Week of 01-27-2013Poor Bruno. More on that later. So I may be just a tad late for this, but I'm debuting "Cake Like Lady Gaga" At #1, no less. It's basically a real single so yeah. Her first song to chart (of many, I'm sure), her first #1 (again, of many, I'm sure), her first #1 debut (most likely she will have more). So yeah. She pushes down "Little Talks" and "Swimming Pools (Drank)" one spot each. "Kiss You" moves up another spot to another new peak of #4, pushing "C'Mon" down to #5. "Suit & Tie" drops 3 to #6. "Home" and "Girl On Fire" both enter the top 10 finally. It's a slow week in some ways. For example, the biggest gain goes to "Clarity" (now going under CNM! ), which moved only 5 spots. However, the biggest fall goes to Bruno's "Natalie," falling 13 spots. Continuing terrible news for Bruno as mentioned above, he had 2 songs drop off: "Moonshine" and "Young Girls." Also falling off are "High for This," "Little Things," and "Representin." The debuts are Gaga, "Thrift Shop" at #28, "When I Was Your Man" at #37, "Freedom" at #39, and "I Love It" at #40. "Call Me Maybe" logs a 3rd week at #38 lol. It might look excessive at this point to still be charting, but I still love it. Also I'm dropping mostly album tracks rather than real singles, so it's getting a little extra life from that. Without album tracks this whole time it would have charted much higher the past few months, so if you look at it that way it would be continuing its descent as more real singles move above it. But yeah, 3 of the 5 droppers were album tracks. There are only 6 more album tracks left, and no more are in the top 20. :) Oh and I have a new points and certification system. Gonna try it for a while and see how it works. More on that in a separate post soon. :) LW TW PP WOCne 01 01 001 âCake Like Lady Gagaâ Lady Gaga 1 week at #1 highest debut 4th #1 debut01 02 01 017 âLittle Talksâ Of Monsters and Men * 4x Platinum* 3 weeks at #102 03 02 006 âSwimming Pools (Drank)â Kendrick Lamar * Platinum* 05 04 04 009 âKiss Youâ One Direction * Platinum* 04 05 01 011 âCâMonâ Ke$ha * 3x Platinum* 1 week at #103 06 03 002 âSuit & Tieâ Justin Timberlake feat. Ok so I started a new points system. Gonna try it for a while and see how it goes. :) I got the idea from Slizzard, although I was familiar with it beforehand. I just never thought about using it for my chart. Basically: #40=1 #39=1+2=3 #38=1+2+3=6 #37=1+2+3+4=10 #36=1+2+3+4+5=15 ... #5=...+34+35+36=666 #4=""+37=703 #3=""+38=741 #2=""+39=780 #1=""+40=820 So for Excel I use 0.5*(41-POS)^2+0.5*(41-POS), then lots of automatic summing and such. This does all the math automatically. :) This gives songs at the top much more points, which is like in real life. Songs towards the bottom are much closer to one another than those at the top. Generally speaking. I applied this retroactively to my whole chart. I then decided 2 weeks at #1 would be the points needed to get platinum, so 820x2=1640. This could definitely change in the future. So many songs I have charted so far got their chart run cut off by the late chart start, too many album tracks to get a real run, or are now getting real runs but not finished yet. So come June or December, I might change the certification threshold. So they go: Gold: 820 Platinum: 1,640 2x Platinum: 3,280 3x Platinum: 4,920 4x Platinum: 6,560 5x Platinum: 8,200 6x Platinum: 9,840 7x Platinum: 11,480 8x Platinum: 13,120 9x Platinum: 14,760 10x Platinum (Diamond): 16,400 etc. So here are all my certified songs. Bolded songs are currently charting. I also put currently charting songs which aren't even Gold yet, so you can see which ones aren't certified (yet). The list overall goes from least points to most points. So "I Love It" has the least points of everything listed (and is tied for least points overall), "Cake Like Lady Gaga" has the least points of those certified, and "Pound the Alarm" has the most points of any song. Hopefully this all makes sense. NoneâI Love Itâ âFreedomâ âWhen I Was Your Manâ âWicked Gamesâ âDonât Stop the Partyâ âThrift Shopâ âJust a Foolâ âFigure 8â âBegin Againâ âSweet Nothingâ âTwo Black CadillacsâGoldâCake Like Lady GagaââStole My Heartâ âYoung Girlsâ âBallâ âReady or NotââThe Boysâ âI Donât Give Aâ âWe Run the Nightâ âI Knew You Were Trouble.