That seems a little too close to automatically call it on Adele's side...

Adele should land her 24th non-consecutive week at #1, though she will be moved by weight or force in a certain direction or into a certain position by Country star Alan Jackson’s Capitol Nashville debut Oh, the joys of Pulse's word filter. He pressed the button. So silly... ...and OT.

It'd be nice to see Alan Jackson snag a week at #1. His album is great. At least he will be #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart.

Does Alan have any notable promo this week? I wouldn't underestimate him in SS.

*Brandi Carlile (Columbia) 27-30k Her first top ten album, and her best sales week ever :'(
John Mayer (Columbia) 40-45k That's a pretty impressive third week, considering his unfortunate promo situation.
One Direction (Syco/Columbia) 40-45k And I don't care who you are, that's a DAMN impressive thirteenth week.

www.billboard.com/column/chartbeat#/news/the-beach-boys-set-for-highest-charting-1007279152.storyThe Beach Boys Set For Highest Charting Album in 37 Yearsby Keith Caulfield, L.A. | June 08, 2012 The Beach Boys are aiming for their highest charting album on the Billboard 200 in 37 years as "That's Why God Made the Radio" could debut in the top three next week. The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, June 13. Industry sources project that the Beach Boys' album may sell around 60,000 to 65,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, June 10. That figure will also include nearly 20,000 copies that were pre-ordered during the band's concert appearance on the QVC shopping network on May 16. The last time the Beach Boys were this high on the Billboard 200 was in October of 1974, when the greatest hits package "Endless Summer" spent one week at No. 1. "That's Why God Made the Radio" is the band's 29th studio album and was released as part of the group's 50th anniversary celebration. As for the rest of next week's top 10, a very familiar face could be back at No. 1. Adele's "21" album may return to the top slot -- for a 24th nonconsecutive week. The set, which has yet to leave the top 10 after more than a year, may move around 70,000 to 73,000 copies. Country superstar Alan Jackson will like arrive in the runner-up slot with his new "Thirty Miles West" album with maybe 67,000 to 70,000. However, there's a chance Jackson could overtake Adele for the No. 1 slot over the weekend. If he does, it will mark his fifth No. 1 set. He last crowned the tally in 2008 with "Good Time." Also heading for top 10 bows next week are Big K.R.I.T.'s "Live From the Underground" and Curren$y's "Stoned Immaculate." Both titles are on course for a start around 40,000 to 45,000. Neil Young & Crazy Horse's "Americana" will also likely arrive in the top 10. The collection of folk standards could be Young's first top 10 album since 2007's "Live at Massey Hall 1971" debuted and peaked at No. 6. Since then, he's charted seven more albums. The last likely top 10 entry next week may be Brandi Carlile's "Bear Creek," with about 25,000 to 30,000. The singer's last full-length studio set, 2009's "Give Up the Ghost," debuted and peaked at No. 26. It launched with 25,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan. On Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart (below), Jackson is No. 1 while Adele's "21" is at No. 2. The Building tally is a precursor to the final Billboard 200 ranking -- reflecting the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week as reported by six major merchants. Big K.R.I.T is No. 3, Curren$y is No. 4 and John Mayer's "Born and Raised" is No. 5. The Beach Boys are at No. 6, but that ranking is deceiving. While the Building chart includes a fair amount of sales from retailers, it does not include QVC. Once those sales are factored in, the band will be much higher on the final Billboard 200 next Wednesday. One Direction's "Up All Night" is No. 7, Carlile is No. 8, Carrie Underwood is at No. 9 and Luke Bryan's "Tailgates & Tanlines" closes out the tally at No. 10. Nielsen SoundScan Building ChartRank LW BB 200 Artist Title 1 NEW Alan Jackson "Thirty Miles West" 2 2 Adele "21" 3 NEW Big K.R.I.T. "Live From the Underground" 4 NEW Curren$y "Stoned Immaculate" 5 1 John Mayer "Born and Raised" 6 NEW The Beach Boys "That's Why God Made the Radio" 7 4 One Direction "Up All Night" 8 NEW Brandi Carlile "Bear Creek" 9 6 Carrie Underwood "Blown Away" 10 9 Luke Bryan "Tailgates & Tanlines" The Building Chart reflects the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week (which ends Sunday) as reported by six major merchants: iTunes, Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Starbucks, Target and Anderson Merchandisers. Billboard estimates that they make up about 85% of all U.S. album sales.

Yeah, there aren't many more major releases besides Usher and Beiber this summer right?
Oh yeah, M5 too but not many after that?

I just saw the top selling 2012 releases list and it is depressing.
One Direction has the best selling album of all new material so far in 2012.
Let's hope some of the expected #1 albums above can quickly get into the Top 5 of the year.
Usher's last album sold 329k 2 years ago. What should we expect from this one? 275K?
Bieber? 400k+?

John Mayer has one weird chart trajectory. If this holds, it'd be 1-1-10. Is that the steepest drop for a multi-week #1? (outside of Christmas albums)

^This early chart is kind of useless. HITS had John Mayer at #5 with their Friday estimates so #10 is very doubtful.

The expected #1s for the next 8 weeks: July 31, 2012 Rick Ross - God Forgives, I Don’t Rick Ross will sure stand out on the list of artists with 4 number albums, won't he? He somehow doesn't seem well-known enough for this kind of success.

(outside of Christmas albums) You reference Michael Buble - Christmas who has the overall record for biggest drop from #1 after spending more than one week at the top, next up is Magic by Bruce Springsteen that fell from 1 to 12 in 2007 after a 2nd week at #1.
