Pharell - Drop It's Like It's Hot: 182.895 1) The only way 2012 has been a "very, very good year for airplay" is because of the audience re-calibration earlier this year causing songs to bring in much higher figures since. "E.T." peaked at roughly 150 million last year, but I wouldn't say "Payphone", which peaked 40 million impressions higher, was any bigger at its peak. This year being a "very good year for airplay" implies that rotation trends may have improved or something; saying that because Mediabase decided to do a major re-calibration this year is wrong. 2) This is a list of the highest peaking songs on all-format audience impressions. It's not a list of the "best songs on airplay". You definitely mislabeled this. 3) Airplay has been tracked accurately since well before "Crazy In Love", which is the oldest song on the list. Just because songs weren't raking in figures of 180 million or more before 2003 - or just because there wasn't even an audience impression system - does not mean that airplay tracking was inaccurate. 4) The list looks fishy to me. Where are "Be Without You" and "Don't Forget About Us", for example? I'm pretty certain those songs should be top ten. Also, I have the feeling some of these figures may be Billboard mixed with Mediabase or something, because it just doesn't look right in general.

With BDS, WBT is the only track to top 200m (a few weeks of it); "Irreplaceable" has the next highest level, topping out at roughly 196m.
And keep in mind that all-formats numbers weren't reported until December 1998-on. A multi-format-smash track may not have topped 200m if all formats were combined before that- but no way to know for sure.

i wish there was a way to track streaming. And if there was, it would be cool if Kworb set something up similar to his iTunes updates page. I wonder if there will ever be a time... I don't think streaming is centralized enough for that, at least not yet. We can sort of track Spotify, but the overall streaming chart is much different than the Spotify, indicating that it is a fairly small section of the market, as opposed to Itunes where things mostly match up with the official numbers.

It's not like Mimi's removed focus on the single on her official website- it's still the first thing you see when you log on. :) Plus, the video's coming.

"Stronger" passes 200m but mediabase & bds were pressed so they lied about it.

Ellie is looking good for #1 on the hot 100 next week. She's extending her airplay lead on Flo rida, Carly is starting to fall faster and Ellie's streaming should remain strong. It'll be down to sales, but I think she just might do it.

It sucks Ellie has now fallen down to 13 on iTunes. I'm hoping her sales earlier this week keep her barely in the top 10 by the time next week's Hot 100 is calculated.... Otherwise her sales will have let her down :(