â âSuit & Tieâ âClarityâ âBeauty and a BeatââDrinks for You (Ladies Anthem)â âLost At Seaâ âWhistleâ âIâm Addictedâ PlatinumâLightspeedâ âVa Va Voomâ âTimebombâ âRock Meâ âPrincess of Chinaâ âPour It Upâ âHomeâ âGirl On FireââBirthday Cake (Remixâ âMoonshineâ âI.F.U.â âBlasĂŠ BlasĂŠâ âDark Sideâ âI Endorse These Strippersâ âHeart Attackâ âLive While Weâre Youngâ âIâm Legitâ âBeez In the Trapâ âKiss YouââLetâs Goâ âEuphoriaâ âSwimming Pools (Drank)ââBrokenheartedâ âGangnam Styleâ âCh00k Ch00k Tareâ âTryââMore Than Thisâ âWhere Have You Beenâ âCome Aliveâ 2x PlatinumâOne Thingâ âThis KissââHurt So Goodâ âCrew Loveâ âJumpâ âIn My Headâ âNatalieâ âMy Heart Is Refusing MeââCockiness (Love It)â âCrazy Kidsâ âWonderlandââBlow Me (One Last Kiss)â âToo Closeâ âSettle Downâ âSlut Like Youâ âLemme Seeâ 3x PlatinumâPush and Shoveâ âI Am Your Leaderâ âSummer LoveââOne More Nightâ âLocked Out of Heavenâ âSpectrumâ (Zedd feat. Oh well, to start its run already at #1 and still be that high is great. :) I do feel like so many of the charting songs so far are already certified which might be too many, but until I get lots of songs that had true chart runs to judge from, I'm going to stay with this. :)

It's not released on an album or EP or anything so then it can only be a single, right?? Plus it's probably gonna plummet over the next few weeks but still. I needed a Gaga song to chart. >:(

Your #1 debut! I didn't see that coming! Great to see that "Clarity" is the biggest gainer and cracks the Top 20. Yes!

Week of 02-03-2013Kendrick moves up 2 spots to take #1 this week, his first #1. "Poetic Justice" is basically bubbling under, just waiting to debut. "Little Talks" holds a 2nd week at #2, after 3 weeks at #1. "C'Mon" moves up 2 as well to #3, itching for more weeks at #1. "Kiss You" holds at #4, and "Cake Like Lady Gaga" has a decent drop to #5. Like I said before, it's probably not going to chart a whole lot of weeks. Maybe one more week top 10. Zedd moves up to #6 with "Spectrum," while also moving up 11 spots to #7 with "Clarity." He's definitely becoming a favorite of mine. However, 11 spots gained isn't enough for greatest gainer. That goes to "Thrift Shop," flying up 15 spots to #13. Definitely top 10 next week, maybe even top 5. 3 songs debut this week, and 1 re-enters. Debuting are "Crying Out Your Name" by Loreen (released fall of 2012 in Sweden as a single), "Feel This Moment" by Pitbull feat. Christina Aguilera, and "Nuclear" by Destiny's Child at #25, #32, and #33, respectively. Who would have ever thought I'd be charting a new Destiny's Child song? :O :'( And next week hopefully a new Beyonce song as well. The re-entering song is "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" by Carly Rae Jepsen, at #26, a new peak. It charted 2 weeks in 2012. Hopefully it has a nice chart run on radio, which is does influence my decisions for my chart since I listen to stuff on the radio. Speaking of Carly Rae Jepsen, "This Kiss" falls 6 spots to #39. Most likely its last week charting, but it managed 2x platinum which isn't too bad. :) "Call Me Maybe," on the other hand, rises 4 spots to #34! :O It's 5x platinum. Ke$ha had a terrible week, though. "C'Mon" is still great news (4x platinum already!), but "Wonderland" tied with "Natalie" for biggest fall, falling 9 spots each. "Crazy Kids" also fell 7 spots, and "Die Young" fell 8 spots to #40 as well. Poor Ke$ha. I have faith her future singles will smash, though, so no worries there. The album tracks are just seeing premature falls since I'm ridding my chart of them. So it's really not too bad. :) Falling off the chart is "Don't Stop the Party," "Jump," "Summer Love," and "Wicked Games." New certifications (9 of them! :O) are listed at the bottom. I definitely am regretting making 2 weeks at #1 = platinum. I feel I should have made it 3 or even 4 weeks. Just look at "C'Mon," which is already 4x platinum. It was a promo single, so even with my new rules is eligible to chart like