I'm having serious issues with posting an avatar. I've been trying for a couple days now. I found one, resized it to 95 x 93 and went into my profile to plug it into the Image URL box. Nothing works. Is my post count to low to have an avatar or something? I couldn't find anything about that in the FAQ.
Thanks!

There aren't any post count-based avatar regulations that I know of. In the 'Modify Profile' section when you've tried to add your avatar in, you need to have selected 'None' in the drop-down box next to 'Avatar'. If you haven't been putting in a width and height, maybe try that (which would be 95 and 93 in your case). If not, it could be that the image you're trying to use isn't of a format that Pulse accepts. What's the URL for the avatar you're trying with?

Ah. Pulse's system wouldn't understand a link like that. You need a direct link; a link which would typically end in .jpg, .png, .gif or such. I'm not really sure how to work flickr, so I can't really help you find the direct link on there, but you could try a site like imgur, Tinypic, Photobucket or Imageshack. I uploaded it to imgur for you if you're okay with that; this is the direct link to put in the 'Avatar URL' field: i.imgur.com/5oImX.jpg

I am wondering if anyone can help me out...I'd like to turn the gif image below into an avatar, but the problem with this picture is that there is a large area of light gray space outside the actual animation. i54.tinypic.com/9scegp.gifIs there a way to get rid of that light gray area and keep the animation part?

^ Sure, I can (try to) crop it for you; ![](http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/2645/9scegp1.gif) Is that what you were after? Would you like it cropped further to be more square or anything? :)

^Oh wow, thank you sooo much Slizzard!! If you could make it a little more "square-ish" that would be awesome but I think this will work. You're the best!! ![:-*](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/kiss.png)

![](http://i46.tinypic.com/5q2q.gif) That's 160 x 160. I think it fits well. What do you think? :)

^I like it!! Thanks a lot. It's actually for a friend of mine on another forum, she's a huge Keith Urban fan like me.
You're the best, Slizzard!! :)

Is anyone else having it where avatars that are animated gifs are just frozen and don't work?

Is anyone else having it where avatars that are animated gifs are just frozen and don't work? Yes, I had that happen recently on other sites too. It would randomly work some of the time and then not other times. It seems to only happen to me in Chrome.

Is anyone else having it where avatars that are animated gifs are just frozen and don't work? I've been dealing with that in Chrome for months. It can be solved by opening the troublesome image in a new tab, but it's still so annoying.

I find highlighting the image will fix it as well.

Yeah, all gifs seem to freeze on Chrome for some reason, and I can't figure out why.
