Will it be as big as Sorry 2004?

So, will Hot AC stations pick up the slack for this track, since it doesn't look like the pop stations are in any hurray to add it?

Tied for 3rd most added this week with 6 adds.
How many Hot AC adds did "Hung Up" get the week it went for adds?
I don't think 6 adds is all that bad for a dance song at HAC even though this was its impact week. Hopefully it'll grow on some more stations and pick up more adds in the weeks ahead.

It has 15 stations listed as playing it (on the Hot AC page). Ahh, not expecting anything really at this format, either, I guess.

So far, this seems to be performing better here than it is on pop! At least it made the taking off list here.

The spins increase looks to have picked up a little bit- does this stand a shot at cracking the top 40? Hollywood peaked at 35 (on Billboard's Adult Top 40)- I recall its R&R spoins peak being in the neighborhood of 270 or so spins.

The fact that it hasn't cracked the top 40 yet after going for adds a month ago isn't really a good sign but I think there is still a chance it might if it can pick up some more adds here and there, though that might be a daunting task with very few HAC stations playing it at the moment.

Up to 245 spins (this is counting non-R&R-chart stations). But, Hollywood, as noted had around 270 spins (from non-R&R-chart stations, too) and charted, so maybe it can reach the bottom region of the Adult Top 40. No biggie if it doesn't though, I guess.

I still don't understand why many stations that supported HU like crazy are not supporting this at all or just a little.
WAYV 25 spins for HU and 7 for Sorry in the past week.
WKTI 21 spins for HU and 0 for Sorry
WMC 17 spins for HU and 0 for Sorry
WJLK 14 spins for HU and 9 for Sorry
WMBZ 11 spins for HU and 0 for Sorry
I'd rather they replace those HU spins with Sorry..lol.

I was a bit surprised that HAC jumped on a track like "Hung Up" from the very start since they're not very big on dance songs. But I think it had to with it being a first single from Madonna and all the hype surrounding it. Unfortunately it hasn't carried over to the next single.

Well, HAC didn't jump on American Life too much when it was released, and there was hype. ;)
This seems to have regained some footing (as much as it can) in terms of spins gains at this format.

Does anyone know what "Hot AC" stations there are that can be heard on Long Island?
I think WLIR is one but I don't know I think that is "Alternative."

LIR isn't on any panel, but they're Alternative in my mind. What part of LI? 95.5 PLJ and Island 94.3 come to mind. 94.3 isn't officially on the panel, but they're definitely Hot AC.

Thanks I'll check to see if I get those to! I'm in eastern Long Island (the Hamptons...) I get a lot of Connecticut stations too.

It's on N&A this week but it still has a bit of a ways to go if it's gonna make the top 40.

Well, HAC didn't jump on American Life too much when it was released, and there was hype. ;) "American Life" wasn't the first new Madonna song we had heard from her in awhile at the time since she came out with "Die Another Day" right before that. Plus, much of the AL hype was negative and the song was so below her level and what she's capable of. It was a song like nothing Madonna's ever done before.

I remember how surprising it was when Music cracked the HAC top 20- that was totally unexpected. And, it continues to get pretty good recurrent play at the format.
I'm not sure if HU will go on to have that same kind of recurrent play, but it had a decent run.
I just thought of this- "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" also did pretty well, peaking at No. 14 on Adult Top 40. I'm pretty sure that most of the airplay was from the dance version? I can't see HAC playing the ballad version (like some AC stations did).

Being so close to the Canadian border, I get to listen to 93.9 CHUM FM, which is a Hot AC station. They supported Hung Up, but have not heard Sorry. I have requested via email to the programmer. I figured since they were Canadian they would bite on the song a bit more. It's good exposure, since the station has a huge audience from the metro detroit area! Though it wouldn't help her song in terms of US airplay, some would be willing to download, etc.

It's up to 275 spins (per the Sorry page). I don't know, it could be close to cracking the Adult Top 40 chart... *pages bks* hehe

Thanks to a certain chart guru for the following news. :)
"Sorry" debuts on Billboard's Adult Top 40 chart this week, at at least No. 35 (may be a tad higher, depending on recurrent-tracks removal).

New & Active, though stuggling here and and CHR... it's gained 8 stations the past week... but still with only 20, that's not many...

As long as it's cracked Adult Top 40, it's all good. :)

However, the Programming PD told me that she will bring it up at their next meeting, so maybe soon?

It didn't pick up any adds this week but there's still a shred of hope of this making the top 40 here.

Debut at 36* on the 3/25 Adult Top 40 chart- yay. :) I'm not sure, but I think I remember reading that she had the most entries on this chart (which began in 1995) for females- either that, or it was close with Sheryl Crow. *goes to investigate*
*EDIT*- "Sorry" is Madge's 16th entry on Adult Top 40- "Always On Your Side" is Sheryl's 17th.
