Then you all fail. The video and that last interlude were brilliance.
One thing I can appreciate with Gaga is the thought process and care taken with her videos. Like them or not, they are so much butter than most of the shit thrown out there. Not all are perfect but one needs to appreciate the care and artistry involved.

The video was highly overrated & is easily forgettable.

I liked the "Marry The Night" video, but not that ending interlude alien thing.

I liked the end the best , then the actual video, then the prelude.

Oh the shade that could be thrown.
I did enjoy me some dark Gaga off of BTW. It would be nice if she found that happy medium with album #3. I don't want to see her regress back to The Fame. Once an artist is done with an era, a sound, apart of their life, they must move forward otherwise stagnation occurs.

I agree. I haven't really voiced much opinion on this new album based on what's been made available so far because I've been holding out until more comes up. It seems like GaGa has toned down quite a bit since she's begun making public appearances again. While I normally wouldn't be for that, I can't help but be pleased because many of the comments I see in regards to her fashion choices are positive lately. Though I do miss her absolutely insane outfits and that was part of what made her stand out so much to me, and obviously most other people. It sucks that people seem to either fear or hate that side of her though because it's so different. We have tons of pop stars, why should GaGa be just like them? Sure, you can say she was trying too hard but I'm sure she's been well aware of that when walking down the red carpet in a giant hat or an outfit made of muppets. I'd say the only thing she's guilty of trying too hard of doing is getting a reaction out of people, and it worked. I think for the first few years of her career, she created a social pop culture experiment in herself and carried it out by how she presented herself.
Anyway, I'm rambling. It seems to me that all indications for this new album are that it will be easier to digest, more fun and less serious. I think it's possible to do all that without her retreading her days from The Fame. I've seen several people reference The Fame Monster as a possible comparison and I think that's fair. That album had a lot of sides to it. I think GaGa can lighten up but still have a deeper message in her songs so I'm looking forward to that. The album title I am iffy on though. I think GaGa is at her best when she's taking something that people assume is meant to be serious but showing that she isn't taking herself as serious as people think she is. She has shown she can make fun of herself, make light of how she's presented and just goof off. I feel like, as of now, it's hard to blow off the title of "Artpop" as somehow not being an attempt at pretention or some sort of self-praise. I believe that what she does is definitely a level of art in the world of pop culture but to call it that just strikes me as being a bit of a sour move. My only hope is that it somehow gets turned around into something that's more tongue-in-cheek or somehow is made to sound fun, as if she's making fun of herself or making fun of how people perceive her. I think she can still take her work seriously, take pride in it but also acknowledge that not everyone is going to feel as deeply about her output as she does, and she should be okay with that.

I think the album title can work once we, a. get more meaning on WHY and then, b. listening to the album and understanding it's meaning and how it relates back to the title.
Believe me, if Pink's I'm Not Dead can not only make sense but grow on me, after hearing WHY and HOW it came about, then I think ARTPOP will do the same.

Who was her mentor, and what other friends have screwed her over? Madonna. By way of her "Express Yourself"/"Born This Way"/"She's Not Me" performance during the tour. That's the "incessant dragging." Wouldn't Gaga have given M permission to use that song in her tour? Something must have happened behind the scenes cause before they seemed very lovey dovey, appearing on SNL together but after BTW comes out, it seems like there was love lost.

You don't need permission to do a song live. If Madonna were to do a DVD concert on the other hand.

Exactly. I doubt that permission is needed every time an artist wants to cover a song on their tour. I thought the SNL skit were just actors. :o

V Magazine Gaga Memo No. 7
HOLD ON. BEFORE YOU READ, THIS YOU MUST BE AWARE THAT MANICURES ARE EXTREMELY UNDERRATED! YOU MAY ALREADY BE ROLLING YOUR EYES, BUT PLEASE LET ME GET A WORD IN ABOUT THIS! I find that any woman—no matter how stylishly she is dressed—is instantly above the rest if well-manicured. I know this may sound harsh, but perhaps if I beat it into you, you will CUT THOSE CUTICLES. TAKE the time for yourself, do it more frequently, just to stay in a nice self-compassionate habit. Grab a coffee and a magazine, this moment is just for you. Also, if you d on’t have the money, doing it at home by yourself is an excellent hobby (spring for fun nail products to make this more enjoyable), and tell your friends that manicure-related products make good gifts! If you are not pressed for cash, find and kidnap the best nail technician in your city and make her your best friend (when you’re trying to close that deal with Coca-Cola, your shiny talons will come in handy, I promise). SIX REASONS YOU SHOULD DO THIS: 1) HAVING A PERFECT MANICURE INSTANTLY MAKES YOU FEEL BEAUTIFUL AND CLEAN. 2) YOU’LL BE READY FOR SEX OR TO PUT A PENIS IN YOUR HAND. 3) IT’S A WAY FOR YOU TO EXPRESS YOURSELF (CAREFUL HOW YOU DO THAT). 4) IT FORCES YOU TO SEE THE IMPORTANCE OF MAKING TIME FOR YOURSELF. 5) IT BOOSTS YOUR SELF-ESTEEM EVERYDAY. 6) IT PROJECTS AN IMAGE OF SUCCESS, WHICH IS GOOD FOR BIZ. So, for my dear veteran salon goers, I’m including some more adventurous options and tips on how I like to do my nails. Thank you to my amazing manicurists, Aya, Emma, Marian, and Deborah, for always taking care of my prims. And to Freddie for gluing on my nails, Brandon for telling me when I need a manicure, and Tara for telling me I don’t. LADY GAGA P.S. Ladies in lights, in the magazines, and on red carpets—know that I am judging your cuticles…but that’s about it.

I don't know what I love more - the puppy, the Louis Vuitton bag, or the Megadeth shirt.

I think GaGa's days as a superstar are numbered. Like her predecessor Cyndi, she's a celebrated novelty act wearing thin. A lot has to be riding on this next LP.

I think GaGa's days as a superstar are numbered. I think the exact opposite.