it did before. It's still got a ways to go in its real chart run, so it's going to continue racking up those certifications quickly for a while now. Same with "Little Talks," 5x platinum, which has even further to go in real life. I don't see either dropping on my chart for several weeks, if not even a lot longer. So come March I could very well revamp the certification threshold. Too premature to change it now; I want to give it some time and see if it does in fact turn out too low as some more time passes. But "Little Talks" could pass "Call Me Maybe" next week (gonna be really close) in total points, and in probably 4 weeks will be 7x platinum, the first song to do so. The 3 biggest songs are "Pound the Alarm," "Good Time," and "Call Me Maybe," respectively, all of which had their chart runs cut off at the beginning, so "C'Mon" and "Little Talks'" chart runs will be great indicators of some more typical chart runs for threshold changing purposes. :) LW TW PP WOC03 01 01 007 âSwimming Pools (Drank)â Kendrick Lamar * Platinum* 1 week at #102 02 01 018 âLittle Talksâ Of Monsters and Men * 4x Platinum* 3 weeks at #105 03 01 012 âCâMonâ Ke$ha * 4x Platinum* 1 week at #104 04 04 010 âKiss Youâ One Direction * Platinum* 01 05 01 002 âCake Like Lady Gagaâ Lady Gaga * Gold* 1 week at #107 06 06 017 âSpectrumâ Zedd feat. Week of 02-10-2013At this point, I guess Ke$ha should be glad she got that #1 when "C'Mon" was a promo single, because this is a TOUGH top 3. Actually, it's a tough top 10. Even the top 20! It's crazy. Basically, unless a song fell a bunch of spots, don't count it out. Things are just that crazy. "Little Talks" returns to #1 for a 4th week, breaking the tie with "Titanium" at 3 weeks for the longest running #1. Several more weeks are definitely possible. "Swimming Pools (Drank" falls to #2, and "C'Mon" holds at #3. "Clarity" move up 3 spots to #4, while "Spectrum" (Zedd's) moves up one to #5, making Zedd occupy two top 5 positions simultaneously. This is a rare feat, especially since both of these are/were legitimate singles, not album tracks appearing at once. Making big gains to the top 10 are "Ready or Not," gaining 5 to #9, "Thrift Shop," gaining 6 to #7, and "Ball," gaining 10 (!!) to #8. Outside the top 10, "Crying Out Your Name" gains 12 to #13. This is the biggest gainer for the week. "Figure 8" gains 9 to #14, and "Sweet Nothing" gains 7 to #15. :) Meanwhile, the biggest faller is "Home," which falls 15 to #26. :'( Overall, there are 22 songs with bullets, which seems to be higher than normal. "Call Me Maybe" moves up another 2 to #32. 3 songs debut this week: "She Wolf (Falling to Pieces)" at #21, "Poetic Justice" at #34, and "Stay" at #35. Falling off are 3 album tracks: "Crazy Kids," "Natalie," and "Wonderland." "In My Head" is the last album track, and it's at #40. Well I guess Cake could technically be the last. (It's not gonna count towards Gaga's total #1s and such, just like the other album tracks, fyi, so don't fret too much) Zedd, Loreen, and now Kendrick are dominating my chart. Zedd has 2 songs in top 5, Loreen 3 in top 25, and Kendrick now has #2 and also #34. I just downloaded Of Monsters and Men's album, so they could potentially have follow-up singles debuting soon, if I like the album. I'm way late on debuting "She Wolf," but my chart was just SO crazy, and also I only downloaded the song this past week so yeah. Just like "Ready or Not" and other songs I get into late, it could still have a great chart run. :) Less certifications this week, only 7. "Sweet Nothing" and "Thrift Shop" getting their first certification: gold. "Cake Like Lady Gaga," "Ready or Not," and "Ball" all move up to platinum. "Euphoria" moves up to 2x platinum, while Zedd's "Spectrum" moves up to 4x platinum. He's still a bit behind F+TM's "Spectrum," though. I was messing around with numbers on Excel, and Zedd would need to be #1 and F+TM fall to #15, I believe, for Zedd to pass F+TM in total points next week. Definitely not going to happen, so it will probably take 2 or more weeks to pass F+TM. And finally, "C'Mon" passes 5x platinum, only the 7th song to do so.
