That sucks. Spending 20 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 & couldn't go higher than #5? Lol

I see your feelings are hurt by my post. No one hinted it was a flop. It just sucks she's been in the Top 10 for that long & couldn't get passed #5. I'd be pissed.

A #5 peak is nothing to be sad about, though. Keep in mind it was fighting with "Turn Me On" at the beginning of its run.
Did this surpass "Super Bass" chart wise, do we think?

Sarcasm isn't the easiest thing to catch online, but I suppose :) <3
No one is saying we should feel sorry for a #5 peak. Going no higher than #5 after having amazing longevity would tick me off a little, personally. Lol

Did this surpass "Super Bass" chart wise, do we think? I'd say so. "Super Bass" felt bigger because it was such a big moment for her at that point in her career, but objectively and chart-wise, I think this is the bigger hit.

A peak position isn't really illustrative of a song's success - it only reflects one week of the tracks run and depends heavily on competition. I've never understood why it's the main barometer of performance.

The AI for Payphone and CMM are just massive. Its honestly hard to say if WHYB will be able to surpass those before it peaks, or even WA for that matter.

It's funny how CMM has been #1 for so many weeks on the Hot 100 & Digital Sales but has yet to top the airplay chart and might even miss out at this point.

Yeah, it sucks. :'( Kinda like with Stronger. Hopefully she can weasel a week in there. :) She even topped On Demand/Streaming too. :( The AI for Payphone and CMM are just massive. Its honestly hard to say if WHYB will be able to surpass those before it peaks, or even WA for that matter. It really depends how long those two (CMM and PP) keep on gaining, even if they're small gains, and if Katy will stall at #3 or so on pop again, or go all the way. Same with Rihanna, although Rihanna seems more likely to go all the way, or get veryyyyy close anyways.

Right, but wasn't she falling at that point, just Adele was falling harder?

1. KELLY CLARKSON - Stronger (What Doesn't Kill ...: 161.704 (- 0.013) ▲ 2. ADELE - Set Fire To The Rain: 161.391 (- 3.154) ▼
The two or so previous days had been bigger losses. And then she lost about half a million the next couple days.
Kinda like how TOTGA snuck in a week on pop at #1.

There is a website where one can see the chart peaks in the individual Billboard component charts for radio airplay (pop songs, adult pop songs, rnb songs, rhythmic, etc) of pretty much any song...does anyone have the link?

Will be interesting to see when Katy and Rihanna start flopping. Even though it may be in 5-10 years.

Rihanna needs to get to about 180 AI before any chart gimmicks.

Even the biggest stars can have flops, though Katy seems pretty invincible right now I bet she has a flop single next era. (and this is coming from a Katy stan)

Rihanna has flops somewhat frequently, but she has no problem bouncing right back from them.
Katy I think will flop at least once next era as well. A mix between Born This Way and Teenage Dream eras. Unless she sticks to very current radio friendly music, then she probably won't flop, although I don't see her getting a bunch of #1s again.

Well, I guess I didn't mean one flop single here and there, I meant more when radio won't support them anymore.
