OK, here's one. This one is a little different:
Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories in 1996 Rod Stewart in 1971 Tyler Collins in 1990
What's the common thread there?

Additional hint: .38 Special in 1989 would also work as #3
Another thing: In a few more hours, this trivia question won't be as relevent.

All songs are related to May, 2nd, or Wednesday.

That's correct - Waiting For Wednesday, Maggie May, and Second Chance - Wednesday, May 2nd which, of course, is today.

Does it have anything to do with how these songs have many different mixes? (I'm guessing not, because just about every song from that era had different mixes).

OK, here's one that may be a little tough:
Knock Three Times - Tony Orlando & Dawn Rock On - David Essex Blow Away - George Harrison
(no, the answer is not that they all hit the chart in the 1970s) ;)

OK, an additional hint: The common thread is in the first words in the song titles.

Knocking on doors to sell extra copies? Rocking up at Wal-Mart to perform in the parking lot? Blowing executives at Billboard for chart manipulation?

^Nope. I was thinking more in terms of a slogan used in a few sales gimmicks (Except the last one isn't used quite as often as the first two).

Well, indeed they do - but that's not what I'm looking for.
Think of something that you wear two of at the same time.

Nope. It's a more common article of clothing than boxing gloves.

Additional hint: You should remove said article of clothing before doing Yoga (it should be so obvious now...)

Nope - in fact, due to the probability of slipping and sliding all over the place, you're better off keeping your shoes on. Now that it's so obvious, I might as well just say it - it's socks. You know, the saying "Our products will knock/rock/blow your socks off". It just randomly came into my mind (and no, my woo-hoo for feet had nothing to do with it). Now, here's another one. What do these two songs have in common: Dream On - Aerosmith Ebony Eyes - Bob Welch I tried and tried but could not find a third song that would fit the criteria.

Lol. I almost added "Or socks?" at the end, but chose not to. :'(

Dream On - Aerosmith Ebony Eyes - Bob Welch They both share their names with top 40 hits by artists whose names fit the format The _____ Brothers. (Righteous and Everly, respectively.)

Well, that is indeed true, but not quite what I'm looking for.
I'll post an easier hint, if need be, a little later on.

OK, another hint: Madonna's song "Oh Father" almost fit this criteria, but not quite.

Both have "today" in their lyrics? ("Oh Father" has yesterday.)

Both have "today" in their lyrics? ("Oh Father" has yesterday.) Actually, it has to do with the song title in relation to the lyrics.
