. -I'm very wary of the predictions for WANEGBT, it exemplifies both of the biggest weaknesses this chart has had in the past. #1 debuts (even it didn't technically debut at #1, it should follow the same pattern) and songs that are charting high at the end of the year. The inverse point system underestimates both of those types of songs. Despite my corrections using the weighting formula, I would not be surprised if Taylor's song outperformed my prediction by a good amount. Hasn't Lights already passed 3 million? I know it was a bonus track or something before 2012, but did it really sell 600k? O.o

These sales figures are not total sales figures, but the cumulative totals of weeks when a song charted in the respective charts.
Lights sold 15-20k units for many many weeks and didn't enter Top-75, so around 700k of its sales are not counted.

WAY down 4 positions to #42... I wonder if it will end up going recurrent. Was this week 46? Means 6 more weeks for it to go recurrent... Hopefully it does within the next 3 weeks so CMM can be song #2.

Actually, right now CMM needs to gain 25 points on WAY a week to pass it, it gained 27 this week. If WAY goes reccurent anytime in the next 6 weeks, CMM will pass it. If it doesn't, it will be very close between the two.

Yeah, I'm hoping it goes recurrent to seal the deal for sure on here. Sooner the better for the real year-end chart... Hopefully between Bruno, Kelly, and Adele's new songs it will finally be knocked out.

But this chart is until the end of the year, right?
If so, Fun might actually get two top ten hits

Some Nights can't get more than 500 points for the last five weeks. So SN will have about 2800-2810 points. (#15-16)

Ah, I thought you were doing it Jan-Dec, no matter what BB does. It was the YTD in the title that made me think so.
You're doing a great job with this anyway.

DJ Earworm stopped following the top 25 last year and seemed to pick his own opinions of what was popular.

Highlights of the T50: We Are Young Call Me Maybe Party Rock Anthem Some Nights
Not that exciting of a year, I guess...

It's not the full truth. He excluded some songs that already appeared in the last remix (Just The Way You Are) and put in some late-peaking (WFL, SAIKI). I expect the 2012 one to exclude: WFL, SAIKI, PRA, MLJ, SLY.
So there has to be: Somebody That I Used To Know, We Are Young, Call Me Maybe, What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger), Glad You Came, Set Fire To The Rain, Payphone, Starships, Lights, What Makes You Beautiful, Wild Ones, Good Feeling, The Motto, Drive By, Take Care, I Won't Give Up, Some Nights, Wide Awake, Where Have You Been, It Will Rain, Young, Wild & Free - That's 21.
So I see Whistle, Titanium, One More Night, Everybody Talks AND Mercy or Turn Me On doing it. But it can also be Too Close.

2011 + 2012I haven't finished 2010 yet, but when I do, we'll have a true decade to date chart. + marks are songs that have spent time charting in 2010 (the chart year, not calendar year). Edit: Oops. I left out a buch of 2011 songs somehow. I'm still not sure how it happened, so I'm going to go over everything I did again. Anyway, this is now absolutely correct.
