Wow. Whitney has 3 albums in the Top 10. Yea, her albums were re-stocked sometime early last week. So there was a lot more physical stock of her album this week :) Oh, I know that! A little surprised that her debut is in the Top 10. I expected the other 2. I'm just surprised Whitney is not charting higher. It has some big hits on it.

-- 3 FUN. FUELED BY RAMEN 69,195 -- SOME NIGHTS
This took a week to do what their previous album did in two and a half years.

Whitney was taken off of iTunes last week (after its brief run there), so that may have impacted, sales to some edgree too. It has three uptempo hits in their original versions, rather than the "Throw-Down" mixes on TGH,
Of note is that the debut album houses not only the original version of "How Will I Know," but one single not found on The Greatest Hits at all- "Hold Me."

34 38 LANA DEL REY INTERSCOPE 12,200 -32% BORN TO DIE Ah, so the EP listing from last week's chart is being treated as a typo now. Makes more sense..

Also the debut album was re-packaged not too long ago as a 'deluxe 25 year anniversary edition'... so that may have been another selling point for it. Of course we don't know its exact sales pre-Soundscan but I wonder what the chances are of it being re-certified with this new resurgence in sales. I Look To You flew past the 1 million mark this week.

Usually I hate to see one person/act dominating the charts (BEP, KP, Gaga), but Adele is the exception to that rule. I hope she continues to top the chart for months to come. Diamond is close in sight!

47 26 LEONARD COHEN COLUMBIA 15,485 +22% OLD IDEAS Echo this! He surely is smashing! The best selling album of his career at the age of 77. And without any help of other stars (compared to Tony Bennett)

anyone know anything about where .fun came from? or are they just benefitting from their song being in a commercial?

Its lead single, "We Are Young," is faring well on multiple formats (or is experiencing increased airplay), and it blew up after being covered on Glee's sectionals episode. After being featured in the Chevy Sonic commercial during the Super Bowl, it's been near the top of the iTunes chart since and has been growing on pop radio (the adds date was this week, I believe).

I went to Target on Saturday and they had a lot of copies of "Whitney", "The Bodyguard", WHGH, and "I Look To You". I'm guessing Best Buy, Wal Mart, and FYE will have more variety. :)

"Whitney" is back on iTunes. So odd, that it wasn't there originally, came back and then disappeared for a few days. It's never left amazon.com/mp3. Because WH has such a limited catalog, which is one of the biggest crimes - that's another discussion, I doubt we will get a new Greatest Hits that does away with Throwdown.

Their first album sold only 70,000, but their fanbase is extremely loyal. All three members were also part of other bands with solid fanbases, which is bringing in more interest.

Weak sauce for Tyga. I have a feeling this album will continue selling though.

^Do you know the physical copies had to pulled from retailers due to a clearance issue?
The 2nd version of the album finally went to retailers over the weekend.

Yea I'm aware, but I have a feeling it will pull a Young Jeezy and stick around in the Top 20 regardless of that mistake. YM is still the hottest thing out there in rap.
