This is Glenn Ballards version though. I thought the James Michael one was the single? Glenns production is simply not as good and the chorus sounds VERRY VERYY messy. GRRrrr.

I LOVE the Ballard mix. What's the one on the Gap CD? That one was alright, but a little too pop. I'm afraid to listen to the James mix. The Ballard one should be the single.

The Gap CD was just like the original demo version or something. They didn't want to send that one to radio.

Pre-impact it's tied for second most added with 9 adds. Not bad.

Going for adds on AAA.
Interesting listen. Still to grow on me. Mind you, this is very first streamed song I've ever listened to through this forum. I just couldn't resist anymore!

I'm liking this. It's faithful to the spirit of the original. I have a slight preference for the Glen Ballard version, but that could change.

I like the rockiness of Glen's version.

Well, the good news is the song is still getting adds and has a bullet of near 100. The slightly disturbing news is that it is not being spun and added at high rates. Most of the "big" hits on HAC take off quickly (i.e., have large bullets and get into the top 20 in a few weeks after charting) and last for a while after that. I'm worried that this song may fade into the ether before long IF it doesn't start getting, in particular, more big market adds. :(

It didn't even go for adds yet. It goes for adds today, so it's still too early to tell how this will do.

I was expecting a lot more than 16 (well, around 25 or so), but at least it's not completely DOA.

The remix is atrocious, but the video is hot. Why isn't the Ballard version official?

I really like the vibe of the video and, as much as I hate the remix, I think it works for the video.

Ugh! I HATE that remix. The first version I heard was far better. I get that radio might not play a 6 minute song, but couldn't they have just made some cuts?

I see they sent the dance mix to Billboard for review.

I just saw the video for the first time and I really liked it! One thing about Alanis is her videos usually are great.

We must have been watching at the same time, first Madonna, now Alanis! I thought it was a good video and she looks a lot like Jennifer Love Hewitt in the video. I was a little confused by the ending, did Alanis send the woman flowers? Did she go "crazy" and kill her boyfriend? Or was she just sorry for making a scene?

She wasn't after the boy... she was after the girl. They are lesbians in the video. Alanis was having a hard time that the guy stole her girl away from her so she yelled at him.

LOL, I totally missed the lesbian storyline! Now I really can't wait to watch again! This is what I get for watching a video before my eyes are even fully open yet.

Oh, I got it. I actually thought that for a split second but I didn't figure Alanis would put that in her video.

I saw the video, and whatever version that is, I like it. I've also heard the other non-dancy version and I like it too.
