This huge European hit goes for HAC adds this week. It's not a bad song at all, but it is on the Poppy side. With recent hits from lite-rock/Pop solo males, this SHOULD find a nice place on radio in the coming months. It's DEFINITELY *MUCH* more suited for HAC radio than Jesse McCartney's recent Top 20 hit there. This video features the girl who played Ana on The OC.
I'm hoping for some success for this one, BUT I don't know if HAC will jump on a Pop-leaning song without Pop doing so first.

Love this video! Love Samaire Armstrong! I was really not impressed with the song until I saw the video. Now it's hitting me.

You can watch the video online at www.danielpowter.com I really hope this makes it in the US. Ana from The OC has gotten hotter since she was on The OC!

Not counting this one out yet! It's taking off on 3 stations, bringing the grand total of stations for now to 6. If I remember correctly, Howie Day's "Collide" started off similarly and (a whole year later) its a multi-format hit!

This is #3 New & Active with 3 new adds this week! w00t! It may not be doing much, but its slowly hanging on.
The label needs to step up promotion though. This song has already made a ton of money, as it has been huge all over Europe, and features a popular American TV character in the video. They need to put more of a push behind this, because it sounds exactly like what's doing well at radio now. They need to get the video on VH1 and encourage it to be an inside track so he can break on to the charts same way songs by Keane, Howie Day, Maroon 5, Joss Stone and countless others have.

This has been winning the "2 song throwdown" recently on Delaware's Adult CHR WSTW. Good to see people are reacting to it.

It sounds like a song that would be by Train.
I like it tho.

This continues to grow VERY slowly at HAC, but at least it's growing.
The song manages to get 2 AC adds this week, which is big news because WLTW New York is one of them, giving at an audience of 1.2+ million on that station alone. It also grabs its first 2 Pop adds this week.

Played lots here in Oz.. and is currently number 10 on the ARIA national chart :).
Come on, this is a winner! Add the damn thing HotAC and remove some of your more well known now tediously boring songs!!

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Looks like, so far, that the US is one of the few places where it isn't catching on.

It bothers me but doesn't surprise me that it's not catching on in the US. This song was just quietly sent to HAC with zero promotion. He never stopped at any radio stations. He never did industry showcase events here to the best of my knowledge. The video wasn't released here. It had an ads date at Pop that was cancelled. I mean, what can you expect? :(

Just goes to show you that American radio picks the songs less and less about quality and more and more about commercialism.

You can't blame American radio this time for the reasons above. You can only blame his record company for not backing the song at all and not even sending it to most radio stations. It's kind of hard for a station to play a song they don't officially have.

I just got back from vacation from Berlin and this song was constantly on the radio. I also saw the video and fell in love with the song even more after seeing Samaire in it! Very cool video. Love the song as well. Is his album out here yet?

Yeah this song is pretty good, but something the US couldn't handle. Honestly, I think Powter seems very similar to Blunt, but You're Beautiful is much better. Either way, I think radio doesn't know if this song is catered to a younger demographic or adult demographic, causing confusion, and that's why it is not getting played.

I also think it is too much to handle for the US. It's sad that it is that way. In Europe many from different ages love this song but it seems that in the US the simpler the best and this is hurting this song's chances in the US.
I don't think the album is out in the US but it is out in Canada.

Pfft... pathetic reasons. However, they are very true!
My thoughts?
If they rest of the world like it.. sorry US, but your wrong. Add the damn thing. See it do good, if it did in 98% of the other countries, it will in the United States.. guarrented.

You guys are complaining about a song not doing well in the US, but it was never promoted and never even released to Pop or AC. This song isn't even really a "foreign" song to the US because the artist is from North America, but a song can't be a hit if radio stations don't have a copy of it. The video was never released to TV channels here. Daniel never did any interviews here. In Europe, this was a hit largely because of its clever use in commercials. In Canada, this was a hit in part because of the CanCon laws. There's no way this, or anything, could be a hit with no backing at all in the US.
