LOL true. I am so giddy about music this year. I already have multiple great songs hitting #1 and at least two new cds that I genuinely LOVE (for the record, I usually only get 1-2 cds a YEAR that I would say I love so two by March is pretty amazing).
Maybe this is a sign of things to come this year for music

I don't think Katy, nicki, or adele will stand for that. Each seem like they have a shot to claim the top with their new songs. Nicki during album release week, adele because she slayed souls effortlessly and left once her video comes out and her audiences increase she can reclaim the spot well within 10 wks.

I don't even Love the song but just the fact it has sold so well the last few weeks.
I think it deserves num.1. It's not like it's someones fanbase that boosted the song to num.1 for a week. Isn't this already at 800,000 with not too much hype and initial airplay.

"We Are Young" by fun. featuring Janelle Monae jumps to #1 in its 11th week on the Hot 100. The song received two tremendous boosts from high-profile TV shows. It was featured on Glee on Dec. 6 and was used in a TV commercial on the Super Bowl on Feb. 5.

A version of the song by the Glee Cast debuted and peaked at #12 on the Hot 100 in December, the same week that the fun. version debuted at #53. The fun. version dropped off the Hot 100 after two appearances, but it re-entered the chart in January. The subsequent Super Bowl usage (in an ad for Chevrolet's Sonic) really kicked the song into high gear. The song has sold 1,133,000 million copies in the four full sales weeks since the Super Bowl, which is 77% of its total to date of 1,480,000.

Glee has revived more than 50 Hot 100 #1 hits since the series' debut in 2009. "We Are Young" is the first #1 hit that it played a key role in breaking. (The Glee version has sold 360,000 digital copies.)

"We Are Young" has been #1 on Hot Digital Songs for three of the past four weeks. The retro-sounding single is the first song to top the digital sales chart for three weeks in 2012.

This isn't the first time that Bruce Springsteen has been the subject of a Hot 100 hit. TV heartthrob turned pop star Rick Springfield hit #27 in January 1985 with "Bruce."

"Faded" by Tyga featuring Lil Wayne leaps from #100 to #82 in its seventh week…Montgomery Gentry's "Where I Come From" jumps from #98 to #83 in its ninth week…"Ayy Ladies" by Travis Porter featuring Tyga debuts at #88. It's the third Hot 100 single for the hip-hop trio…Melanie Fiona's "4 AM" re-enters the chart at #90 (its highest ranking to date). The song is from Fiona's upcoming sophomore album, The MF Life, which is due March 20. (Great title.)

Three Monkees hits (all of which reached #1 on the Hot 100) enter the Hot Digital Songs chart in the week following the death of the group's front man Davy Jones. "Daydream Believer" sold 39K copies this week (bringing its total to 406K). "I'm A Believer" sold 24K copies (bringing its total to 364K). "Last Train To Clarksville" sold 15K (bringing its total to 209K). Two more Monkees songs are bubbling under the chart. "(Theme From) The Monkees," one of the best TV theme songs of its time, sold 10K. "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone" (the B side of "I'm A Believer") sold 7K. Fun songs, all.

"Umbrella" by Rihanna featuring Jay-Z tops the 4 million mark in digital sales this week. The song topped the Hot 100 for seven consecutive weeks in June and July 2007. This Rihanna's fourth 4 million-seller, following "Disturbia" and a pair of "rap/sung" collabos on which she was featured: Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie" and T.I.'s "Live Your Life." It's Jay-Z's second 4-million-seller, following "Empire State Of Mind," his 2009 collabo with Alicia Keys.

Adele's "Set Fire To The Rain" tops the 3 million mark in digital sales this week. It's her third song to reach this plateau…Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years" tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week, one week after "Jar Of Hearts" topped the 3 million mark.

"Clocks" has sold more than 2,307,000 copies (November 2011 total). The Hot Digital tracks is very misleading as it doesn't combine all versions of a track.

"Clocks" has sold over 2.3 million digital downloads in the US.

Always remember those are tracks sales. That version of "Clocks" has sold only 400k, but that isn't the only version.

If I pay 10 bucks for an album and I don't like 5 of the songs, why would I delete them?

Itunes has a preview button and gives you the option to cherry-pick for this reason
