This isn't in the preferred, regular format, but if anyone wants something more comprehensive for now; (Numbers are last week position, this week position, weeks on chart and peak position.)

I attached my file with the charts from this month in that format if you want to do anything with it.

^AT40 has been deviating from Mediabase more frequently as of late.

The Slizzard-posted chart looks good, like it came from an official source or publication.
The pacing this week looks better than the last couple of weeks. Maybe someone at AT40 is reading this board or heard similar criticism, but there's not the same bunchup of extras in the middle (the last couple of weeks three out of four songs in a row weren't part of the chart, clustered right around #21.)
"Dance Again" seems a fitting title for a J. Lo/Pitbull reteaming, after last year's "On the Floor" which became her first top 10 since 2003. (It also gives PB four songs on this week's show, counting the Breakout extra). And "Boyfriend" is now Justin Bieber's highest charting AT40 entry after only three weeks, though it may not go much higher judging from the Mediabase rankings; it may well at least graze the top 10, though.
As noted above, it's weird that "The Motto" fell off after only one week at #40 when it's in the mid-20s on Mediabase. Part of the reason is probably the older recurrents still on AT40, but not all of it. Maybe it'll reenter? (If not, this is probably the first time in a while when we've had two AT40s in a row with songs falling off after only one week.)

Quite a few artists have multiple hits this week. Taylor Swift's song sounds a bit more "mature" than her previous ones. The boy bands are serving as bookends for the top 10. Hopefully PRA won't be on much more than 1 year. I'm surprised that Talk That Talk didn't do better - maybe too much Rihanna lately, though she's one of my faves. It's smart to have an extra after #6 since that's usually just a 2 song segment. Here's a precursor to International Love from 51 years ago! : www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0vFdCdNQP4

Ryan mentioned that Nicki Minaj was the 1st female rapper to score two #1 albums; One Direction was the first British group to debut at #1 on the American album chart with their 1st album; and The Wanted were the 1st British group to hit #1 since Chumbawamba 15 years ago (then played a drop of "Tubthumping").

Are you joking about the drop piece of Tubthumping because it's the exact thing Rick Dees did last week and he also said the same fact about 15 years ago. Then, played the number 1 song. :o Seacrest also stole from Nick Cannon as he played Cupid's Chokehold last week. Cannon did a mini countdown of the Top 5 (on this date 5 years ago) and played the complete song by Gym Class Heroes. The One Direction fact, I also heard on another countdown. I can't remember which one or what date on the top of my head probably Hollywood Hamilton or Spyder Harrison. I will give to Seacrest credit for Nicki Minaj fact as no other countdown (to my knowledge) used it yet.

^ Because these shows are produced so far in advance, it's unlikely that anyone copied another countdown.

^ Because these shows are produced so far in advance, it's unlikely that anyone copied another countdown. Copying happens all the time. There are these things called "pool interviews", where a quote from an artist is available to use for production often times provided by the record company. If you listen to one show, the same interview will show up on another. The trick that a show will do is to add backing music or sound effects to make it sound different. Hollywood Hamilton uses "fake background noise" during a lot of his backstage interviews in an effort to make it sound like it's a really noisy background at a concert. In reality, most concert interviews are in a quiet setting in a separate interview room organized by record company handlers or artist management company. Radio uses a lot of "theater of the mind". Also, host will use a "ghetto interview" approach. Where the host doesn't do the actually interview and just makes up a question to fit the provided sound bite. Damien with MTV Weekend Countdown is the biggest abuser of these ghetto interviews. If Rick & Ryan are on the same production schedule, this is not out of the possibility that someone heard Rick's show on Ryan's staff. Also, keep in mind that Nick Vestudo who works with AT40 use to be on Rick's production team for a long time. Why wouldn't Nick listen to Rick's show as they worked together for a long time. If AT40 was running short on production time, why wouldn't they just use Rick's idea about playing "Tubthumping" sample and mentioning 15 year gap between British groups. Of course, they would never admit that they did. But, we have the tape.

You are spot on with this...Rick Dees does alot of Ghetto Interviews. That's his style.
